There are so many half-truths and inaccurate reporting surrounding these social security numbers, sometimes I think much of it is deliberate. On the first page of today’s Presidential thread, there were attempts to calculate actual dollar amounts of Social Security benefits lost.

The big problem centers on the issuance of social security numbers (SSNs), not payment of Social Security benefits. Aliens authorized to work have always qualified to receive an SSN. Aliens (including all illegals) NOT authorized to work can not be issued an SSN unless they provide a valid non-work reason to get one. This has been long-standing policy at SSA, originating way before President Trump’s first term.

The current crisis now revolves around the term “valid non-work reason.” When the federal, state and local governments started giving cash, medical and other in-kind benefits to those in the country illegally, that created a giant loophole. Now illegals were required by governments and other third-parties to have an SSN to get these benefits. That became a valid reason. That’s where the problem started and continues to grow.

Finally, even though the SSN may be internally tagged “Not Authorized to Work,” electronic verification systems are FUBAR. Here’s the policy reference:

There is or there are some kinds of insitutions for Autistic children but they never grow up so it becomes big 30 year olds with no language, frustrated beyond belief. Sometimes a counselor would call and ask if there was enough money to take a group to the afternoon movie.

He got removed from the case…. and NOBODY has bothered to correct the facts in subsequent hearings… they just accede that he was mistakenly deported.

Nobody even bothered to read the 2019 deportation hearing which said he couldn’t be deported to GUATAMALA – no mention of El Salvador.

Steven Miller needs to direct all further persons representing the Government of that actual facts and get them put into the record.
