The cost was reasonable and as such going to college just to do it was a rational decision and you could work a part-time job to pay for it — including a place to live and food to eat. Yeah, you had a cinder-block dorm with two twin bunk beds and a shared shower and crapper between your room and the next one for each pair of two students, and the food in the chow hall was cafeteria-style garbage, but it worked.

It worked well enough in the decades before, by the way, to put men on the moon. If we can manage that with what the college system was capable of it was plenty good enough and produced a thriving middle class.

Obama did even worse — he took the entire shooting match and federalized it, removing all discipline in that regard. Of course, being where Obama got his “degrees” from is this a surprise?

What’s the answer? Simple — force the colleges to cut that crap out by removing the money.

– No more federal student loan backing of any sort. Pell Grants and perhaps Stafford for undergrad, OK. Beyond that? Nothing. Period.

– No more bankruptcy exemption. Force lenders to underwrite both students and programs or run the risk of a bankruptcy filing after graduation that causes the lender to eat the balance.

– Ban co-signers on such loans as void due to public policy. No, Mom and/or Dad do not get stuck if you can’t pay post-graduation.

The amount charged for a perceived as needed “product” or “service,” in this case a so-called “education,” will rise to the cost the customers can bear. Imagine that, otherwise known as “basic economics.”

I was reminded yesterday when I was talking about the strangeness of that Noem purse-snatching story, one of the strange factors being that everything was being filtered through CNN.

Someone directed me to a podcast where she (Noem) gave more details of the crime.

That’s another VERY odd thing- every time a person comes up with a very logical question about how this even happened, there is another eensy amount of information released, to explain the questions we all still had, without really explaining.

By that I mean that in the newest account, the question of how the alleged thief got away with it without being noticed was “answered”.

We already heard that the Secretary didn’t notice he guy’s foot under the table because she thought it was one of the kids. We didn’t hear that directly from her.

Okay, he gets his foot on the bag and drags it out without her noticing, because she assumes it is a child.

That doesn’t make a lot of sense, but the next logical question is, the guy drags her purse with his foot. He still has to pick it up, right? How does she or anyone else not notice him picking her purse up off the floor right next to her?

Here comes the eensy bit of new info- the guy was “very professional”- he threw a coat over the purse before he picked it up! Yes, she said that, that’s how no one noticed.

OMG. A man in a strange getup, sticks his foot under her chair without anyone being able to see a man sticking his leg out, and then, with a purse on his foot throws a coat on the floor…. wait, what?

This is starting to remind me over other stories she has made up. She has a history of confabulation, so it isn’t all that surprising that she’s doing it again, but the question is, why now?

There is some big mess at the Secret Service and at the State Department, still, as they are both party to this strange tale.

She was also charged with concealing an individual to prevent discovery and arrest.

Oh, and we have this thug — also an illegal — who was just convicted of killing a Vegas showgirl.

An illegal immigrant from Guatemala will serve two consecutive life sentences for stabbing to death a Las Vegas showgirl and a Canadian tourist in 2022.

Yoni Barrios murdered Brent Allan Hallett, 47, and Maris Mareen DiGiovanni, 30, during a stabbing spree on the Las Vegas strip in October of that year. He also injured six in the attack. 

Here’s the problem: He was arrested twice in California prior and yet the state refused to cooperate and thus he was released. Nobody was charged with that obstruction — but there is in fact law allowing the arrest, prosecution and conviction in these cases, and its much-stronger and a slam-dunk case when it comes to harboring illegal aliens as there is zero ambiguity in said statute.

Its 8 USC Section 1324 which I’ve cited before:

It explicitly criminalizes anyone who brings into the United States, transports within the United States, or harbors within the United States, or conspires with any other person or entity, one or more illegal aliens and in the case of employment employs five or more illegal aliens.

In addition all of those offenses have the penalties, which start with five and ten years in prison, enhanced if said alien injures an American and the penalty is life in prison if said alien kills an American.

No more mamby-pamby bull**** on this: If you’re serious then you charge those two judges and the state entities and personnel who refused to turn over the murderer in Vegas when he lived in California under this law and you make clear that you have a stack of indictments ready and in 30 days if any illegal immigrant remains in the US you’re going to issue them against all the United States entities, whether private citizens or members of state judiciaries, attorneys general and personnel in said state criminal justice systems who in fact are violating said law.

You’ve had three months now to cut the bull****. Homan referenced this law and knows damn well what it says, and so do you Mr. President and Ms. AG.

Either this Administration is actually serious about reducing the cost of living, especially for those at and under the median line in capability among Americans or they are not and in less than two years the GOP is going to lose both House and Senate as those Americans can and will vote for those who promise them better since Trump will have FAILED to deliver.

To those who say we don’t have the available labor here THE BLS SAYS YOU ARE LYING; there are over 100 million Americans of working age not in labor force by choice and at least a third to half, sufficient to cover every illegal alien in the nation, can and given reasonable purpose and wages to do so can re-enter the labor force and do those jobs, which at the same time will radically increase tax revenues since many if not most illegal aliens evade taxes as well.

There is only one way to deliver on this promise in the time available — the next year or so going into the midterms — and that is to force out of the country all illegal aliens without fear, favor or exception and to at the same time target every entity abusing any sort of visa program such as F1s and H1bs and prosecute them as well.

I know there is a lot of other news going on but this statement (in link below, to news article) by attorney Mark Geragos (representing the Menendez Brothers) is so ridiculous.

DA Nathan Hochman was resoundingly elected by the good people of Los Angeles to be their new District Attorney; the people did not reelect Gascon, who was in favor of a resentencing for the Menendez Brothers, with the ultimate result expected that the Menendez Brothers would see their prison sentences shortened and they would be free.

Stillwater has put Mr. Hochman and his family and team on the prayer list over on “The Still Hour” . . . I hope that prayers and then positive action by the people of Los Angeles will make it known that Mr. Hochman is very much the right man for the job; the voters said so in November 2024 and will say so again. Mr. Hochman already has plenty on his plate, as the new DA for Los Angeles.

The Menendez Brothers and their allies within their family as well as their attorney act like they deserve number one priority for everyone’s time and attention and compassion for their plight when they themselves showed no mercy to their father and mother.

I hope everyone reading this will say a prayer for Mr. Hochman, his family and his team.

Dhillon, meanwhile, said the changes were no different than what happens anytime there’s a change in administration, along with a quest for efficiency.

“Each new administration has its own priorities, and allocates resources accordingly,” said Dhillon. “The Trump administration is no different. When I assumed my duties as Assistant Attorney General, I learned that certain sections in Civil Rights had substantial existing caseloads and backlogs, and that formed the basis of temporary details to assist those sections in getting, and staying, caught up.”

10 ‘current and former officials’ in the Civil Rights Division told NBC News that several division chiefs have been transferred to roles unrelated to their legal backgrounds, including handling complaints, as well as the office that handles public requests (lol). So, customer service.

“Every presidential administration has its own policy priorities,” said former employee Stacey Young, who spent 18 years in the division before resigning in January, “but I don’t think there’s any precedent for an administration almost completely refocusing the civil rights division’s enforcement priorities the way this one has.”

This seems to be the norm on the “conservative” media outlets and leaves the impression that conservative Politicians and Leaders get to sit on the bench bitching at a lack of total victory by President Trump. It also seems the norm to state conservative voters are upset because President Trump cannot overcome the forces arrayed against him ON HIS OWN .. while NOT pointing out to those voters the lack of support from the Republican Owned Legislative Branch to the “disappointed voters”.
