Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

This article reminds me of my pet peeve with Kindle books!
I have been reading them for years and the last few years, the free or $.99 cent books all mention the dangers of climate change, even when it has nothing to do with the plots!!
Climate change in a Space adventure type sci-fi book, where everything happens on different planets, still they mention climate change! Even detective mysteries have to mention the dangers of climate change!
It’s almost like it is required to publish… 🤷♂️
There is a good work of fiction that touches on that climate change business, or so I’ve heard elsewhere. And by business, I mean dealing in fearmongering and perpetuation of the the climate change hoax.
I just so happened to be fortunate enough to find a used copy of Michael Crichton’s State of Fear for a good price in a local thrift store. You know the author hit a nerve when the usual suspects panned this book.
Yes what a great read it is. Crichton was a fabulous writer, died way too young.
And he wrote this 20 years ago. Knew what was going on.

If you want an author who is very aware of politics and is on the right side of things, read David Weber. He’s got three series out that I read and re-read constantly: the Honor Harrington mega-series (sci-fi, the politics gets long-winded but he’s right on, the communist stellar system dies and the capitalist one lives, even if it is a monarchy), the Safehold series (sci-fi meets the Enlightenment, starts with naval battles with galleys and ends with steamships, cool characters), and the Out of the Dark series (Earth is invaded, but we get the last laugh – and it’s the only vampire book I’ve ever liked).
He can get very long-winded and could probably stand some editing, but he makes some very good comments on politics and political systems. I believe he lives in South Carolina.
It about IS. I used to have a copy of a book, forget what its called, but its for writers, and it lists publishers, literary agents, etc.
You read it, and each one it seems like, is “looking for stories that include gay or trans elements, and demonstrate the inevitable effects of climate change,…” and other leftist drivel.

Kindle/Audible are all I get anymore since my eyesight started to go (I save reading time for CTH and similar). It’s not just the publisher it’s the authors and subjects you choose.
Fiction and non-fiction alike seem to have obligatory digs at President Trump, and sometimes it looks as if it was added after the fact to get the book accepted for publishing.

Btw, my New Year’s resolution was to change all my passwords and fortify my 2FA strategy. In addition to my user name and password, I use a security key (Yubikey) whenever I can and authenticator apps (FreeOTP and Symantec VIP) when I can’t. All the major mobile providers have been hacked so I no longer trust 2FA text messages. Selling your information is just too tempting for low-paid remote workers. Even if caught, the employers probably prefer not to press charges and incur negative PR.
Ours has also been frozen for years. Its the only way to go. No need to pay for monitoring services such as Lifelock (which strikes me as a target rich environment for hackers anyway).

It won’t be easy. One of the main challenges in the hydrocarbon processing industry is demographics. Too many experienced employees have retired. The green scammers (e.g., Just Stop Oil) have vilified folks who want to study petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, etc. President Trump needs to prioritize these fields of study so we can fulfill his “Golden Age” promise for decades to come. Perhaps shows like “Landman” will help. Some of the lines delivered by Landman’s main character (Billy Bob Thorton) are spot-on. Refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is another “A” priority. Much work remains.
The boom and bust cycles destroyed a lot of petroleum engineering careers. When times were “ bust” it was often the oldest, most experienced ones who were terminated since they were usually the highest paid. Even when the recovery came it was difficult to be hired for anyone over 50 yrs old.
After the whipsaw of boom and bust, companies are hesitant to overreact to higher prices now. They aren’t quite so gung ho about overreacting and over drilling. When gasoline is dirt cheap at the pump, what you can’t see is the damage being done to an industry.

Oil markets are not simple. Due to environmental regulations, we ship some of our heavy oil overseas and bring in lighter oil for use in the US. Also, different types of refineries are required for different oil.

Whenever people talk about the “dangers” of raw milk. Ask them two simple questions how many documented deaths have there been from raw milk? How many documented deaths have there been from pasteurized milk?
