My guess is that most of the speeches given by most of the politicians in previous decades were done for show to placate Americans into thinking that they were “fighting” for us but, darn it, we couldn’t get enough votes again.

Taiwan has no plans to take tariff retaliation, and there will be no change in Taiwanese companies’ investment commitments to the United States as long as they are in Taiwan’s interest, he added in comments provided by his office.
Taiwan’s TSMC, the world’s largest contract chipmaker, last month announced an additional $100 billion investment in the U.S.

Personally, I am in favor of severing all ties with China. They are our enemy. They have stolen our technology without compensation.
Much of our country’s research occurs in graduate schools. Banning China makes sense. Otherwise they steal it.
They are sending fentanyl to kill us. They put lead in paint of children’s toys. Nothing is manufactured to ASTM standards, meaning it is substandard maybe dangerous.
The grand experiment to move all u.S. manufacturing to China and increase corporate profits has failed.

If President Trump is able capture deals with the remaining 20%+ of the “smaller” economies and start negotiations with say with India and a few others with leaders who “like President Trump” … the Biggest Opponents are in deep crap and sinking fast … because those Big Opponents have no where to peddle their wares. Also, there is this notion being expressed of “slow down and going after a few at time” does exactly what the opponents of president Trump want … set up a never ending running negotiations with the Bigger Oppoenents that goes no where … by upsetting the WHOLE WORLD ORDER, as the German Chancellor Moaned was happening, President Trump actually creates opportunities that currently DO NOT EXIST in the current WORLD ECONOMIC ORDER for the lesser Economic Powers.
The piecemeal approach all the timid as well as recalcitrant REPUBLICANS and other experts desire is a recipe to have the clock run out and having ZERO achieved …. or the “go slow crowd” have missed how “cooperative” (//sarc) our friends in the EU and China Inc. have been discussing any topic that brings peace and possible mutual economic benefit globally.
