If there are no rare earths and elements then how does one explain all of the pipelines crisscrossing that country?
The pipelines would suggest and back up reports of heavy oil and gas deposits in the area including in the nearby areas just off the coasts.

You are aware that diamonds are formed from compressing carbon, do you not? Carbon is on that periodic table you cite. If my memory serves me it’s #6 on the table.
President Trump used the term “rare earths and elements”. The “elements” part of his statement has me thinking about the “oil and gas” (also carbon based) in the area.
Don’t think oil and gas are classified as elements. Rare earth metals are oftentimes simplified by calling them rare earth elements; all are metals of some sort.

I suspect that President Trump is simply beginning to pick up the lingo the geologists and mining people in his circle are using in his conversations with them.
Natural diamonds are scarce, which makes them valuable. They are also useful in industrial processes and laser production, which led to artificial (lab-created) diamonds of higher purity and less scarcity. Ask DeBeers how rare diamonds are now.
Oil is also scarce, but can be created via compression of organic material. Look up “biocrude” and liquefaction of turkey waste. It is not scarce enough to make something like this cost-effective, so we don’t do it. We keep extracting natural deposits.
Same goes for shale oil from SD; the market isn’t quite there to make it affordable.
And we know where those deposits are. ANWR. Gulf of America. We just have to allow ourselves to harvest it; and that’s the big difference, it’s self-inflicted scarcity in the name of environmentalism that keeps the price just high enough to benefit Qatar and OPEC but not high enough for competition to set in like what happened in the natural gas markets (fracking in Marcellus plays in PA/OH but not NY even though it’s just sitting there).
I think it’s possibly not that they have so much, but that American oligarchs can get their hands on it without regard to environmental concerns, or they don’t want anyone else to have it.
I think that’s perhaps why we see David Sacks so interested in Ukraine.

Sadly, Amy Coney Barrett has been nothing short of abysmal. Roberts is just one justice, but I agree with you, he has been terrible too.
They are terrible, but the court was making terrible, horrible, no good, very bad decisions as soon as Roberts was in charge.

The process due is the opportunity to prove that you are legally in the United States. It is Rules of Immigration, not Laws of Immigration, and due process applies to laws. Now if an illegal is arrested for a crime, then absolutely they get due process as intended by the Fifth Amendment because they are accused of violating the law. Not a Rule.
The illegal being used as an example has had 2 court cases that have ruled he is a gang member and shall be deported. But aside from everything PT can suspend the Writ of Habeas Corpus and presto chango rules don’t apply. But under the Illegal Aliens Act the President can deport instantly those who invaded our country. Roberts ruling on this was stepping outside his bounds and acting as if he were the Executive. Roberts needed to be removed.
But that doesn’t mean a court hearing. Due process depends on the circumstances. With people in the country illegally, an executive branch determination that they are here illegally is plenty of due process.

In Longview Washington there’s a port where logs are loaded onto ships and then shipped overseas to have those trees turned into finished goods. Those finished goods are then shipped back to us. The port of Longview has acres and acres of logged off trees stacked and waiting to be loaded onto ships.

How can this possibly be Constitutional? With this statute Congress went and set a time limit on the Senate to vote on a President’s nominee for a US Attorney position, and then when the Senate won’t do its job within their own arbitrary time limit, they leave it up to a district court judge to pick who fills the position? Even if it is only temporary, that judge has no responsibility for fulfilling the executive functions of that office and should not be allowed to fill the seat. If there has to be a time limit and the Senate does not act, then that nomination should be considered to have received adequate “advice and consent” from the Senate and the President’s nominee should proceed to be sworn in to that position.
President Trump should file an emergency appeal to the SC on Constitutional grounds if Boasberg proceeds to fill that position. And he should refuse to permit Boasberg’s choice to perform any executive branch functions, which are, after all, the President’s functions and not the judge’s.
It’s a rule buried in the Patriot Act that All 535 Corrupt CrapWeasels in Congress are perfectly happy with having.
Tillis is a enthusiastic back stabber. Absolute priority to defeat him in 2026. Long history of pro-illegal immigration. Will contribute to an opponent who looks viable.

While good news, everybody needs to understand that this was NOT a ruling on the merits, but on the process in the courts. SCOTUS is allowing DOD to continue to implement it’s policy, but the legal opposition to it will continue to wind its way thru the courts.
Ultimately, it will probably be in front of SCOTUS again in the merits. Hopefully this vote foreshadows how they will rule when it gets there again.

KYIV — Ukraine’s military is turning to incentive schemes used in video games to spur its soldiers to kill more Russian troops and destroy their equipment.
The program — called Army of Drones bonus — rewards soldiers with points if they upload videos proving their drones have hit Russian targets. It will soon be integrated with a new online marketplace called Brave 1 Market, which will allow troops to convert those points into new equipment for their units.
“Brave 1 Market will be like Amazon for the military, [it] will allow military units to directly purchase technologies they need on the war front,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister and minister for digital transformation, speaking at a weekend military tech conference in Kyiv.
