It was their wish. There are not many.
When you go to Jerusalem you will see the Border Police women protecting the old city where there were many many terror attacks including against them specifically. They work together with the guys. They are really hardcore women. They are trained to react to terrorist attacks and also identify them before they attack. They also deal with riots. They are amazing. The Border Police is one of the most popular recruit areas in Israel. Many of the young people ask to serve there on their mandatory service. It is considered military, not a police job. This is not an easy job.

The fires are over. Took some 30 hours to get it handled.
The are some arrests done. It’s not conclusive yet but looks like Palestinian jobs. Definitly there was a lot of incitement to do it in Palestinian society. Many acres were burned. Israelis will plant it back. We will do “all hands” and get it done. Some enemies in the Palestinians society and abroad published images from the LA fires to make it look worse. There were no casualties. A few firefighters inhaled some smoke and were mildly injured but got treated and many went back to work. It was a massive drill to handle and the IDF joined the efforts. I will do an update this weekend.

David: When you write, “some are also very pretty,” you expose the problem of putting women in front-line combat situations. This is why the warnings of female observers were ignored in the lead-up to October 7. Men can’t help reacting this way to the presence of women in military and security roles. This is a biological and physio-psychological and social reality. Ignoring this reality gets people killed and subjects Israel to psychological warfare when Israel’s enemies (Hamas, in particular), capture female Israelis.
I can see where you’re coming from and I too am not a huge fan of the feminist movement specially not in the military.
Traditionally Israel tried to avoid sending females to fight aside for dire situation when it was necessary like The War of Independence.
But, let me dive a bit deeper. We still have females occupying most of the secretarial office positions but females have some advantages that the IDF uses. You don’t see Infantry females in combat aside for one small battalion that is mixed and is positioned on the Egyptian border to prevent infiltrations. Some females really want combat and this is where they go. We also had one or a few experimental tank crews of women, one crew appeared to kill many terrorists on 10/7 and proved themselves.
Women however appear to be excellent instructors. I remember in my basic training we had women commanders and they were making us run and say “Yes commander”. They were tough and good. They were not your feminist type. Just did a good job. Combat Infantry also have some women instructors on weapon structure and weapon operations etc… When I was in the air force we had a women mechanic and many in electrical and other trades of maintenance.
Today there are female pilots and navigators.
When I did Reserve duty they trained me to drive a soldier carriers that looks like a tank armored vehicle. The woman instructor was both good looking and an amazing trainer. We admired here ability in her field of training.
The Observers you mentioned is not a combat role. They were in Israel and the mess up why they were taken hostage and some killed was the lack of preparations of the base for a mass attack. It is a typical female’s job. They were watching monitors and report motions. I would challenge that their early alerts months before were ignored because they are women. It is a long story why they were ignored and hopefully an investigation will one day conclude about it.
Those in Gaza were not there to fight but to provide logistics, collect Intel and medical roles.

Most of Gaza is relatively safe unless you move into new areas.

As to Border Police it is Police. As to reactions to terrorism inside Israel it’s totally useful, they also very good at stopping vehicles and inspecting for explosives with dogs etc…
As to dealing with riots I think it’s wrong as there are some physical confrontations with strong guys and I saw how it can go wrong. They are good in dealing with women rioters.
No, we don’t minimize the authority of women when they are in a commanding positions, training positions or observation positions.

Billrla I can’t fully agree with your assertions. What you are describing really depends on how individuals use cultural values and life experiences. Put another way, rather than a biological and physio-psychological “social reality” what we are really dealing with is how individual males interact with women. So much depends on perceptions based on social status and everyday life social interactions. Lots of men—myself included— scoff at the idea that “men can’t help . . . etc., etc.” Some men conform to your stereotypes but plenty of other men don’t respond that way at all.

COMMENTARY FOR ROMANS 12
“Believers are to dedicate themselves to God. (1,2) To be humble, and faithfully to use their spiritual gifts, in their respective stations. (3-8) Exhortations to various duties. (9-16) And to peaceable conduct towards all men, with forbearance and benevolence. (17-21)”
9-16 The professed love of Christians to each other should be sincere, free from deceit, and unmeaning and deceitful compliments. Depending on Divine grace, they must detest and dread all evil, and love and delight in whatever is kind and useful. We must not only do that which is good, but we must cleave to it. All our duty towards one another is summed up in one word, love. This denotes the love of parents to their children; which is more tender and natural than any other; unforced, unconstrained. And love to God and man, with zeal for the gospel, will make the wise Christian diligent in all his wordly business, and in gaining superior skill. God must be served with the spirit, under the influences of the Holy Spirit. He is honoured by our hope and trust in him, especially when we rejoice in that hope. He is served, not only by working for him, but by sitting still quietly, when he calls us to suffer. Patience for God’s sake, is true piety. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

The Reform party faced a huge Labour majority and beat them, There was a recount over a few votes, and Reform won with 6 votes. They were still counting at 4 am their time . It’s the land of my birth. I will always feel love for it. My ancestors have lived there for a very long time in different parts of the U.K., England and Ireland. I also have Frankish ancestors and a soupson of Finnish.(Sa ami)
I have traced some of them back a long way with help from’ Ancestry’ and other genealogical sites and fellow enthusiasts.
I do not live there in the UK now, and I haven’t for decades, but I have relatives there, (sort of like a lot of people who live in the U.S. and other former colonies of Great Britain, like Canada and Australia, and also countries from all over the world., and who probably still have a fondness for their roots )
Some of them form Pipe bands and frequent Irish pubs and march ( somewhat unsteadily) on St Patrick’s day.

Hello, wanted to let you know that when I open the CT site, I’m getting pop up fishing viruses.
It started the morning after the apple people installed an update, so it’s probably my device, but I’m not getting them when I go to my other regular sites.
Specifically, it’s an “congratulations Amazon user, you have won a prize, claim now” kind of bait.
I don’t think it’s on your end, but maybe other readers have experienced this?
It’s your device, try using brave browser instead, and a VPN service will limit anyone that wants to advertise to you since it can tell you are in an anonymous location tho it can cause problems with sites you frequent.

Years ago Mike Rowe, the Dirty Jobs guy and advocate for trade schools, had a Facebook show called ‘Returning the Favor’ where that show would profile people who worked within their communities to help those who needed it or to fill needs that the community could fill and that show would then, at the end, surprise the person or group profiled with assistance, usually monetary, sometimes with items that could help forward their endeavors such as vehicles and things like that.
He has revived that show, but, due to Facebook holding the rights to that name, now have a new title and is calling this new show “People You Should Know” – and will be airing it on his you tube channel.
