Good morning everyone!

This morning I feel inclined to post a little aviation history.

The B-36 Peacemaker was the only aircraft for which an Army Air Force requirement for procurement was issued and the initial design was completed during WW II that was only actually procured by the Air Force after WW II? The requirement for the design was written in November 1941 in an anticipation of the need a bomber that could fly round trip from N. America to Germany and back on bombing missions if Great Britain was defeated and occupied by Germany!

Britain held out and so the aircraft was not ordered until after the war after it’s design was updated. 

It was the largest piston engine aircraft ever mass produced. The only one larger was Howard Hughes’ “Spruce Goose” which was a one off wooden aircraft that could barely get off the water. 

The jets were added to the design after the war to supplement the power for take off when loaded with a full bomb load there by decreasing the length of runway needed to operate the aircraft and thus increasing the number of airfields it could be operated from. 

In case your not counting there are 10 engines!

The aircraft is so large, the main building of the US Air Force museum at Dayton, OH was built around it and other aircraft are displayed under it’s wings.

It only remained in service 10 years (49-59) because it was a transitional aircraft that bridged the period between propeller driven bombers and the jet age.

The funny thing is even when I was in the service in the 80’s I made several jumps out of the C-123 Provider, which was another transitional aircraft that had two radial engines and used two jets for take off power. My first jump with 10th Grp was from the ramp of a C-123, in sub zero temps, at night, with full combat equipment and snow skies.

Some times there is no long way home.

My wife works at an adult care facility and winter has set in. Because of the weather, we have made the choice for her to stay at the facility and care for the old folks other than for her to come home. I only pray that when our time comes, when we are so old that we need the care of caring souls that we have one that cares as my soulfully as my wife does. She has a beautiful heart.

Cold enough this morning to have a fire in the insert.

We froze a bunch of ham and the bone from the one we made for New years and it is now being put to good use to make Ham & Beans. Sherry is making cornbread to go with it.

I personally like to take a piece of cornbread, slice it in half and put it in the bottom of a big bowl and then dip the ham & beans over it and top it off with diced red onion and have another piece of corn bread buttered on the side.

My mouth started watering like one of Pavlov’s dogs, just writing this.

I spent $1,050 on a 90 day supply of 30mg Ivermectin and 100 mg Mebendezole capsules.

Sundance may want to take a look at an EO issued by the President on 2/12/2025. “One Voice for America’s Foreign Relations” calls for the Secretary of State [SecState] to discipline or fire any employee who does not support the President’s policies, to refer commissioned officers [FSOs] to the President for discipline if they don’t support the President, and to completely rewrite the personnel rules and regulations of the Department of State.
As I see Section 4, the President is setting up himself as the final personnel arbiter on performance, especially by commissioned FSOs. I think he is laying the ground work for him to pull his “Presidential Approval” and thus cancel the commission. I can also see him having PER send over to the WH for prior approval all promotion lists. Nothing in the law requires him to approve promotions, especially to and within the Senior Foreign Service. If he refuses to sign the Commission, the promotion doesn’t happen and I don’t believe there is any legal appeal possible, not that some won’t try.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
