A “standard” is an objective value of some kind, used to evaluate whether a given thing rises to that standard. Federal Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) “standards,” on the other hand, are nothing more than the federal government decreeing that all new vehicles must average an arbitrarily laid down minimum miles-per-gallon. Those that do not average say 35 miles per gallon – the standard in force in 2020 – are considered “noncompliant” and their manufacturer is punished for this via fines that are imposed for offering such “noncompliant” cars for sale….”

Israel Update:
A couple of days ago I celebrated Passover.  We sit with family and friends and there is a meal and a book of the Exodus story and prayers and songs and ceremony.  For thousands of years we read the same thing and same story and prayers.  One prayer and song captured my attention: “In every generation they raise on us to eliminate us and the God Almighty saves us from them”.   It’s a part of the song.  And unfortunately it’s the reality, from the Egyptians to the Greeks and Romans to the Arabs and Iranians and many more.  

I am warning you that this update is not in a great mood, I have to report what is and not what I would like. 

Now to the update:

–Gaza: Daily bombardments on Hamas and terror targets. Some 36 attacks in the last day.  
The IDF publishes what and who was targeted mainly.  There is a  list of some 6 Battalion Commanders of Shuja’iyya city in Gaza, a trouble area, all killed in the last year and a few of them in the last few weeks and months.  The replacers don’t last long.  Another commander who took part in 10/7 killed. Hamas Chief of Police in a city killed, etc….  

The Defense Minister said that “we are now controlling 40% of the Gaza Streep”.  
I am pretty sure that he included the Rafah area that is surrounded at the south.  
I am not sure but this is how it makes sense.  

Some 10-60 killed a day in Gaza.  I don’t know the ratio of combatant to civilians.  But Civilians are still supporting Hamas and terror groups, it’s deep in their education and culture.  

Israeli Journalists who entered Gaza got briefed by an IDF figure who told them that 
“only 25% of the tunnels were discovered and demolished or even less”.  This was quite a shock and left people with feeling of being lied to.  It makes one understand that more Hamas stayed alive than we thought.  He also said that now after they recruited so many new recruits they are 40,000 Hamas members (more than the beginning).  Not trained and armed but many recruited.  

It took me a week to tell you because it was very upsetting and doesn’t make sense as I kept posting tunnel demolitions of miles and miles and we estimated some 18,000 Hamas killed and many wounded of the 35,000 or so they started from.  On second thought it is my opinion that this briefing is “a half truth”.  How can anyone estimate the % of “tunnels that were never located”?   I am pretty sure that the figure of 40,000 in Hamas, is coming from those who tried to discourage Israel and it reached someone in the IDF.  The reason is that I remember this number from a few months ago from US media , either NY Times or Wall Street Journal.   I consider those sources a tool of CIA or the Progressives.   Anyways this is my perception.  

It’s simply contradicts things that I have been seeing regularly.  Anyways I am reporting it here as it does indicate that too many tunnels and too many Hamas are still there and if we go at the same rate it will be another year or two to deal with it.  But the plan is not to go at the same rate.  While I have actual lists of almost everyone in their Command structure dead, they fill in positions and we killed those and they fill in again.  Bibi is now focused on hostages but he will need to go all out if things will ever come to an end.  

–Hostage Deal: A lot of false media.  The bottom line is that the latest proposal of some 11 living released and about 16 bodies for a ridiculous number of terrorist with life sentences and 46 days ceasefire, was rejected by Hamas.  

The bottom line is that Hamas is demanding that any deal will lead to an end of the war with International guaranties that the IDF will leave them alone to rebuild and grow.  
A complete surrender for the hostages.  And they use a lot of psychological warfare.  
Videos of living hostages who look messed up and badly wounded yelling to help them or crying and blaming the government, with ticking clocks in the background.  It’s very vicious, I watched one of those today.  Horrific!

Today they said that “a bombardment hit the location of the American Hostage and they lost contact.”  He is an Israeli soldier with dual citizenship.  And the left and media in Israel are another force against the government and for surrender.  They say “bring all the hostages now” and they mean to surrender to the demands.  Honestly it’s quite a mess.  But isn’t any hostage situation is a mess?  The IDF is under orders to “be extra carful not to hurt the hostages”.  There are areas in Central Gaza which were not targeted by the IDF since the beginning of the war for this reason.  

–Iran: As I suspected in another update there is a serious problem with Mr. Witkoff the negotiator.  He met the Iranian Foreign Minister in Oman.  Instead of direct talks as Trump said, it was mostly through a third party going from room to room.  A very small portion was direct.  Mr. Witkoff then scheduled another meeting for next Saturday.  He was on Fox News and said that “his goal is to reduce the enrichment below a certain level” and transport their stock of highly enriched uranium to a third party.  Well, this is no different than the Obama deal if not worse.  They get to keep the centrifuges there and if they feel like it they enrich to the level of bombs.  It was quite clear to me and many that their goal is to drag time until Trump is gone or until they have the bombs.  This created serious anxiety in Israel and some bad reactions in the Republican Party.  I assume that it came to Trump’s knowledge and he blasted him because today he posted a tweet that says:

“A deal with Iran will only be completed if it is a Trump deal. Any final arrangement must set a framework for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East –meaning that Iran must stop and eliminate its nuclear enrichment and weaponization program. It is imperative for the world that we create a tough, fair deal that will endure, and that is what President Trump has asked me to do.”

Mr. Witkoff also appears to fail in his Ukraine / Russia negotiations and also in regard to Gaza I won’t forget his comments with Tucker about “how the Qataris are so great and well intentioned”.   They are key financiers of Hamas and the lead instigators of antisemitism and Israel’s hate in the Arab world and overall.   They are a key element if the Muslim Brotherhood whose goal is an “Islamic World by all means including war”.  

This man in my opinion is causing damage and Trump has to deal with his errors.  

So Trump has two who are tough on Iran, Mike Waltz and Mr Rubio and on the other ear he got Mr. Witkoff who is for an Obama style deal that wouldn’t even deal with Iran’s aggression in the Middle East.  And as we talk, today the Supreme Leader of Iran posted “the reasons why Israel should be eliminated”.  So on one hand they negotiate and on the other they desire a genocide and elimination of Israel, while their centrifuges are working.  

I know many in MAGA consider it “not a US business” or “War mongering”.  
I wouldn’t get into it here.  I am presenting the Israeli point of view and why.  That’s all I have been doing.

Yesterday I was driving in the middle lane of a busy street, at 35 to 40 miles per hour. To my left was a long lane of cars waiting for the light to change. A truck darted out from an intersection, to get to the other side. The driver could not see the oncoming traffic (me). I was able to brake with control to avoid hitting it.

This experience was a reminder of the brevity of this life. How many times our lives have been spared!

We should always thank the Lord for His gift of life. We don’t even know the tenth of all He does for us. Our time on earth is a gift.

I have noticed an uptick in the number of people running red lights. I witnessed a crash caused by this very thing less than two months ago. Green doesn’t mean go. It means watch for people running red lights, and only then, go.

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE

“Christ comforts his disciples. (1-11) He further comforts his disciples. (12-17) He still further comforts his disciples. (18-31)1-11 Here are three words, upon any of which stress may be laid. Upon the word troubled. Be not cast down and disquieted. The word heart. Let your heart be kept with full trust in God. The word your. Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Prayer for Serenity 1: When Things Seem Out of Control
You did everything you could to assure a positive outcome, but it didn’t turn out the way you wanted or expected. We’ve all been there. It tests our faith. Maybe you accept the outcome or maybe you’re frustrated. God wants to help you put the situation into perspective and remember that he is always in control of every situation—even those you so desperately want to control.

Dear Lord, It feels like everything is out of control in my life right now. I know good things are happening too but the stress is overshadowing them. I wanted a better answer, things to change, but my hopes are dashed. Many people try to comfort me by saying that you’re in control, but it doesn’t bring me comfort. It seems condescending.

Lord, I want to understand and discern the plans you have for me. Father, restore my faith as I trust that you’re omniscient and I’m not. Envelope me with your peaceful balm to soothe my questioning mind. Remind me that you hold the whole world in your hands and all things work for good to those who believe in you. I do believe! Amen

Prayer for Serenity 2: When Anxiety Overtakes Rationality

God didn’t create doubt, anxiety, or worry. Satan did to rob us of our joy, peace, and sleep. God knows common sense can flee when we’re under stress, so he gave us a remedy when we experience mind hijackers: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Charles Spurgeon advised that, “Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.”

Lord, you know how irrational I can become when I’m anxious. I can’t reign in my thoughts. Instead of expecting the best, I worry and wonder. I fret. My stomach churns, my heart races, and I can’t take my mind off the issue. I know you don’t want me living in a constant state of turmoil. It’s not good for my physical or mental health. It makes people around me miserable and keeps me living in a perpetual state of chaos instead of calmness, which I crave.

Father, you tell me in your Word to cast all my anxiety on you and so I’m doing that in this prayer. I lay at your feet the things I’m struggling with and I implore you Lord to free my mind of concerns. Remind me please to take deep breaths and trust that you can make a way even when the path is not visible to me. Father, please lead me to refreshing Scriptures when I feel anxiety approaching. Holy Spirit fill me with the serene peace and joy of the Lord. Amen

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 NLT

Prayer for Serenity 3: When Fear Overcomes Faith

Faith is the opposite of fear. The antidote to fear is to renew and reaffirm your trust in God when things are going well, when things look bleak, and every time in between. Don’t doubt him. Realize and internalize that God’s got this and he’s way ahead of us. Elisabeth Elliot once said, “Fear arises when we imagine that everything depends on us.”

Scriptures remind us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). In times of trial, we may find ourselves by God’s grace able to overcome our fears quickly, or it could be an extended journey. The triumph will be worth the struggle as it draws us closer to God when we go straight to prayer and reliance on him.

Dear Father, I’ll admit that I’m fearful right now. My world seems unsteady and unpredictable and I’m afraid. I want to trust you in all circumstances. Please help me rely on you and avoid the instigators of fear. When I’m tempted to turn on the news, nudge me to pick up my Bible. When conversation becomes uncomfortable, please give me words to change the subject.

Lord, my hope is in you. Your Word always brings calmness to my soul and your presence in prayer is soothing and restful. I will not be afraid. I love you Lord and know that you first loved me. Greater love could no man have than to lay down his life as you did for me, even when I was so undeserving. Remind me Lord to believe when I forget that you are greater than anyone or any force in this world. I feel my fear subsiding as my love for you grows greater. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, even to me. Amen

Prayer for Serenity 4: When What-if’s Overshadow What-Is

In Everyday Brave, I admit that I’m an overthinker and a perfectionist. Overthinkers imagine all the things that could go wrong or could happen. We wake up in the middle of the night ‘what-iffing’ and often create our own stress. We anticipate the worst in the future, robbing ourselves of the joys of the present. Overthinkers create problems in our minds that don’t exist and probably won’t ever occur. Perfectionists second-guess ourselves, never thinking we’re good enough or smart enough. Many don’t even try for fear of failure.

Lord, imagining future problems and never being satisfied with my, or others, performance doesn’t make me happy. I awfulize. I try to cope in my own strength and expectations instead of depending on you. Please teach me how to focus on actual circumstances and let go of those I fabricate. I waste so much of my life in a perpetual state of unrest.

You are my strong fortress, my anchor, my source of joy, serenity, and peaceful thoughts. Keep me grounded on the firm foundation of your Word and your ways. Guide me on paths of righteousness. You are the truth, the way, and the life. Amen

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

Prayer for Serenity 5: When You Want to Give Up or Give In

Stress is debilitating. Even with our best intentions, the weight of whatever is bothering us can defeat our motivation to rectify the situation. We feel helpless and hopeless. It seems easier living with the source of our stress than praying to God for how we should respond. Often, he will direct us to take no action. It’s not our battle this time. Other times, he wants us to be resilient, resourceful, and rectify the situation remembering: “I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13).

Dear Lord, please refresh me with your living water. Let the Holy Spirit flow over me. Remind me that this world is not my home and to keep my eyes looking heavenly. I can so easily lose sight of you in the midst of my problems and the world’s craziness.

Others are watching how I react to stress and difficulties. They need to see that my dependence is on you. My source of hope is you working in ways I might not see.

I want to be an encourager when asked how I can still have a smile on my face and joy in my voice as I carry on in the midst of stressful times. Please don’t let darkness overtake me Lord as I seek your face in morning’s light and the stillness of night. I will not be discouraged for I know the Lord my God is with me wherever I go. Praise you Father. Amen

UK Supreme Court Rules ‘Trans Women’ Are Not Legally Biological Women

The Supreme Court in London has ruled that, for the purposes of judging matters of equality, terms like ‘woman’ and ‘sex’ refer to biological sex, not gender.

Campaigners have hailed the “death” of self-identification as the UK Supreme Court in Westminster ruled on Wednesday morning that the UK’s Equality Act 2010 refers to “biological women and biological sex”.

The court has ruled: “The definition of sex in the Equality Act 2010 makes clear that the concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man.”

Judge Lord Patrick Hodge said in the ruling that the body of five judges had unanimously agreed that a man with a Gender Recognition Certificate, a UK legal paper that recognises that person’s assumed gender when it is other than their biological sex, could not be counted as a woman when it came to equality legislation.

As the court notes, this is pertinent to laws such as a 2018 Scottish law that moved to force gender equality on public bodies by mandating a 50-50 split between men and women on their boards.

However as the law had been interpreted at times up to this ruling, a public body’s board could still be biologically totally male as long as half the members held Gender Recognition Certificates stating they were, in fact, women.

The Daily Telegraph cites the remarks of Maya Forstater, the chief executive of the gender critical Sex Matters group who proclaimed that the ruling means gender self-identification is “dead”. She said of the ruling: “They thanked us for our cogent argument. It has turned the Equality Act from confused to being clear.
