Wisteria surely is lovely. BUT…..it is incredibly invasive. We loved ours so much we allowed it to climb the mesquite trees at the front of our house. You could smell it coming down the drive.
It grew incredibly fast vertically and eventually bridged all 3 trees together and began to encompass other bushes and trees. The tension actually pulled our entire 70 foot front porch over by a few degrees and we were forced to remove it – no small feat! So, choose its location wisely!

We just changed carriers, dumping Verizon which alerted us they were hiking our charges by a lot. So upon finding another, T-Mobile which was two lones for $60/ mo and ” Free” phones (nothing about free in the sense we could walk out with them and then would be charged monthly until they were paid off) we signed on the dotted line with enthusiasm.
But when they sent the first bill and we could see, we went back and “complained”… in a nice way, pointing out the way their offer was ohrased with no small print. So they did in the end give us free phones…not the latest model, but newer than those had.
It never hurts to press a point.
(When we dropped Verizon after 20+ years of loyalty by the way, immediately they bombarded us with ” offers” which were still way higher than our new carrier. Too late, Verizon…you’ve lost a customer times two. A survey asking why we left pressed the point home. Loyalty is a two way street…right? I think so, or should be 😎)

Spent most of the morning sleeping in. Little ‘Tink, of course, was on my shoulder the whole time. She didn’t move until I did. Good kitty. 🙂
I don’t know what it is, dear friend, maybe the bleak midwinter which February always was for us in Wales, but we can’t seem to gather our energy. A sort of hibernation state. We are fortifying ourselves with fish n chips shortly, our Saturday treat. The van “On the Hook” used to come once a month. But business must have been great because they are with us every Saturday now.
We don’t eat out or shop, so this is our weekly treat which we so look forward to. Reasonable, delicious…then we watch Brit TV and pretend we are back home in Wales. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday night and just about all we’re good for 😂 💕
Please give your sweet sweet Tink some loving from me. Not that I know she doesn’t get plenty from you, but a little more won’t hurt 😉🤗😽

What an affectionate little kitty!..What a huge change from just about a year ago. All, I have to do is say ‘good kitty’ and I’m rewarded with a soft, almost inaudible, purr. She’s the last of our kitty tribe. So glad she’s here with me now . . . 🙂

-As I predicted here, Hamas released the names of three hostages to be released on Saturday. Not more as Trump demanded. Bibi is keeping his vague statements.
His office doesn’t seem satisfied nor unsatisfied. I said that the deal is likely to carry on as it was originally drafted. At least most of it with a possibility for the unexpected.
Note: Will Trump get upset with Bibi for not following his aggressive line?
Probably not, after all there are 9 families anxiously waiting for their dears and there is a good reason to push it through at this point. A couple of more weeks and the First Phase will be over.
-369 terrorists are expected to be released from Israeli prison on Saturday.
Three hundred thirty-three terrorists arrested in the ground maneuver in the Gaza Strip after 7/10 will be released back to the Strip.
Ten terrorists will be released back to the Judea and Samaria territories.
One terrorist to East Jerusalem.
Twenty-five life prisoners will be deported to the Gaza Strip or abroad via Egypt.
-Bibi visited the South Command by Gaza. An unusual long visit (over 10 hours) with the Chief of Staff and his replacer. They went over the plans of attack and approved the plans.
The new Chief is supposed to be more aggressive. We will see. A Deputy Chief of Staff was appointed today. We in the Right are not very happy about the choice. The Defense Minister and new Chief of Staff chose him. There is one who is much more combative which we wanted. But he deserves a chance. His main job will be to rebuild the IDF. An area which he has experience with. The IDF needs a massive change to be ready for the future.
We are looking at potential enemies who are not terrorists, like Turkey, Egypt, Iran and the War on terror is far from ending. The IDF will need to be bigger. This means a bit more time on mandatory service and more of the Ultra-Orthodox religious soldiers who are now exempt.
Note: It looks like the “Hell” that Trump is talking about is in the new plans. But while it’s likely to happen in March. I am not a prophet and things can change by then.
The US:
–I have an unverified report that is likely true. Steve Witkoff the envoy for the Middle East just watched the 40 min horror movie from 10/7. Apparently he was breathing heavy, covering his eyes, emotional. At the end he said that “those Nazis will not be permitted to live by you”.
-Trump’s VP Mr. Vance was in Germany and went to visit the Concentration Camp in Dachau Munich. Note: I visited there. You see the ovens (crematories) where they burned the bodies of those who were gassed to death. About 30,000 were murdered there. Many were there temporarily and moved to the bigger death camps.
-Trump said that he is making a deal with India which is making an export route from India through Saudi Arabia , UAE, , Jordan and Israel to Italy (Europe). This is another help to Israel. This reduces the Iranian/Russian axis again. It also re-routes oil from the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and UAE) and bypasses the Iranian ability to stop world’s oil supply by blocking the existing route that passes through the Parisian Gulf and through the Strait of Hormuz. This is a deal of hundreds of Billions of Dollars and is making the solution of the wars in the Middle East more important. It also will cut off one of Egypt’s main income sources which is money for passing through their Suzetz Canal. I don’t think that this is all about penalizing Egypt for not helping with the Gazans. This is an old plan that I wrote about even before 10/7. In fact one of the reasons for 10/7 was an Iranian attempt to prevent a Saudi normalization with Israel and this plan.
Note: I suspect that Trump may try to change the route through Gaza rather than Israel as a part of his solution to the Gazan problem and with US control on Gaza it will mean billions of dollars for the US on a regular basis (just a thought based on something that I heard before). The Saudi’s and UAE may be willing to invest a lot of money in reconstructing Gaza if it means a new route for their oil and more business overall.
-A Report that USAID gave 3.3M dollars of American tax payer to a Gazan rap singer who is known for his antisemite and hateful songs.
-The Palestinian Authority of the West Bank made a manipulation on the US by “not paying” terrorist prisoners and their families and families of those who murdered and died. They simply re-routed the money to come from another body that is under their control.
The US “appreciated it”.
I am sure that Israel will expose their scam. They are getting a lot of US money and they have to look better.

See picture. Iran is above Saudia Arabia. It is not related to embargo on Iran. It means that the oil and export will not pass in the Persian Gukf that is between Saudi Arabia and Iran. It means the European trade will be passing away from Iran. It means improved routes to Europe.
The Hell that Trump is talking about is the next phase of Israel war in Gaza. The one that will be without the restrictions of Biden and likely a block of humanitarian aide aside from some necessities.

I have always wondered about this.
This is not a criticism, it is a long held curiosity.
Why is it that these exchanges of prisoners (who are often terrorists) for hostages are always SO HEAVILY WEIGHTED in advantage of the terrorists?
Israel gets one person freed, they seem to sometimes get as many as hundreds freed from prison, after they have been sent there after an actual trial.
Why would Hamas NOT continue to take hostages in these circumstances?
I believe it goes without saying that the returned terrorists are celebrated as heroes and go right back to terrorism.

Hamas knows it and see it as weakness and uses it.
In Israel some see it as strength and moral to save hostages at high cost.
The truth is that it makes no sense and it opens the circle for more kidnapping.
Also no death sentence is a part of the problem. Israeli Supreme Court is against it and Bibi never tried to challenge it. He is against it for whatever reason.

Climbed her twice, in snow conditions like that, quite cold, first time she was chuffing alternating clouds of white steam and dark gray ash, got as close to the craters as I could without risking falling into an ice cave hollowed out by the heat.
Second time she had belched out rocks huge and small the night prior, some sitting atop the ice and larger ones staying hot long enough to melt down into it, looked like a moonscape; we picnicked upon one of those big rocks about a meter or so below the top of the ice, sheltering from the wind, scooching around as it was still quite warm, and plotted our separate courses to run if it blew because the mountain was rumbling like a high wind in the trees, only, of course, no trees up there . . .
Looking at the countryside from above it looked as if there were dozens of small volcanoes all around her, steep hills with a crater-like divot in the center of each, but they weren’t that at all, they were once massive clumps of lava ejected in a single blow that as they landed formed that shape, sort of like a drop of milk filmed in slow motion; these forested hills were large enough that there were trails around the lips of the center depressions, I cannot even begin to imagine how huge an eruption must have been to have ejected so many globs of rock so massive that each created such geologic features as to resemble volcanoes themselves.
Saw it blow up pretty good a couple times, but wasn’t this close to it as these lucky skiers then; did have to sweep up after those though, covered our birds in heavy black cindery ash.

It is just a matter of if the storm gets pushed out over the water before it unleashes blizzard conditions and it is too early to tell which will happen.
This is another event Joe has been talking about for a couple weeks, and he’s been pretty bullish on it happening. Finally the UK MET and European models are starting to show it, but others show it going off shore still.
But right now everything is coming together like Joe thought it would. This could be one of those that finds NYC dealing with snowmageddon. Remember the last time that happened? The plows couldn’t move it and so they had to use front loaders to move the snow. People living in their apartments looking down at a front loader tearing the hell out of their cars that were parked along the curb.
My Wunderground (Weather Underground) app currently forecasts a 67% chance of 4″ on the 19th, and a 63% chance of 2″ on the 20th. Nothing else beyond that. My experience has been – it’s pretty accurate when we are only 4 to 5 days out…
However ….the time-lapse radar map looks fairly ominous in what’s coming our way in central Maryland.
Anyway I think you Texans should be thankful that it’s almost certainly going to be much milder than Valentines day 2021.

Many years ago I was privy to a (Harvard?) folding test. After being shown the steps / folds, i was sked to unfold and refold the paper.
Bottom line – it was a kind of memory test. We all have a point at which we mentally say ‘i’ll never remember all these steps’.
Sure enough – each of us reaches that point – and are humbled by the fw that remember all the folds
The end product wasn’t anything like these beautties – it was somethng you put 4 fingers into spaces and made different vies

Commentary for Proverbs 3
13-20 No precious jewels or earthly treasures are worthy to be compared with true wisdom, whether the concerns of time or eternity be considered. We must make wisdom our business; we must venture all in it, and be willing to part with all for it. This Wisdom is the Lord Jesus Christ and his salvation, sought and obtained by faith and prayer. Were it not for unbelief, remaining sinfulness, and carelessness, we should find all our ways pleasantness, and our paths peace, for his are so; but we too often step aside from them, to our own hurt and grief. Christ is that Wisdom, by whom the worlds were made, and still are in being; happy are those to whom he is made of God wisdom. He has wherewithal to make good all his promises.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving In The Evening
Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord

Loving Lord, as the day is coming to an end, I want to thank You for being with me in all that has taken place today. I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.
Lord, I desire to do Your will in all things. I pray that You would cleanse me of any wrong thoughts or attitudes that may have surfaced in my heart today. Wash me in Your cleansing flood, I pray.
Thank You, that You are a God who forgives our transgressions when we are willing to confess them to You, knowing that such cleansing before You immediately draws us back into sweet fellowship with Yourself.

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.

Jill and I are relieved, alongside millions of others around the world, that Sagui Dekel-Chen is finally reunited with his family after 498 painful days. I am proud that the deal we negotiated has held, paving the way for the release of hostages. My thoughts and prayers are with the remaining hostages and their families who have all been through hell.
