Heartwarming story – always love happy endings.
When I was moving with the wasband, one kiddo, and 3 kitties from CT to AZ, we stopped in Knoxville, TN., whereupon one of my kitties, Peeper, slipped out of his harness in the large enclosed motel courtyard! After frantically searching without success and many tears, we seriously considered staying in Knoxville for however long it took: even up to making Knoxville our final destination. I know it sounds crazy to many, but I just couldn’t imagine continuing on and leaving him there. Our next search found him cowering in a doorway to the outside on another floor. Thank the Lord. Threw those harnesses out!

Here’s one, I had a cat when I was under 9. My dad even took one of those wooden, longer than a milk carton things and built her a travel cage. We went on a trip from Palo Alto, CA to Monterey. She got out of the house and when we were ready to leave, she was nowhere to be found. We finally left her there (to return in a few weeks), and two weeks later I was outside and heard her meowing and meowing. I walked towards the noise, and she had traveled over the mountain and back to the house, but somehow got herself locked in the next door neighbor’s garage. I rang the bell and they let her out, and she NEVER DID THAT AGAIN! 🤣❤️

I know! It was crazy! I think what happened is when ever she arrived, our garage door was down, so she went to them, she did know them and any port in a storm? But they must have closed there’s at some point and she got locked in. They slept later than we did so…
They were as baffled as I had been, but for a different reason, when they answered their door and I asked if they would please open THEIR garage door to let MY cat out! 🤣

Good afternoon, Corny. My little chiweenie can slip out of most anything, including the jacket type harnesses. He’s like Houdini. I’ve had 2 scary, heart stopping moments with him slipping collar or harness. First was in busy San Diego at my step mom’s. I’d left him in the back yard with hubs to go out front to visit with family out there. Next thing I know Tucker runs by me headed up the sidewalk. Hollering at him makes him panic. I sat down on the sidewalk and called him in my regular voice. Thankfully, in all the commotion he heard me, stopped and came running back to me. I carried him around the rest of the day. Definitely added to my white hair that day. The second was similar at a motel. I had out to do his business. He slipped the harness and took off down the motel driveway running alongside a minivan. Called him to stop and again he heard me, turned and came running back to me. He’s always been a panicky little guy, fearful of lots of things, crowds, loud noises, etc.
I’m so grateful we still have him, now at 17 and still going strong.

‘Enjoyed the laughs before I start the morning. Probably will be missing the workout today. Busy Lizzie needs help with the taxes and at 1 our ranch guy and I will be insulating the rain water pump house. It’s done fine through the cold with a heat lamp and a little heater but I have that roll of insulation sitting in the middle of it and getting in my way. 🤣

This is so true!! Twice in our thirty years of breeding German Shorthair Pointers we had people come to look at puppies that our dogs did NOT like. Needless to say we did NOT sell these people a puppy!!
Even tho these dogs are hunting dogs, we only sold to people that were going to keep them in their homes. These dogs are very family loving dogs. We bought back several of our dogs that did not work out in their new homes. They were still our baby puppies.
They just know, Marti… a sense given to them that we do not have. They will tell you when there is something amiss. I love how you were so attuned to it with your pups. And it warmed my heart that you were insistent on their living IN homes.
My original husband has hunting dogs which live exclusively outside. I despise telling this…he stopped by our house after a hunt to pick up a saw for his lad which Chris gave them. When we saw him off we discovered one of his dogs he had locked in a solid box in the back of his truck asnif were a piece of equipment. When he saw I was horrified, he said this dog was used to it…I’ve never been able to forget it.

It was a constant struggle against the old myth that hunting dogs would not hunt if you brought them into your home and made them part of your family. All our dogs are raised in the house and they are all ( we still have 2 ) great hunting dogs.
When my grand daughter was small she learned to walk by holding onto Angel’s tail. When she fell down, Angel would stop and wait for to get back up and then continue walking her around the kitchen. Angel was a fantastic dog and a great mom! She loved her human family and her puppies. I am sorry I am unable to post pictures. I have some of grand daughter Elise helping to deliver puppies when she was four years old. Each baby in its own little bubble wrap. Great memories and they still bring tears talking about them.
Our precious dogs leave those indelible paw prints in our hearts. There isn’t a one who has loved a dog and has been loved by these devoted animals who will say otherwise. Our branches are filled with the stories of love and loss of them…the videos I’ve seen. I don’t need a picture of your precious grandaughter and sweet mothering, guardian Angel, Marti, to see why the memory brings tears…Im feeling a few of my own 💕

I’m in line for cataract surgery but that can’t happen until I get a retina consult. Boring, boring, boring. These things can take 2 or 3 hours. I long for some quiet time. Can I humbly offer a little advice regarding cataract surgery? I scrubbed many thousands of them in a former life and was certified as an ophthalmology technician in the office also.
Please spend time and have discussion with your surgeon regarding the choice of your implant (intraocular lens).
There are many options. Some can act like a progressive glasses lens and give good vision at all distancees: others can correct astigmatism. Some patients choose to have their implant “set” for distance or near exclusively. Very important to ponder your preference.
Wishing you the best with your retina consult. Retinas are really complicated structures. I was fortunate to work with very talented retina surgeons – so much can be done that was not available not so long ago. Please let us know. ❤️ 🙏

I understand cataract surgery is life changing, Garrison. I’m not there yet. But oh my gosh do I understand boring, boring, BORING!! The appointments, the waiting (in intervals…first sit in the waiting room, get moved to the exam room, wait some more…then some more…then as you have to do a referral…wash, rinse, repeat).
When I broke my wrist on a Christmas Eve years ago, they couldn’t/wouldn’t operate within a reasonable time to repair the severely displaced fracture. Nooooooooo. Visit the orthopaedist in his office, schedule surgery…then the hoop jumping. And t was four weeks until the wretched thing was fixed.
I hear you loud and clear. UGH…
I am waiting with you in absentia, but “there” in sympathetic and empathetic spirit 🙏🏻💕

English chemist, theologian and author who discovered oxygen and carbonated water, dies at 70
Biography: Born into a dissenting family who didn’t confirm to the Church of England, Joseph Priestley remained a influential religious free thinker throughout his whole life and his religious unorthodoxy would play a large part in shaping his scientific inquiries.
Priestley initially became a minister and a teacher, publishing an important book on English Grammar in 1761. He then became interested in electricity and after encouragement from the visiting Benjamin Franklin began experiments on what he considered unanswered questions in the field. Priestley went on to discover 10 new gases including oxygen in 1774 which he called “dephlogisticated air” (now also considered independently co-discovered by Carl Wilhelm Scheele). He was awarded the prestigious Copley Medal as a result in 1773.
While travelling in Paris he met the French chemist Antoine Lavoisier and told him of his discoveries. Lavoisier went on realize the oxygen’s central importance and gave it its name. Priestley disagreed with Lavoisier’s findings and continued to defend his alternative Phlogiston theory.
In 1780 in Birmingham he became part of the Lunar Society, that included potter Josiah Wedgwood. Priestley designed a device to produce carbonated water for the first time in an effort to aid against disease.
Priestley’s support of Unitarianism and support of the French Revolution led to heated opposition toward him in England and in 1791 a mob destroyed his house and he and his family fled to London. He later emigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania where he lived until his death.

Sadly, he came from a very “respected,” pricey, well-known dude ranch in Tucson. They had given up their retainer vet care and their policy of literally putting their old trail horses out to a peaceful pasture on their property. After they have sucked the value from their horses, they now send them for “processing.” Shame 😔
Beyond shame. These animals give us their lives and all their love and they deserve so much better. Next week I’ll post one about a horse with a similar situation. No disturbing images, just his story is enough to make you wonder how people could be so callous.

I was going to skip the day as not much new to talk about and I prefer facts than speculations. But quite a few of my American friends asked me for my opinion so I guess the Trump’s idea for Gaza is of interest. So I will say a few words.
First of all there is an aspect of justice that gives Israelis a relief. The mental effect is huge even by itself. Trump has a way of shifting the awareness of people by highlighting the obvious which was accepted as a norm.
There was a lot of injustice in the way Israel which was attacked so badly was also attacked by the ICC (International Court),
media, Collages, UN and covertly by Biden and his team. It is unjust to discuss a Palestinian State as an award for what they did. And by the way I am still withholding from you a lot of what they did because it is too horrifying to be read. So yes he is giving us a feeling of relief by standing with us against a cruel enemy. And he brought to awareness the fact that those people refuse to change and choose better ways than murder and war and we can’t just go on.
As to his actual idea. The public does not know the details. But the idea that Gaza is a prime real estate on the beach was already mentioned by him and his advisors in his first term. Knowing him pretty well by now I am sure that he thinks about leveraging this for the benefit of the US. This means that American companies will be involved in the project and will get tens of billions of dollars from rich Arab countries. Also Americans will hold prime properties like Hilton Hotels, etc…
And by the way Gaza is really a demolition zone. The footage is quite amazing.
Now I said that this is against the Arab feelings and thinking and already there are coordinations against it between the involved. Egypt announced a strong opposition, so did the Jordanians and Palestinians and the Saudis said that “no diplomacy with Israel without a Palestinian State. And “no displacement of Palestinians”. So the whole thing is a test of Trump’s will, how much he wants it and what is he willing to do for it? And I could have left this question as the only part of this update. This is the actual situation. It’s really on him to prove that those were not just unrealistic words.
So yes, I am leaving it here, the idea is great, the application is against some strong and coordinated forces. So we will see.
But there is a feeling of great friendship not only between Bibi and Trump, but his all team and the Israeli team.
And as I said, even if nothing happens, he shifted conventional thinking and Hamas is already anxious and mentioned that “They are willing to talk with Trump’s people”. They will be in a more amendable frame of mind for negotiations.
Israel will insist to disarm them. They will refuse. The war is not over as I said. At this stage the intention is to release as many hostages as possible without ending the war and withdrawing.

Ariel would have been 5 and Kfir just 2 years old if they survived captivity. The report is true. I said it earlier that “it doesn’t look good”. They are probably dead. Hamas will say that “it’s from the Israeli bombs”. But this is from Al Jazeera which is a propaganda arm of Hamas so it’s not final, Hamas lied in the past about “a dead hostage” who turned out to be alive. I would say that the chances that they are alive are slim. In a couple of weeks we will know.
This is a foolish time for them to publish it as Trump is now looking on Gaza and this will only make his resolve stronger.

“May you have hope!” reminded me of a song that you might enjoy.
It’s called, “Hold The Hope,” by Lightning Lucas.
It’s a song about other people coming alongside and holding the hope for us, when we are struggling to have hope.
It’s about the journey of recovery, whether from addiction, or brain health issues, etc. But the concept of someone else holding the hope for us while we are struggling – with whatever – is what made me think of you in this situation.
You can picture all of us holding the hope for you, and standing with you, praying for your healing.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
