Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Central Park Breaks 131-Year Temperature Record
https://www.newsweek.com/central-park-breaks-131-year-temperature-record-2076554
Sitting in the middle of a giant heat island.
We’ve been having freeze warnings almost every night lately, so we still aren’t able to plant our gardens or put our annuals out. (and are still using electric blankets at night)
Not unusual for northern Minnesota.
But two weeks ago we had one day of extremely hot weather (that got in the 90s, which is really hot for this area), and a friend told us that our little city had broken the record for reaching the hottest temps in the contiguous U.S. that day.
That is not normal for here, for sure.
Hello Treepers!
I have a question to ask those of you who’ve been around here for a while.
I’m guessing it was about 13 years ago that someone posted a story titled something like ‘Three drops of water.’
The story, concerning drops of water, spoke of a man who’d been doing handiman work around his house, got some type of strong, burning chemical on his hand and then a few drops of water got into that wound.
I do not remember the exact number of days and the exact sequence of events, but the wound started traveling up his finger, to his hand, into his arm, and along the way doctors removed parts of the man’s body to try and stop what appeared to be a flesh eating disease.
Does anyone remember that story?
The man’s wife had a short blog letting people know what was going on, and the last time I saw it — which was many months after she’d last posted anything — her husband had lost part of his arm and that was not enough to stop whatever disease had gotten inside him.
It seemed as though the man was going to die; SOS messages were sent out to everyone, everywhere, in search of what was happening, what kind of disease this might be, and how it could be stopped. But, it seemed with many hospitals, colleges, and very knowledgable doctors involved, no one could help the man.
We were all praying for that man for many months, and even though we did not know him, his wife, their names or where they lived, their entire family had become part of our family.
If any of you remember that story being shared here, would you please let me know if you ever heard from that man or his wife again and how he’s doing?
I don’t recall that specific case, but thank you for bringing up the topic of this bacterial risk.

I tend to brush off the risks of floodwaters and have a niece whose husband keeps wanting to return to Florida. Vibrio is something to keep in the back of your mind in particular areas.

Peace and Tranquility Prayers
Prayer for a Calm Heart
Lord of Peace, as evening falls, I seek the calmness only You can provide. Quell the storms of my mind and replace anxiety with Your peace. As the world quiets down, let my heart do the same. May Your presence envelop me so that I may know tranquility tonight and always. Amen.
Serenity at Day’s End
Heavenly Father, with the closing of this day, I ask for serenity. As the night sky displays its vast beauty, let my soul mirror its peacefulness. Help me to let go of the worries of the day and trust in Your loving care. May Your peace reign in my heart and home tonight. Amen.
Prayer for Restful Stillness
Dear God, in the stillness of this evening, I come to You seeking rest for my soul. Help me to lay down the burdens I’ve carried today and find comfort in Your arms. Grant me peace that passes understanding and a rest that restores my spirit. May my sleep be undisturbed and my dreams be sweet. Amen.
Nighttime Whisper for Peace
Creator of All, as I listen to the night’s gentle whisper, I ask for peace to settle over me. Let Your tranquility wash away the noise of the day. In this quiet hour, I lean on Your promise of peace, a heavenly balm to my weary soul. Keep me in perfect peace as I keep my mind stayed on You. Amen.
Prayer for Gentle Rest
Omnipotent and Gentle Lord, at the end of this day, I seek the gentle rest that You so lovingly provide. May my mind be at ease, my body relax, and my spirit find harmony. Help me to release every concern into Your capable hands and sleep in the assurance of Your protection and peace. Amen.
In the Precious and Holy name of Jesus, we pray….
AMEN.
Figured it may be worth a mention, we went to view a movie at a local theater today and we were stunned to see this particular theater packed – as it used to be prior to Covid. This reaction just feels strange but ever so welcome to see families out on a hot 95 degree Saturday afternoon in central Florida enjoying theatre like it used to be.
It should not surprise to see life return to normal when theatres offer family friendly films like this:
The Last Rodeo (2025) | Official Website | Now Playing In Theaters
Just saw this; posted an interview with the actor, Neal McDonough that Mike Rowe posted today.
News bloopers
I am sure all you cat people have seen this one:
Now this explains why the S. African president showed up at the Oval Office and why the left is so against White S. Africans migrating here as refugees. And the very fact that so many want to come tells the tale of what is really happening in S. Africa and it sure ain’t what the democrats and their media are so against it.

Over 70,000 whites reportedly accepting Trump’s refugee offer a brain drain SA can’t afford. Rupert rushing to DC to try and desperately stop it tells you everything: he knows what happens to an economy when the tax base walks out the door. You reap what you legislate.
Ye$….!
-WHO will work?
I keep people saying that the democrat party is leaderless and imploding. Well that may be so, but it is quite apparent to me that their 5th column embedded in the Republican party is still fulfilling it’s mission.

Most everyone has heard of Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich’ but his real achievement to society was ‘Outwitting the Devil’, written by Napoleon Hill in the 1930s but remained unpublished for nearly 80 years due to its highly controversial content.
Hill presented the book as a fictional interview between himself and a personified version of “the devil,” where he attempts to extract the spiritual and psychological tactics the devil uses to control mankind.

Another final test. Note: I apologize for taking up bandwidth but I’m trying a workaround to see if I can reliably post. Apologies.
If you’d like to help. Please check back from time to time and see if this test post. Stays up. If it does we may have found a solution to my problem.
