Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has won a $1.375 billion settlement from Google as a result of the state suing the tech company for continued privacy violations. [Press Release Here]
TEXAS – […] In 2022, Attorney General Paxton sued Google for unlawfully tracking and collecting users’ private data regarding geolocation, incognito searches, and biometric data. After years of aggressive litigation, Attorney General Paxton agreed to settle Texas’s data-privacy claims against Google for an amount that far surpasses any other state’s claims for similar violations.
To date, no state has attained a settlement against Google for similar data-privacy violations greater than $93 million. Even a multistate coalition that included forty states secured just $391 million—almost a billion dollars less than Texas’s recovery.
“In Texas, Big Tech is not above the law. For years, Google secretly tracked people’s movements, private searches, and even their voiceprints and facial geometry through their products and services. I fought back and won,” said Attorney General Paxton. “This $1.375 billion settlement is a major win for Texans’ privacy and tells companies that they will pay for abusing our trust. I will always protect Texans by stopping Big Tech’s attempts to make a profit by selling away our rights and freedoms.” (more)

Paxton for U.S. A.G., cause he gets sh*t done!
Yeah, nothing but crickets at Pam Bondi’s department of justice.
But they’re SHOWBIZ crickets! They’ll have their own series on Fox soon.
Don’t change the channel yet!
It’s going to happen any… umm…
day…month… year now. 🦗Yes indeed, the cricket scurrying out of the way of righteousness.
The paint is already dry . . .
Please do not be mistaken that, because you do not see anything happening, nothing is happening. You are not allowed to know, and she is not allowed even to suggest. Your presumption of innocence is sacrosanct.
Timing is everything…. in the stock market, real estate, the theatre,…… and in politics. It might be an appropriate time in 2026 to release a lot of the “news” about the Deep State, the Uniparty, the “Elites”, and the Dims. I hope that there is work being done about all the corruption within the District of Corruption.
Please bear in mind that it is ILLEGAL to discuss pending legal action until and unless a grand jury indictment is unsealed. The deliberations of a grand jury are secret.
Otherwise, you could damage someone greatly by mere insinuation, never actually intending to file charges. You are “presumed innocent.”
Bondi has chosen to be “very public.” But she will not reveal what must not be revealed. That’s the law, and the Bill of Rights.
I’m a bit tired of some, OK, ALL the negativity in these branches. Thanks, Mike!.
Lots of folks apparently wanted “perp walks on day two,” and that’s simply not how the process works. Pam’s choice to do (so many!) open, unscripted press conferences might be a little bit confusing. On the one hand, she’s very open. But there is also a poker face. “Mandatory.” She frankly impresses me.
Thank you Mike Robinson for your level headed legal mind and posting this information…bill
After his success in beating the Bush dynasty, he was my choice for US AG once Gaetz’s nomination was pulled. PDJT needs to dismiss Blondi immediately and install Paxton however possible.
He plans to run against John Cornyn .. we stand a good chance to get rid of Cornyn if we can keep the democraps from turning out for the republican primary
I think he already officially announced.
They will have to register as Republicans.
Texas is a closed primary state
When did that change? Texas is an open primary state.
In Texas you don’t register with a party designation. You can vote in either primary. The limit is once you vote in one primary, you are limited to voting in run offs to that party. So, yes democrats can vote in republican primaries. That is how we still have Dade Phelan.
Since the Republicans in TEXAS are democrats that is going to be hard to do.
I agree, but the RINOs of Texas’ CONgress still needs to be taken to task, and Texas needs a good replacement for Paxton before he’s promoted.
John Bash is running! He was a conservative US attorney under PDJT. (Western district of Tx) Excellent!!
Who gets the money? Does Phelan get to spend it?
Ha! Good one.
He’s primarying john cornyn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An he should beat him black and blue.
Hopefully, President Trump leads Ol’ Cornhole along (as he is desperately his endorsement) to keep him in line with MAGA votes.
He’s going to run for John Cornyn’s senate seat.. We may finally be able to get Cornyn out ..
Been waiting decades for it
Can’t remember when Cornyn wasn’t senator and that’s sad
Damn Straight. Where’s all this data? Goolag tries to track me here and I use Brave! Theses jokers need dissolved yesterday.
Right! I love Ken Paxton—may he be the next Texas governor!
We need @kenpaxtonTx to CheneyCornyn in senate. And Trump knows this
Go, Ken!!! 🙏♥️🇺🇲
Exactly. However, Paxton is running for Senator in TX challenging John Cornyn.
sorry didn’t read all the comments before posting//
Pretty Impressive!
Well done AG Ken Paxton!
👍👏
So, if the state gets a big payday (cut of the profits) then it’s a win.
How can any amount of money repay the citizens’ loss of privacy??
It can’t. But it will hopefully be a big deterrent to other would-be violators in the future.
Only if someone goes to jail, otherwise it’s the cost of doing business.
Absolutely! “It’s only money” to these clowns unless someone loses their freedom for a while. There has to be some consequence besides just a little bit of their obscene profits. That’s the problem with the “justice” system as a whole. People simply aren’t subjected to any inconvenience that might actually change their behavior.
That’s the rub; the actual victims won’t see a dime of restitution. Most likely any payments received from Google will go into the State’s general fund.
Wonder what the structured settlement looks like, and how the TX legislature will squander the money?
The RINOs in the Texas House will find a way.
Who gets the money? 🤔
💯
The State of TX gets it
Most likely not the people on whose behalf Texas sued.
I wish Paxton would get a smaller percentage to add to his war chest.
*small
It never does.
I like Ken Paxton. He can latch like a pit bull when the time calls for it. 😁
The writing has been on the wall for the IC controlled tech Companies…
The goog can be erased from the marketplace…
The surveillance state is a double edged sword…
The spirit of antichrist {D/Hamas/Jezebel} is so brazen now…
We The People don’t even need their personal “data” to convict them…
Their brazen criminal acts speak for themselves…
If only POTUS would stop pussyfooting around and put his foot down…
One can hope…
In God We Trust
{All others pay cash}
Trust God
Fear not
Come on, President Trump! Endorse him! There is no possible reason that you would prefer John Cornyn over Ken Paxton. Cornyn may only have one constituent (and you aren’t it), but he has buckets full of corrupt money. It’s going to be a tough primary and Ken Paxton is going to need a lot of help to win this thing.
If we can get the Texas GOP to close the primaries Paxton will unseat him
No point alienating that low life Cornyn now. PDJT still needs his vote for a variety of his election promises.
It would not surprise if a low life Cornyn didn’t behave like Cocaine Mitch is behaving now (knowing he isn’t up for election again).
PDJT can endorse in due time.
Who gets the money — direct refunds to Texas Citizens or will The State simply spend it (like on “Green Energy” scams)?
[At approximately a population of 30 million U.S. Citizens residing in TX, refunding to all those would be approximately $45 per Citizen. Of course, the legal fees are probably going to be over $1 billion — so nevermind …]
Another win… let the dominoes fall.
Good for Texas and AG Paxton! Considering Google’s market cap is an astonishing $1,864 billion, I’m sure they won’t miss a billion or two. However, this suit sends a powerful message going forward.
How much of that ridiculous figure came from USAID??
Awesome news! Makes my day. Finally , Crap getting done.
While this is just a drop in the bucket, it is precedent setting, and I hope just beginning of real justice happening to these large giants the willfully disregard moral and ethical behavior.
How many tears have I cried in my beers that Ken Paxton isn’t our U.S. Attorney General!
That does not do any good and only dilutes the beer.
I think you’re right!
Haven’t used Google (
Don’t beevil) in over a decade. However, you have to be ever vigilant. Even “safer” browsers will include Google in their list of search engines and you have to periodically manually delete Google search (and others like Bing). Also, even if you avoid using Meta products (FB, IG etc.) for privacy reasons don’t be surprised if your friends have already uploaded your info when they were asked to upload their contacts. So ironic, Zuckerburg makes billions but makes everyone working on his property sign an NDA. Too many Americans are clueless about data privacy and are actually excited about their new AI “friends” getting to know them.
Bend To Evil is the best anagram ever.
I guess they should change their slogan from “Dont be evil” to “Dont be Google.”
I love it!
Awesome! Just Awesome! Let Freedom Ring!
Did anyone from google go to jail for violating the privacy of ‘We The People’?
Does the $1.375B get distributed, directly, to the victims of the privacy violation?
Will ‘We The People’, the victims, even notice that the state receives $1.375B ?
As a Texan, how do I get my cut of that 1.375 Billion for my privacy being violated?
Send your state rep an email staking your claim. You should have your check in a week or two.
Well, it could happen!
Sure. But why not invest that money and let it grow? I have a few deeds available to some of the best bridges
in America. Once you buy them from me you can set up toll booths and make a fortune!
Ground floor opportunity. Operators are standing by. CALL NOW! 1.800. ScamWow
Tag, a fellow Texan here. It will go into the state legislature’s surplus fund so it can be spent on one of the legislators many pet projects such as refurbishing the Senate and House Bldg’s at their discretion.
Upgrading the bar for Phelan?
Love my Tx AG Paxton….Can’t wait to vote Paxton against uni member Cornyn…..it will our pleasure in Tx to CheneyCornyn….
Ken has never lost a case…hes maga all the way.
Pls volunteer some time to campaign for Ken
Cool. I need some extra income!
Wish we could have gotten Paxton for AG. Bondi is awful.
We Texans have to do what it takes to be sure Ken Paxton defeats John Cornyn in the primary election for the US Senate seat next March. Since Paxton is running for senator and 2026 is a statewide election year for Texas, Paxton cannot run for Texas AG.
This is important.
He would have been a great U.S. Attorney.
The question is if he runs for Senate, Texas loses him as A.G. …and he is a damn fine A.G in the lone star state…!
The problem(s) is:
Google can accommodate such a large fine and continue to break the law.
The crime(s) they committed were for a purpose, which has now been completed. So Google could care less. Until the next time.
These tech monoliths need to be taught a real lesson in FAFO.
IMHO.
So, do the people whose rights were violated get the money?
Yeah, I don’t think so.
Now the Texas sellouts to the Islamists will have more money to fund their Sharia run cities.
Don’t expect to see Trump endorse anyone in that Paxton v Cornyn sentorial primary. At least, don’t expect to see that until the last couple of weeks before we vote in March, if at all.
Here are Cornyn’s committee and subcommittee assignments. He could do outsized harm to Trump’s agenda if Trump were to endorse Paxton.
https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/about/committee-assignments/
I hope Paxton runs for Senate for Cornyn’s seat.
Google IS EVIL. The technology arm of the Deep State
Google founder a Obama buddy.
Why did he settle? The fact that Google was willing to hand over $1.3 billion rather than go through discovery might have indicated that they should consider going to trial instead of settling? $1.3 billion is pocket change for Google.
I am getting a “survey” a week here in Texas from the Cornyn crew designed to tell me that Paxton is a fraud and Cornyn is the real MAGA candidate and Trump ally. I kid you not. Cornyn and GOPe are out for Paxton’s blood.
Cornyn always lies at re-election time. He gets out the hat and boots and has his photo taken riding a horse. Michael Berry (talk radio host) calls him John Wayne Cornyn.
When AG Paxton spanks the baby, he $PANK$ the baby.
C’mon man! The goog only can operate as it does because the eyes allow it and want your data. It’s simple fascism- merger of business and government for control. Probably they get reimbursed from some icy dark slush fund. Not just the cost of doing business, but rather the purpose.
For Google, it’s just the cost of doing business. Will anything change? I believe it’s still business as usual . . .
They’re just getting started with AI.
Wow! MAGA!!
IMO, KP is the single individual most aligned with the heart, soul, and mission of MAGA
He’s feared and despised after being grossly underestimated by the worst entities involved in corporate collusion with big government, surviving multiple never-Trump-style warfare while miraculously emerging ntact with tickets to the next fray, a subtle and confident warrior
His public persona is a jarring contrast with his professional and legal acumen, like a Vacation Bible school pastor who moonlights flipping the switch on the state electric chair
I wish he was our USAG but I trust Trump plugging in the players when and where he needs them because the results are steadily recruiting the collective will of the American people
BOOM. Thanks, Mr. Paxton. And you didn’t even need to go on Fox News to get this done.
I get various “responses” to text messages all the time. My wife and I both know that we don’t do that, ever. But we also know that the traffic isn’t private.
Remember the 80’s pop song: “Somebody’s watching me?” How naïve it sounds now.
And what’s ultimately happening to “all that data?” You make lots of money selling storage devices to the guv’mint. Then, it’s Indiana Jones “Raiders of the Lost Ark” time: “Top … Men.” 🤡
I live in Texas. What happens with the money? Asking for a friend. 😉
Great news. But other than money, what does this win mean? Google ain’t changing what they are doing, the data still gets collected.
This is my big question. Everyone seems to be focused on the money, but what I want to know is if there is anything in the settlement regarding a cease and desist of (at least) the mentioned business practices.
Is this still going on in Texas? Is this still going on in other states? How about other countries?
So when will Texans and the other states citizens start seeing their checks?
And the Money goes where!
And speaking of privacy, this week and last I have been dealing with fraudsters who hacked my bank account and literally almost cleaned it out. I spoke with one of the vendors who had two fraudulent transactions and they claimed they were for “sweepstakes entries”.
Seriously, who gives out their banking info when entering a sweepstakes?!!!!!
Fortunately, the law is entirely on your side. If it’s fraud, you’re not going to take the hit.
Nevertheless, people are a thousand times more determined when “trying to rip other people off” than “making an honest living.” 🤷♂️
Nevertheless: “always pay attention.” REVIEW those online statements, REGULARLY. Report ANY questionable activity IMMEDIATELY. Time is of the essence.
Also: when making online purchases, those “reloadable debit cards” that you can buy at the supermarket checkout are your bestest friends! (The fees are worth it.) Move the exact amount of money in, then use the number. Only that amount of money is exposed. (Every now and then, a fraudster will steal one. Bounce, bounce, bounce!)
Keep very accurate records in a spreadsheet. Be DISCIPLINED.
Limited Hangout.
We won. How exactly? My movements, face, searches, emails, purchases were all tracked and no doubt stored. No doubt still stored. Big Government sues Big Tech and gets money. How does that help the people that were wronged? Did Google erase all the illegally stored information?
My assessment is Big Government gets Big Money. And everyone moves on. We need SMALLER government and SMALLER corporations.
That’s about $1.30 to google.
Perhaps President Trump advisers need to speak with Paxton so see how to get those pesty judges to shut up. Boesberg actually needs to be prosecuted in his role in Crossfire Hurricane or at least fired.
Great News!! It can be done.
I have a contact in TX who knows Ken and he apparently walks on water, too!
The long knives have been after him, see false and failed impeachment charge of the recent past, because evil has no boundary..
Stop using Google, YOU are their product. StartPage dot com as a search engine is great and safe.
