I look forward to a thread on Joe Biden’s illness. It is reported it takes about 10 years to get the advanced stage of his illness (prostrate cancer). Biden’s doctor in 2024 said Biden was in good health and no problems.

You sow the seeds, attach a drip line on timer to water the seeds, you spend time in the evening for a quick check of pests, you feed once per week, and weed between the veg rows at the same time. I would say 6hrs per week, not each day. If you enjoy like me, you spend every day out there. I eat my breakfast and lunch out there, marveling at how quick the pomegranates plump up, seeing how many jars I need for canning fig preserves this year etc God is there, and it is joy.
It is a joy to garden. It is quite amazing to see seeds sprout and leap for the sun.
In the Ozarks, however, it is hand-to-hand mortal combat with the bugs and critters to protect your crop.
A cute little ground hog can obliterate half a planted bed in one sitting.

I hand pull weeds that never take a day off here in Florida then use them to make Korean weed tea to feed back to the food plants.
It also is pretty labor intensive making “biochar” out of grass clippings with my rudimentary setup. I am always looking for snails, caterpillars and grasshoppers of every sort looking to eat my plants.
I spend at least an hour cloning pollinators to sell at the flea market and trade for other veggies as they come in season.

I don’t do biochar, but I do blow leaves every autumn into trenches, and cover up. Makes beautiful soil.
Can’t grow fruits and veggies where I am. Whole foods are available FROZEN. They are clean and trimmed.
Veggies can be roasted in the oven on a sheet pan. Berries can be eaten whole.
Take a multi-vitamin with B-12 in it (methyl) and be sure to get some iodine in.
I grow whole food in my back yard. Buy meats from local source farmers. When planned correctly, not all that hard on the wallet. The gardening can be hard on the back once in a while, but it’s well worth it.

There are levels to it. Frozen or canned vegetables and fruit (not packed in syrup), plus meats/fish, grains (like pasta, rice, oatmeal), and dairy are not what most ‘crunchy’ types considered ‘whole, clean food’. However, they are not overly processed like Hot Pockets and pizza rolls. And, they can be more easily purchased by someone on a budget (still more cheaply than a lot of processed foods too).
This does require cooking of course.
Also, it’s a recommendation, not mandatory, so you could still eat your Hot Pockets and pizza rolls, but maybe not make them a regular meal.
And yes, we do have far too many people in this country that subsist on Hot Pockets and Insta-Ramen (or the fare at the local fast food/gas station), with the resultant health issues.

We may be spoiled here in southern British Columbia as vegetables and fruits are reasonably priced, and we have numerous small independent produce stores.
Red meat tends to be pricey, however eggs, chicken and pork not so much, and dairy is affordable.
Ethnic stores are a tremendous source of quality rice, spices etc..
We see great waste and laziness with many consumers though, including our own adult children.
Any thing pre packaged is ridiculously expensive.

A group of FBI agents involved in the Jan. 6 investigations asked a judge Thursday to destroy a Trump administration list containing the names of roughly 5,000 agents tied to the probes.
Their move follows Ed Martin’s vow, as the newly appointed weaponization czar, to “name” and “shame” the thousands of agents who helped crack down on more than 1,000 Americans allegedly involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, protests.
The anonymous agents told U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb that Martin’s public pledge signals the federal government plans to release the list. They first sued in February, asking the court to destroy or seal the roster.
Their Thursday filing came after Martin promised at a Tuesday press conference to hold the agents accountable for destroying the lives of more than 1,000 Jan. 6 defendants.
“There are some really bad actors, some people that did some really bad things to the American people. And if they can be charged, we’ll charge them. But if they can’t be charged, we will name them. And in a culture that respects shame, they should be people that are ashamed. And that’s a fact. That’s the way things work. And so that’s, that’s how I believe the job operates.”

Why is it a bad thing to increase the number of products that can be purchased with HSA funds?
That isn’t the issue. A payment company makes money from transactions. For example in the case of credit cards, it can be in the 2% to 3% range.
Now – if a single company has a law written so that it can be the only way to “buy more products” with HSA money, then hopefully you can see the potential issues…
I guess…. but I see it as a way to enable more products to be available with HSA funds. Someone has to be the middle-man (because not all companies have the funds to set up such a system), and that isn’t free. Perhaps other companies will spring up to do the same thing.
…but there are already plenty of companies which allow one to use their HSA funds to purchase approved items.
The solution to the problem isn’t to use kickbacks and political influence to enrich a single company and those congressional members who are part of said decision – instead the way to do so the right way is to simply add whatever items are appropriate to the list of approved items so that ANY HSA fund and payment system can be used to do so. For example, in the case of the HSA I have, I already have a debit card tied to my account to spend said HSA funds.
If it’s the people making money from the products who are working to get the government to pay for those products, it’s a conflict of interest.

After Trump was declared the winner Lara Trump and the RNC closed shop and started appearing on Fox, instead of fighting the election theft of 4 senate seats and 4 or more house seats. California counted for three weeks after the election until 4 democrats flipped seats that the Republicans ‘won’ on election day. Phantom voters using the local Walmart, 7-11, homeless shelter addresses as their ‘residence’ ‘allowable’ due to mail in voting. Dirty voter rolls due to mail in voting and this doesn’t even go into the known weaknesses of voting machines. The same useless Republicans are still there at the federal and state levels. In Florida DeSantis, and the republican machine in Tallahassee, have passed laws making it almost impossible for citizens to audit voting results or voter registration to check for voter fraud. The Covid-19 pandemic epitomized how easily politicians can act as if they practically own billions of citizens. After the Trump administration saw how the Chinese government rigorously repressed its populace after the Covid outbreak, the US adopted some of the same heavy-handed policies. On March 16, 2020, Trump endorsed “15 Days to Slow the Spread” — a slogan that would live in infamy. Freezing the economy and daily life and shutting down schools would supposedly magically vanquish the virus. On April 13, 2020, Trump revealed, “The federal government has absolute power. It has the power. As to whether or not I’ll use that power, we’ll see.”
Wildly inaccurate forecasts of future infections sufficed for politicians to turn the Constitution into Covid roadkill.
In 2020, presidential candidate Joe Biden condemned Trump for not seizing far more power to pretend to keep everyone safe from everything. On March 11, 2021, the first anniversary of Covid lockdowns, President Biden donned rhetorical military epaulets and announced on television: “I’m using every power I have as the President of the United States to put us on a war footing to get the job done. Sounds like hyperbole, but I mean it, a war footing.”
To assure victory, Biden sought to commandeer every arm in the nation. Biden betrayed an earlier promise and dictated that more than a hundred million American adults working for private companies must get the Covid vaccine. (Biden had already compelled federal employees and members of the military to get the injections.) In his September 2021 televised speech announcing the mandate, Biden brazenly lied, minimizing the snowballing failure of the vaccines to prevent infections and transmission.
Instead, Biden castigated the unvaxxed: “We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us.” Biden’s declaration sounded like a dictator’s threat prior to invading a foreign nation. But Biden was only going to force people to get an experimental injection that could cause myocarditis and other heart problems, so what’s the problem? The Supreme Court struck down most of the Biden vaccine mandate in January 2022.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito lamented that the pandemic “has resulted in previously unimaginable restrictions on individual liberty.” But ravishing freedom failed to prevent more than 200 million Americans from becoming infected with Covid. Amazingly, the failure of repressive Covid decrees has done nothing to humble the political class.
Unfortunately, the government has no liability for the injections it mandates or the freedoms it destroys. Despite pervasive abuses, not a single government official spent a day in jail for the most politically exploited pandemic in American history. The crowning indignity of the pandemic occurred on Biden’s final day in office when he granted a sweeping pardon to Covid czar Anthony Fauci for everything Fauci did in the prior ten years. But what sort of savior scientist needs a presidential pardon so sweeping to protect him even against charges of genocide?
As Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. declared last week, “Anthony Fauci essentially restarted the bio-weapons arms race and did it under the pretention of developing vaccines — eventually moving his experiments offshore, mainly to the Wuhan Lab.” Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, declared on May 1, “We are working with Jay Bhattacharya, the new NIH director on this, as well as Secretary Kennedy is looking at the gain of function research that in the case of the Wuhan Lab, as well as many others.

Over two hundred years ago now, Congress authorized the President to identify “enemy aliens” and to expel them from the country. This is definitely a part of the Constitutional mandate to provide the States protection against “invasion.” If they do not belong here, and they are posing an identifiable public threat, kick them out! That’s what this Law clearly says. And the decision was vested with the President. (It’s not a long Law, but it was thoughtfully written.)
Presidents Jackson and Lincoln (yeah, the guy on your $5 bill …) refused to obey unlawful rulings from the Courts. They properly realized that “Article 3” does not actually grant the Courts any power of “review and consent.” Knowing what powers were vested with them, and not with any Court, they kept those powers and asserted them.
I would remind you that this nation consists, at this moment, of about 341.8 million people – nearly all of whom are not “polar” nor “extreme.” Hundreds of millions of them realize that our Government is corrupted and broken, and needs to be repaired-in-place. But, with determination and will, that can be peacefully accomplished. If “hundreds of millions of people” are determined to do something, there’s absolutely nothing(!) that “a few thousand people” can do about it. “The 2nd Amendment” is not required. This calls for “clear, cold anger,” but not violence.
So, there is an enormous “third option” between the two “extreme poles” that you describe. Hundreds of millions of determined, bright-eyed people who won’t accept the status quo, and who won’t take “no” for an answer. There is nothing that they cannot achieve.
If Door #1 happens, I hope Trump, his family, and his administration have a safe space to go to.

It’s far past time for the administration to take back it’s Constitutional powers and tell the courts to pound sand, giving them legal personal notice that their attempts to circumvent the Constitution are illegal acts which will be ignored and that if they persist with further actions attempting to undermine the President’s constitutional authority, they will be arrested and tried for sedition.
This seems like a no-brainer to do. Hire a couple thousand conservative administrative judges and clear the backlog. Turn years of waiting into days to get these cases finalized and the deportations done.
We’ve seen similar done before, when courts have a backlog. Even judges from neighboring towns hearing cases when for some reason local judges aren’t available.

Terminal is 6 months to a year left to live. There are always outliers, but I suspect Biden’s treatment isn’t responding anymore which is why the family is only now admitting he is terminally ill.

If you could coordinate such an event across many places on the grid at once you might not only destroy the equipment and anything near it, including people, you may be able to destroy other unrelated equipment in similarly-spectacular fashion.
The problem is that many if not most of these batteries nowdays have Bluetooth capability which is very nice; you see, these types of cells have a very flat voltage curve on discharge, therefore their voltage does not accurately tell you how much energy is left in them, unlike a lead-acid chemistry cell. As a result the BMS measures the amp-hours that flow in when you charge and flow out when you use it and it therefore knows how much capacity is left — meaning you can look and see immediately, with a very high degree of confidence, how much energy you have available.
The problem is that there is zero security on the Bluetooth connection — you cannot set a pin code on the unit and there is software out there and the protocol is thus trivially discoverable which allows you change the BMS operating parameters and limits.
This can trivially be used to tell the BMS to allow charging beyond safe voltage limits or when the temperature is out of range. Either, if it occurs, has a high probability of destroying the battery or much worse, causing it to catch fire or explode and seriously damage or destroy wherever it is.
Being able to set the BMS can also be used to disconnect the battery from the charger, the load or both which, if it is powering something critical — well, its not powering it anymore!

Where are our regulators on this? A battery that can have its controlling system modified to exceed safe limits by an outside, unauthorized party is a quite-sizeable incendiary device. Every single one of these should be forcibly recalled with the sellers and all intermediaries (e.g. marketplace entities like Amazon) forced to eat their entire purchase cost with delivery and tax until and unless this problem is fixed. Maybe the firmware can be updated (Victron’s stuff typically can, for example) and maybe not — but “as delivered” every single one of these is unsafe if a person of unknown providence is able to get within range of it; physical access is not required.

Even now, “dump a bunch of cell-phone batteries into a sealed section of PVC pipe.” Rig a long nail through the lid so that it will puncture the topmost one. You have now created a very powerful incendiary device which cannot be extinguished by normal means.
