I don’t know, I think voting Trump was a mistake: I can’t handle all the winning and break-neck speed of everything that is happening. There’s no way Sundance could address everything. In California we locals lost safe access to our traditional hiking/camping areas in the santa lucia mountains after they were infested by cartel pot growing operations and folks got shot at.

I was just gearing up for a major rant after an experience I had in a supermarket pharmacy this afternoon, and I was thinking about the abysmal state of ‘health care’ which seems to be getting worse by the day, ans I was also thinking how this wasn’t really a president’s job, but maybe he could light a fire under Congress or something.
Then I was thinking wouldn’t this be something for the HHS Secretary to concern himself with, but I also thought, do we really want Bobby Jr. to try to fix this problem, because I think we all know the kind of “fix” he’s come up with.
Then I saw this- somebody else was thinking along these lines too, and was trying to get Nicole and Bobby to have a look at this proposed solution and maybe share it with the president. I haven’t seen anybody propose something better, and I sure as heck don’t want something like Medicare for all:

I saw that when Deninger wrote it. I sent copies to my Representative and both Senators. Got back nicely worded form letters that basically said “thanks, but no thanks”.
Deninger hits it on the head…..until you get ALL third party payers out of the system, nothing of substance changes.
I only have medicare hospitalisation, nothing else. I just went thru major medical care, and the hospital gives every patient who “self-pays” a 65% discount, from what they charge those who have Insurance.
This says to me, they have calculated that for them to collect from Insurance, it costs them 2/3’s again as much.
And, I saw all.sorts of ways in which they, used to having Insurance pay, were doing it the “way they always do it” until I said “No, I am not paying for that”.
The problem I have with this proposed approach, of writing new laws to require providers to do this and that, is the real problem we have is with We, the People, or in this case the patients.
WE need to take responsibility for our health, instead of abdicating that role, either to the “Healthcare providers” or to the Gummint thru Drs and lawyers.
Get the gummint, and the lawyers, Drug Companies, accountants and administrators out of the examining room.

Perfect example, in my case an endoscopic exam would be quite sufficient to insure the Cancer is gone, and $500 vs several 1000.
However, I can’t get anyone to DO the endoscopic exam..
and truthfully, given my weight gain and energy, etc. I am quite confident its gone.
If I had insurance, they would schedule me for a PET scan every 3 months, for the next two years, and most people would go along with it.
For me, its one and done, and I really think even this one is unneccesary.
They are so test dependent, for a whole host of reasons, that they don’t use logic or common sense…
Man I hear you about test-happy white coats.
Cost aside, some of them order up such procedures like they have total indifference to the stress, discomfort and risks they can pose for the patient.
And don’t even let me get started on the costs.
I hope you don’t need to drive a long way to get this done.

Let’s face it: the present text of the 14th Amendment was written 157 years ago. It was written after the conclusion of a disastrous Civil War. And, the authors were focused solely upon that.
It still astonishes me that our nation has been very reticent to invoke the “Constitutional Amendment” process, even though our Founders wisely gave us several ways in which to do it. The most-recently enacted Amendment was actually “line #2” in the original Bill of Rights document!
Instead of convening a process to decide exactly what “the Constitution, today,” means to us, we engage in a hopeless pastiche of “Judicial decisions.” Many of them also made “a very long time ago,” yet quoted today as Scripture.
“The problem of what to do when an illegal person hurries across “a line in the sand” and there “has a baby” was never contemplated … 157 years ago.
But, we should be unafraid to edit those original Amendments. It must be done “wisely,” but IMHO it’s far better than the chaos that we have right now.
I don’t see how they could carefully exempt the children of diplomats at the UN from birthright citizenship, in the 20th century, and leave it alone when it came to babies of communist Chinese women who deliberately overstayed their visas.
