– this illegal alien had gotten a ‘pity deal’ (he’d be in fear of his life) to not be returned to El Salvador due to him doing some testifying — which, at the rate the court system moves, has probably not occurred as of yet — against his homies;
– in the meantime, PDJT declared the gang (which he ‘was’ in, which he ‘is’ probably slated to testify against in some federal court, and which he — at least pretends — to still be associated with due to needing to maintain his street cred) as a terrorist organization from which there are no excuses tolerated for remaining in our country;
– the DOJ associate probably looked at the first point to make a determination of ‘mistakenly returned’ and either was not up to speed on the administration’s position, or saw notes to the effect that this illegal was given assurances that his (future?) testimony precluded him from deportation, period, much less back to his native country.

He didn’t hide it earlier. Look at the photo in Bukele’s X post with Van Hollen and Garcia shaking hands. Save the photo then enlarge it. You will clearly see the tats on his left knuckles; the same tats in the photo that President Trump released at the Oval Office today.
Damn stupid of him to advertise MS-13 then try to deny it. All he had to do was ink over the original. I guess he felt protected by our court system. Garcia didn’t feel he needed to hide his connection.
