My British husband calls certain dogs “soft mouthed”, a phrase I was unfamiliar with before moving overseas. I thought it was lovely…still do.

so here comes TMI 😂:
“soft mouth” generally refers to a dog’s ability to willingly pick up and carry,
well, pretty much anything (although it originated in reference to game birds)
without puncturing it; or specifically, rendering game unfit for human consumption.
additionally, retrievers must not mouth, drop, drag, pluck, roll, or otherwise roughly handle the bird; they are required to pick it up cleanly and deliver it to hand.
lots of retriever owners regale their friends by having their dog retrieve a balloon
to prove the point. (hint: don’t inflate it fully😂)
however, as much as hard mouth makes a retriever unsuitable for hunting,
an excessively soft mouth does as well.
as most retriever breeds originated in Great Britain,
not surprised your husband knows his stuff.
(the only one i can think of at the moment is the NSDTR.)
Our German Shorthair dogs love the water and will retrieve from from water. They will also slop in every puddle they come to, the muddier the better!

Marti, my sister in law in Wales has a small holding where she had a riding school. And later when she was older, she and her driving partner competed with their carriages.
Now they are in the 80s and have no horses…they were her whole life. She says the same.
Betsy, She is absolutely right. Horses were my life. You never quite adjust to not having them. Much tears and heart ache thinking about losing that part of your life. I am 80 and due to serious health issues could no longer take care of them. My heart goes out to your sister in law. God bless her, I know what she is going thru.

I tend to use honey or maple syrup (only the real deal from Vermont – my mom’s home state) for sweetener. And, sometimes some sort of different spice like nutmeg will give things a distinctive pleasant flavor.

This morninmg I slept through the almost time change. All I had on my plate was a 10:15 appointment with the eye doc (it went well, betw) which I made with time to spare.
Probably that will be my adaptive strategy. Being happily retired I have the wonderful option of just sleeping through the time change, trusting my inner body clock to figure things out . . . when it gets good and ready. So long as I can have my mug of Bustelo, I’m a happy camper regardless of what time it is.
Does the world need to know that this old guy is time behind or time ahead? Well, no. I’ll just poke my nose back under the covers and ignore the clock. And Little ‘Tink , loyal kitty that she is, doesn’t give a hoot so long as she can keep her place on my shoulder. Good kitty. 🙂

Nearby Galveston TX & New Orleans LA were Ports of Entry for European immigrants in the 1845 – 1924. My Great Grandparents (11 – 17 years old) arrived from the Czech Republic – Moravia with their parents and migrated via railroad lines to Central Texas. All came as self-sustaining farmers with strong religious beliefs, commitments to build family strength, and hope for the future. It’s well-worth a visit to this entire area of Texas. Today I am reporting only three things:
1. Trump met a group of hostages in the White House. Some were just released. I will post a short video after this update. Notice the second from left in the video, lost his wife and two daughters and brother and find out about it only upon release. There was a long interview with him in Israel and he is a very strong man and described it all including the torture and beatings. It’s amazing that only a couple of weeks ago he was in the tunnels and now he is in the White House. Anyways, they also gave Trump a special commendation with a huge Thank you. And guess what. See number two on the report that follows below.
2. Trump posted following his meeting:

Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.

I have just met with your former Hostages whose lives you have destroyed. This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance. Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD!

3. The new Chief of Staff of the IDF started his term today. Immediately he appointed a new Operations Chief for the IDF a key position which involves all the War plans and preparations of the IDF to execute them. He choose a General who led the 162 Division of the IDF (Infantry , tanks, etc..) who were the first to enter Gaza and were straight in battle since 10/7, he led many of the battles in Gaza including the conquest of Rafah, Jabalia and everywhere .
A real war hero. He also replaced the Commander of the South Command. The one who will be leaving carries a terrible burden of the 10/7 failure.
The new one was pushed aside after he badly criticized the last Chief of Staff for not conducting a proper internal investigation and corrections for 10/7.
The new Chief of Staff (Eyal Zamir) has ordered to create a new Tank Brigade and examine a possibility to make a new Infantry Brigade. He now also ordered to re-establish the Reconnaissance Units for the Armor and tanks Brigades (a previous Chief of Staff foolishly canceled them).
He also appointed another General to re-examine all the internal investigations of 10/7 and bring new conclusions in a couple of months. This basically dismissing the investigation of the last Chief of Staff who was complicit in 10/7 and appointed his own investigators.
The new Chief of Staff is from Armored Brigades background, this is something new to the IDF. The tanks led the battles in Gaza.
I will post his short speech. It’s actually will give you a good idea in the future when I report about him so I recommend to pay attention to his short speech. It was a good one. This Chief is getting now support both from the Right and the Left. Only time will tell if he was a good choice. So far he looks good. He was in a Military boarding school as a teenager and some have already thought that he will be a Chief of Staff when he was under 18 years old.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

My heart is rapidly pounding
My state of affairs confounding
I am shaking/quaking beyond belief

Something has disturbed my peace
The turmoil inside just will not cease
My energy level is dangerously low
What it is that is broken I do not know
Nothing should change my resolve
I must fight to defeat delete dissolve
This interruption disruption in my life
Meddling unsettling pedaling strife
Alone in the darkness I tend to shiver
Lacking control I slither and quiver
What is wrong with me I cannot say
But it just keeps on and won’t go away
Settle Me, Lord help me to rest
In this condition I cannot do my best

Teach me a lesson from which to glean
Your thought process has brought you here
You gave up your authority my sweet dear
I gave you calming music you listen not
You let ‘it’ control you and you got caught
There is no medicine that can cure ‘it’
There is no formula than can detour ‘it’
I gave you the power to stop this attack
I gave you the means to pick up the slack
Exercise, breathing, and thought control
All of these will again make you whole
Emotional turmoil blocks rational thought
Eliminate it and you will be as you ought
Change your attitude change your life
Positive thinking diminishes strife
Movement replaces emotional confusion
All of ‘it’ is actually an illusion
You can take control and beat your distress
By changing your thoughts eliminate stress
By exercising you switch your concentration
Your physical movement serves as activation
Your shiver and shake ceases to be
Your uncertainty dissolves instantly
Your mind directs your body to move
And your anxiety begins to improve
God gave us the ability to heal mind body spirit
We just need to learn how to clear it not fear it
The body does what the mind commands
It moves it rests it contracts it expands
So it is with emotions as well with control
Our thoughts can trigger disconnect or cajole
Our attitude plays a part in this scenario as well
It is where we decide we are going to dwell
Negative thinking brings about negative outcomes
The opposite is true and to what it succumbs
When we take authority of events in life
We eliminate the stress and the strife
Whatever the problem or issue that disturbs you
It is nothing you and God together cannot subdue
When God enters the situation the solution is clear
You will have eyes to see and ears to hear
So Settle Me, Lord as only You can
Help me to see and perfect Your plan
Take away the illusion of ‘it’
Cleanse me from all and every bit

Reading the comments on Sabine’s u tube vid,
Someone asked why is “the science” trying to fit the theory of general relativity into quantum mechanics, rather than fit quantum mechanics into the theory of general relativity, to which someone replied that quantum mechanics fits observations of subatomic particles quite nicely and is repeatably correct {theorem}, therefore is the standard because the theory of relativity works fine on the “big/planetary” scale but has not been able to be tested at such a “tiny” subatomic scale.
I simply asked what measure of the subatomic particles was applicable to quantum mechanics and yet not applicable to the theory of relativity.
One can either measure subatomic particles, or one cannot.
I surmised that they were conflating measurement with mathematics.
But what do I know, I quit school and got a GED around ’76…
Iirc, I quit before I finished Algebra 2…
To me, gravity is simply the weight of subatomic particles in the atmosphere being drawn towards the Earth’s magnetic core.
God’s Word informs US that,
“Things that are seen, are made up of things that are not seen”
