David, I did get a wonderful experience as the preparations were made to gather and transport these young women to their final destination. I was checking every site on the internet constantly and could get no rest when the names were not being put forth as the designated time for the ceasefire approached. So between 8am and 11:15am Israeli time, I began to feel as if this event would not take place.
So I just happened to be watching a strange occurrence(which was 5 heavy bulldozers pulling into a site and starting to move trash and rubble from the “makeshift road”) blocking all vehicles from movement or passage through unless you were on foot in one of many videos I had on my screen. The cellphones were pulled out taking photos, everyone was acting busy, handshaking happening…and I was thinking that this was very odd just to do street work.
Well lo and behold a donkey pulling a very heavy load appears to be heading in the very direction of what is happening onscreen directly into the camera view. Suddenly as the donkey is halted, three smaller young women dressed in similar outfits as the two older plumper women on the cart, jumped from the cart on the right side and the older two frantically unloaded from the left side trying to catch up to them.
The younger women were guided into an ambulance on the opposite side of the road from where they had disembarked from the cart and off they headed back into the direction they had just came from. Then everyone started disappearing and everything became normal.
At this point, 11:15am Israeli time, news came with a message that the ceasefire was in place and shortly after, Gaza released on newsite the names of the young women that were being released.
I finally was able to close my eyes to get some rest so I could view the release taking place later that afternoon.
Btw, this occurence took place in Gaza City somewhere close to the route the Red Cross vehicles took with the hostages 🙂 And your video let me connect the dots.

I have agonized over whether to post this story today, given its historic celebratory proportions and the joy it is bringing us all. In the end, I decided to honor Leo and even selfishly seek comfort for myself and my broken heart. So please forgive the length and the possible intrusion into an otherwise glorious day.
I met this rather beat up dirty gray ginger kitty 6 or 7 years ago, when he showed up at the always open kitty food station we maintain for just such visitors. He was, of course, wary: and took a circuitous path to the food. Gradually, he became more friendly, began to put some flesh on his bones and even cleaned his coppery fur till it shone.
One day, he showed up on the patio, head swollen and bleeding, walking on 3 legs as he held the other off the ground. I tried to trap him to take him to the emergency vet, but he evaded every attempt. Eventually I left him a bowl of water infused with a large amount of colloidal silver – and prayed. He finally came back 2 days later and was almost completely healed! Hallelujah!
After that, he was my pal: sitting in my lap, rubbing up against my leg. Always though, he went back to the horrible place he lived with people who left him outside in every kind of weather.
Finally, those people moved out in the middle of the night, leaving Leo (as I had named him) and about 15 to 20 other cats to fend for themselves. Most began living in our very large garage. Leo and two of his pals, Zane Grey, and Spats, were friendlies and were incorporated into our crew. We trapped almost all the cats (and their kittens), had them spayed and neutered, and brought them back.
Leo became Bad Bad Leo after my Aspy grandson heard Bad Bad Leroy Brown on the radio – and it stuck.
Yesterday afternoon, Lloyd went out to bring Bad Bad in for the night. He was on his chair on the patio – his sunny spot. He looked as though he were sleeping peacefully – but, he was gone. He had slept on my feet with his buddy, Ozzie the night before, eaten his breakfast with gusto that morning and even kissed my face.
I can’t decide if my heart is made of lead or completely empty – or is gone with him for now.
I am sorry if this has burdened anyone unnecessarily – but, if you have a moment during today’s celebrations, please say a prayer for a very fine, loyal, brave, loving kitty named Bad Bad.

A new paper in the Christmas issue of The BMJ — a special edition of the medical journal that can include lighthearted or outside-of-the-box research — tells how the nameless corpse became a CPR manikin and earned the title of “the most kissed girl in the world.”
“Every year we have to carry out mandatory CPR training which utilizes these mannequins,” Dr. Stephanie Loke, co-author of the feature and a dental trainee at Liverpool University Dental Hospital, in Liverpool, U.K., told Live Science in an email. She and her co-author Dr. Sarah McKernon, also of the university’s School of Dentistry, “simply wondered who the face was!” she added.
The pathologist who performed her autopsy was so taken with her serene expression that he had a model maker create a plaster “death mask” of her face. The mask was replicated and sold. In fact, the Lorenzi model makers, who, according to the paper authors made the original death mask, still sell copies of it today under the title “Noyée [Drowned Woman] de la Seine.”
In the late 1950s, when medical students were just starting to learn and practice CPR, Archer Gordon, a member of the American Heart Association”s CPR Committee, realized that a CPR dummy could save medical students from the unnecessary pain and potential rib damage of practicing CPR on each other. To manufacture such a thing, he and a Norwegian colleague sought the help of Norwegian toymaker Åsmund Laerdal.
It turned out, Laerdal had seen a reproduction of “L’Inconnue de la Seine” on the wall of a relative’s house, and he decided to give the CPR manikin the same face. Thus, in 1960, when the Laerdal company built the first CPR manikins, “L’Inconnue de la Seine” became “Resusci Annie,” the CPR dummy, or Resusci Anne, as Laerdal refers to the doll on its website.
Winston: Laerdal, a global company, is a leading maker of medical mannikins and anatomical models.
