These cards are being misrepresented. They are issued to gov employees for travel in the employee’s name -but- the employee has to pay the card off in full each month. And the employee gets no typical card perks. They are required to use them for gov travel. The only scandal is the huge benefit given to the card company.

This was going on decades ago. I see nothing has changed.
No one bothered to look? Who was/is responsible for oversight? Start with indictments there.
Frame of reference here. The IRS made it illegal to count these expenditures as business expenditures.
I have to give a big “So What?” The government card is issued in the name of the employee who is responsible for paying it. If the employee doesn’t pay, they can be fired. It is a convenience for employees and it doesn’t matter whether the card is used for office supplies, TVs, or lap dances. Folks seem to assume the government is paying for all purchased items but they are not, employees pay for personal purchases.
I had one of those cards, never used it, would have been court-martialed if I put it to such uses as you assert are permitted and routine.

For the last 70+ years, the government — both directly and through its proxies (press, entertainment, education, etc) — has been conditioning us to view the entire world through the simplistic lens of good guys and bad guys.
Under this Disney-movie-esque paradigm, good guys are always in the right no matter how reprehensible their actual behavior or positions. Bad guys are always in the wrong even if they do something good or take a good or reasonable position.
They require you to pick a side — Ukraine / Russia, Dems/Republicans, whatever. They don’t really care what side you pick as long as you pick one and accept the underlying premise that your side can do no wrong. In this way, half the country will allow you to do literally anything because you’re the good guy. It’s fine if the other half of the country views you as the bad guy because the half backing you will prevent any meaningful consequences.
On the international stage, well more than half the country is willing to accept the US as the good guys, and always good no matter if we are playing both sides of a war, or what we do. So they have to have a boogeyman foreign power. To fill this role, they really have two choices — Russia or China. As the last communist superpower, China is off the table thereby just leaving Russia.
When the US gains some kind of autonomous control of Canada and Greenland and makes trade agreements with Russia, the rest of the world is irrelevant.

Just to be clear, if there is any doubt, President-elect Donald Trump considers both OWS and the ensuing RNA “vaccine” products to have been one of his greatest achievements. This position is non-negotiable. I knew this was the case when I endorsed DJT for president. You can find my logic regarding this summarized in this essay. Note that this endorsement preceded that of RFK, Jr.
Has there been a quid pro quo agreement between RFK, Jr. and Donald Trump? I have no direct evidence or confirmation of this. To be clear, I am only noting the appearance of such, and others have also indirectly alluded to this possibility. Appearances can be deceiving, and being constitutionally unable to read minds (I do have my limits), I can only generate hypotheses to account for observed behaviors. I cannot discern motives.

One small detail- the USPS after Obama got in office, started hiring a yuge number of “diverse” workers. I would check whether any of them got in under “relaxed” standards.

Thing is, the Defense Dept would send insanely detailed specifications for things where you would have to custom engineer, custom source materials, custom build for something that you might sell them 20 of over its lifetime — and generally they’d overestimate the lifetime volume by like 5-10x
So as a supplier you have maybe $50k of costs you need to make profit on for a total volume of 20 over the next decade.

DW: Criminals Are Taking Control Over Our Prisons And Nothing Is Being Done:
“It’s always interesting when the news media, whose job is supposedly to keep us informed, fails to even mention one of the most important stories that’s unfolding in the country. As we’ve seen, the press will devote days of coverage to the plight of federal bureaucrats who can’t respond to a simple email. The idea appears to be that these bureaucrats, as government employees, are entitled to special protections, simply by virtue of working for the government.
But for reasons that no one has explained, these same mainstream media outlets have demonstrated no sympathy — or even the slightest interest — in the ongoing shutdown that’s unfolding in New York’s state prison system. Corrections officers in virtually every single one of New York’s prisons are now on a so-called “wildcat” strike, meaning a strike that’s not approved by the union or allowed by law. This is a strike that’s now in its second week. Nine out of ten corrections officers in the state have walked off the job, saying the working conditions have become extremely unsafe. Prison guards are now constantly being assaulted, and they’ve had enough. As a result, the National Guard has been called in, as part of a desperate bid to prevent a deadly prison takeover, like the one that led to mass casualties in Attica back in the 1970s.
Some of these National Guard units are currently staying in the cells at these prisons in New York. And as of now, it seems likely they’ll be there for a while. Even though New York has offered to double the overtime pay of any correctional officer who goes back to work, it doesn’t look like many of them are taking the government up on that offer.
So how did we arrive at a situation where government employees are encouraged to complain on CNN about an email from Elon Musk, while government employees who say their lives are in danger every time they go to work are being ignored? That doesn’t quite make sense. And it’s especially confusing when you consider the fact that, ordinarily, the fact that corrections officers are refusing to report to duty at roughly 38 of New York’s 42 prisons would be exactly the kind of story that the news media would be interested in. It’s clearly the setup for a potentially significant disaster, and normally the media loves a story like that. But not this time. Why might that be?
If you look into what these correctional officers are demanding, the media blackout starts to make a little more sense. But before I get into the specifics, I want to provide some context first. And I’ll do that by asking a simple question: If you had to guess the average life expectancy of a correctional officer in this country, what would you estimate it to be? For reference, the life expectancy for the general population is around 77 years, which is already relatively low, and it’s still dropping. Law enforcement officers, as a category, have a life expectancy of around 66 years. And that’s obviously pretty bad. But for correctional officers, life expectancy is even lower. In fact, it’s much lower. The average life expectancy for a correctional officer in this country is just 59-years-old. A major reason for that is the stress that the job entails, which leads to a very high rate of suicide.
So already, the baseline is not good. The work conditions, in general, are not exactly ideal. But instead of addressing those work conditions in any meaningful way, in 2022, New York passed something called “The Human Alternatives to Long-Term Solitary Confinement Act,” or HALT Act. This is a law that had its origins in the George Floyd era, and it makes it far more difficult for prison guards to confine dangerous inmates to solitary confinement.” …….

Background: An actuary calculates the odds of various aspects of a population in order to, say, financially evaluate various insurance products. For example, actuaries can very accurately calculate the odds of mortality of various age brackets in a population.
Given this background, what is the difference between an English actuary and a Sicilian actuary?
Like I said, an English actuary can calculate, very accurately, the probability of a number of people dying in various age brackets.
A Sicilian actuary does the same, but, he can also provide the names.
A friend of mine also, of Sicilian descent, says “Sicilians use knives”. LOL.
On a serious note, I recently read that these actuaries can pretty much predict with serous accuracy. when people will die, based on demographics etc…

I’m not a chicken farmer but I am a serious gardener..
Culling chickens doesn’t make any common sense at all- no more than pulling off the top of an invasive weed, leaving the roots there and then thinking you’ve gotten rid of the invasive weed- which is going to simply grow back.
It doesn’t work this way.
If you have a bunch of infected chickens, simply getting rid of the birds isn’t going to solve the problem.
I would think that it would be largely impossible to sanitize where they lived to the degree needed to end the problem.
These are the issues that industrial farming creates..
Growing the same crop over and over breaks down the soils.. all of this.
There is a lot that we’ve done and tried and it’s simply not working.. and we’ve destroyed a whole lot now at this point.
AND, I’m worried about creating flu resistant birds because just like the negative impact that hormones in the cows have created in humans, the same thing will happen with these chickens and eggs that we eat.
You can’t do anything to an animal we eat and then think we’re not going to be impacted by this.
I think that the solution, the only real and lasting one, is to farm these chickens differently.
We really should be returning, and encouraging this, to a lifestyle where people living out here in rural America produce more of their own food.
Then the massive farms can feed the cities and we don’t need as much out here in rural because we’re making a whole lot of our own..
I know this is a big deal, but it seems like the only genuine solution.
Over used fields need to rest and the farmer needs to come up with a crop that will grow somewhere else now while the field rests.
We’re there- as a country- a whole lot simply needs a rest.
We need to do a whole lot of things differently.
I’m hoping that this is where RFK Jr. steers us.. because this seems like the only true and real solutions- to solve issues at the core.
We simply cannot keep going on as we’ve been.
