Thank you so very much for your kind words. The retina doc visit went well . . . enough. I have some macular degeneration (not surprising since I have 80 year old eyes) but overall the retina doc’s opinion is that I’m good to have the cataract surgery. So, the upside is that I can complete a process that I’ve put off for much to long. Big relief. 🙂

My grandfather came across the ocean from the Netherlands, his bed a sea chest.
My Father is now 97 and I am caring for him and his wife, my mother so that they can stay out of the nursing home as long as possible – it is hard but God is so good!
I have listened to these compositions now, at your prompting a few times and I share your enthusiasm!

God is so good to give us this music played by such dedicated and talented young people. It gives us hope.

My father went quickly, but I was able to care for my mother until the end and she never saw the inside of a nursing home. It was a time that I will treasure forever, and I am SO grateful to have had it with her!!!

I made the decision to quit working to care for my dad in our home. He had just entered hospice. It was simultaneously the worst and best time. Losing him is still affecting me 14 years later, but, though we were always very close, caring for him in the waning time he had left was the gift of a lifetime. I am so grateful 🙏
My wife suffered from advanced Alzheimer’s. I was her caregiver for many years. In all honesty, every day was a blessing. A good part of our shared experience was, I believe, with the help of Our Dear Lord.
I have always been a strong believer and so His presence in our lives was always important. People often talk about care giving being hard. Sometimes, I know it is, but it wasn’t in our case. Our Lord gently took my wife of 55 years home with Him. She just went to sleep and didn’t wake up.
I am so pleased that you like classical guitar music. The first time I heard Segovia I was captivated. Still am. 🙂
Segovia did me in too, early in my teens. As for the caregiving being hard, I didn’t spend one second feeling that way, I just treasured it. You and your wife were both lucky! You are a dear man, my friend…

My son is recovering from an ankle replacement surgery. Unfortunately, his recovery is not on schedule. But……since God is in charge, it has meant that he is the main caregiver for his mother in law who is in the throes of very advanced Alzheimers.
They live an hour plus away, so last night we met them for dinner part way. She is an absolute sweetheart, appreciative of everything, always smiling. Our son is so amazing with her, it brings me to tears. His patience and kindness to her, is so striking. And, he does it all while maintaining her dignity.

Israel Update:
-After Trump met the King of Jordan the King agreed to take some 2,000 ill Gazan children.
Trump took it with respect as it was better than nothing but the pressure is not over.
The King looked hyper stressed, blinking heavily none stop.
-Egypt chose a hard line against the plan to move Gazans to their land (1.8 Million Gazans).
They issued strong statements against it and officials are spreading threats like the idea that “if such thing happens then they will not be committed to the peace treaty with Israel”.
Note: The peace we signed with them in 1979 is a cold peace. Better than nothing but far from optimum. In the streets they still hate us, there is not much collaborations and recently they badly violated the treaty by placing many tanks into the Sinai Desert on the border with Gaza area and other areas. They still conduct their training drills against the potential “IDF enemy”. The size of their army is a concern to Israel.
They just canceled the visit of their President Sisi to the US.
I am not fully aware of the depth of their dependency on US aide. It’s something I need to look into. Their economy is terrible. And now that the Hoothies messed up the shipping in the Red Sea and Suez Canal caused them a serious economical damage. They used to charge billions of dollars monthly for passage in the canal. Not many are passing now.
They have weak spots but their population is not moderate. The Muslim Brotherhood took elections before it was thrown out by force.
Anyways, this is a disrespect of Trump. Trump is not going to be gentle about it.
-Bibi made a statement that “If Hamas won’t return our hostages by Saturday around noon, we will resume the war”. This was a vague statement as no one knew how many hostages he talked about and the first clarifications were “the three who are scheduled to return”.
Then some in his area clarified that he wants “all the 9 living hostages of Phase 1 by Saturday.”
Now we are getting other clarifications that he means “everyone,” like Trump.
This is not unlike Bibi who likes to walk between the lines and leave open options.
He doesn’t want to lose Trump and he doesn’t want to lose the 9 living hostages who have their families waiting. Bibi is now moving forces to and around Gaza. Another Division and some Special Forces. Soldiers did not get to leave to visit their homes as they expected.
Remember what I said: “He will try to persuade Trump to hang on until we get the 9 back.”
-Hamas now issued a softer statement that “They will keep the deal to the degree that Israel will”. They feel the heat. In one day of an attack they will have all their gains ruined and all the civilians back to the south and everything will be back. I am just feeling sorry for the soldiers who are going to conquer areas that were already conquered. But this time it will be done with no restrictions from Biden as before, it will hopefully be the last time.
-Iran issued a stern warning against the US in case it attacks in Iran.
Note: I have a comment here. I saw Trump talks about Iran, about “how he hopes they can reason and make a deal to dismantle the nuclear sites in peaceful ways and have the Iranians have a great life”.

He is completely obsessed with destroying Israel. Regularly and often.

but he did open up to my younger brother, who was career military and reached Captain rank before they RIFd him in a 90s downsizing
Field expedient solutions abound when you spend a lot of time in the dirt. When I would spend time visiting the mortar platoon of my tank battalion, they always could be relied upon to have hot coffee, even in the middle of a cold desert night. The 4.2 inch heavy mortar rounds came pre-loaded with wafers of propellant explosive at base of each round that looked exactly like slices of American cheese from a package at the grocery store. Thn was the nickname of the propellant charges, and the number left on the base of the round depended on the range to target distance the amount of propellant needed to reach that target. The un-used “cheese” was kept after a fire mission because it burned perfectly as a heat source for rations or coffee. It was a perfect solution for immediate cooking needs in the middle of the desert where firewood is hard to find. Only one cautionary problem. If you stepped on it to put the flame out, it exploded. So Kaboom Koffee fires always were just left to burn out…

Biography: James Cash Penney was an American businessman and entrepreneur known for founding the JCPenney department store chain in 1902.
Penney initially worked in a store himself, and then bought a partnership in a new store that his employers were opening. When they dissolved their partnership, he took over the total of three stores thus far.

Biography: Charles Schultz is the author of “Peanuts” the much-loved cartoon series featuring the characters of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and Linus with his blanket.
From a young age Charles Schultz wanted to be a cartoonist. When he initially sold his cartoon “Li’l Folks” to United Feature Syndicate in 1950 its name was changed to “Peanuts”, to avoid a claim on the title from the owner a 1930’s strip called “Little Folks”. Shultz himself never liked the name, and avoided using it conversation.
Peanuts grew in popularity, books were published and in 1965 it appeared on the cover of “Time” magazine. In the same year the first animated TV special was broadcast, winning Schulz his first Grammy award. An off-Broadway show also ran for four years, followed by a musical.
Over the decades “Peanuts” popularity continued, the NASA Apollo 10 mission used Snoopy in its safety program and an animated film appeared in 1969. At its height “Peanuts” appeared in 2,600 papers in 75 countries, in 21 languages. Schulz retired in 1999 not long before his death of cancer but his creation continues to live on and a new 3D computer animated movie was released in 2015.

Years ago, I discovered some writings by a beautiful soul … Ruth Harms Calkin.
Her small, paperback books quickly became some of my treasures.
Ruth’s simple words – in prayer-poem or story-like fashion – are written with heart-felt transparency.
They often “speak” for me (to the Lord).
One particular day, her poem below grabbed my heart.
I framed and kept it on my desk for years.
Tho later, it got moved to the basement.
Recently I saw the poem packed away – and placed it in full view again.
Because each new day, it’s a reminder that I’m still growing in God’s grace and knowledge.
Hope it encourages someone else …

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

After sharing our joy and enthusiasm for the rapidity and trend of recent political events, I started out by exclaiming,
ME: I keep thinking to myself – “what a time to be alive!“
SHE: We chose to be here for this. Not for the faint of heart—! We who are good ppl (Godly ppl) are here to hold His light and tip the world over out of darkness. Your soul always chooses its actions bc your soul is grounded in God Creator.
ME: I’ll bet you if you go out on the street and ask 100 people, 95 of them will respond in doubt or not understanding the concept
SHE: “Of course they will. We’ve all been indoctrinated with spiritual understandings that were designed by the “gate keepers” to keep us from discovering our real natures, our true powers. We’re children of God Creator, and our greater Being always ALWAYS rests in Him. We are never disconnected from Him…unless we pull away and or turn our consciousness from Him.
They can’t control Us if we truly know who we are.…
All of that [good spiritual power] will now start to come back over the next 100-200 years.
Over these dark centuries there’s always been ppl and groups who have reached beyond and rediscovered their true natures as a child of God. But the gate keepers worked hard to eradicate them. Too threatening!
They kept any higher knowledge hidden, occulted, from most ppl, and frankly, over the centuries, they too [the gatekeepers] lost much of the true nature hidden within the information they had.
It became very low frequency and any contact they had with those “not of earth humans” was of a low dark frequency to match. NOT angels and Beings of Light.
All that is changing now, at the end of the Kali Yuga, the end of the Great Year. We are powering UP! Not going to cycle back around via the cyclical catastrophe that the stupid elites are holding as a secret and prepping for….
