The movie Disney made before it lost its way was wonderful, Garrison. Perfect for family viewing. I tried to find the trailer but it seems there isn’t one, alas.
However it also seems a company in the UK has remade the film, and so I am leaving that trailer. Usually remakes aren’t a patch on the originals, but this one looks as if it might have taken few liberties and would be worth a look.

This is so true. Every dog I have ever owned shared my bed. Wonderful memories. Beau, my current dog friend, shares my bed every night. With my dog in my bed, it makes me feel it is the safest place to be.
Good morning Burrolady. That is so true. My Catahoula, a stray that I took in at 8 months old, acted like a puppy, even when he got gray. There was never a day he did not make me laugh.
He didn’t like sticks, he would take logs from the stack and carry them around like toys! Before cutting the lawn, I had to go gather up all the logs. He actually barked while carrying the log in his mouth. Good times watching him. He was also one of the best watch dogs I ever had.
The only thing that would freak me out was when he would present me with field rats at the door, like a cat showing you their prey and gifting it to you.
Tears this morning thinking about him. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

I love this pup in a raincoat! My granddoggie, Fritzee, will chase a coyote (or 4) far into the desert, but won’t venture out into a slight sprinkle.
What a pretty dog. Brave too, chasing the coyote. I wonder why some dogs do not like the rain.

My son found 4 almost frozen pups in a grocery cart in front of the store where he was working. Fritzee was the runt and……happily he found good homes for the others. She’s been bitten by a rattler, had her cornea ruined by a stick – still tickin’ and still won’t go out in the rain!
I walk around our place and shed a tear often while visiting their resting places. 😢

Hearing her music for the first time, I’ll freely admit, was a captivating experience for me. First of all, her compositions were all her’s and then, on hearing them, I realized we were hearing the work of a truly remarkable musician. As I say, I genuinely hope that we will hear move of her splendid compositions. 🙂
Intimacy…yes!!! That’s the word I was looking for, but it just wouldn’t come. It fits her music perfectly, and it shows on her face as she’s playing. I hope we will be hearing from her again. Learning early…
Sweetie came to us by accident. I was having lunch on the patio of my favorite restaurant. I noticed a border colliee on the patio that the staff was feeding. Some conversation ensued where I asked if anyone there wanted a dog. None did.
Then I felt a gentle weight on my leg. Looking down I saw the soft border collie eyes staring up at me. I’d been claimed. Since she had plastic pound tags on, I assumed she’d been scheduled for being put down but, thankfully, someone at the pound saw merit in this beautiful animal and “accidently” left a back door open.
She came through the park and made her way tot the restaurant. She came home with me. My wife, who was suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s, gained a wonderful caring companion. Where Maggie went so did Sweetie. It was a touching relationship, lasting until Sweetie gently passed away some 8 years later. Good dog.

Biography: Dvorák was a prolific composer, with over 1000 works to his credit. He is most remembered for his Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”), his Slavonic dances, and his Cello Concerto in B Minor. His penchant for incorporating local folk music and nationalistic themes into his music is prevalent throughout his catalogue.
He spent the early part of career as a respected violist, principally with the Bohemian Provisional Theatre Orchestra in Prague, and a church organist. In his thirties, he began to devote more attention to composing, and came to the attention of Johannes Brahms, who recommended Dvorák to his publisher in 1877.
As his international reputation grew, he was offered the directorship of the progressive National Conservatory of Music of America in New York City, which he accepted in 1892. The school admitted Native American, African-American, and female students on a merit basis without regard to ability pay. In his time there, Dvorák formed a friendship with student Harry Burleigh, who spent hours singing and documenting traditional American Spirituals for Dvorák. While in the United States, he wrote his most popular work, the Symphony No. 9 ‘From the New World’ (1893), as well as the Cello Concerto in B minor (1895).
As the Conservatory faced uncertain economic issues, his stipend was halved. This coupled with bouts of homesickness led him to return to Prague in 1895. In 1901, he took over the directorship of the music conservatory there, until his death in 1904.
Aside from music, he was keenly interested in locomotives and pigeons.

He lived at Spillville, Iowa with its contingent of fellow Czechs when he wrote Symphony No. 9. Some of the Iowans have been proud promoters of that.

“The apostle’s earnest desire for the salvation of the Jews. (1-4) The difference between the righteousness of the law, and the righteousness of faith. (5-11) The Gentiles stand on a level with the Jews, in justification and salvation. (12-17) The Jews might know this from Old Testament prophecies. (18-21)”
“5-11 The self-condemned sinner need not perplex himself how this righteousness may be found. When we speak of looking upon Christ, and receiving, and feeding upon him, it is not Christ in heaven, nor Christ in the deep, that we mean; but Christ in the promise, Christ offered in the word. Justification by faith in Christ is a plain doctrine. It is brought before the mind and heart of every one, thus leaving him without excuse for unbelief. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
