First more student loan forgiveness.the article lists several Biden justifications for this program including schools that do not provide education of any value so students should have their loans forgiven. I wonder if that should include public school graduates that are graduated not even able the read at grade level. A second article about he DOE granting loans to states that will implement Green Technologies to improve their grid. I wonder where did the DOE get the authority to do that and why does it have to be Green Technologies. Why not the Best Cost Effective Technology.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that the office of the President does not have the authority to forgive student loans – so that’s just going to be more eye-opening for when those students discover they still have to pay their bills;

I calculated (roughly estimated) that 0.1% (1 in 1000) of the people who voted for Trump watched the Hegseth confirmation hearing. The “primary threat” is greatly exaggerated because even most conservatives don’t pay attention at even REMOTELY the level which we do here and RNC/GOP/DNC/Swamp money can overcome grassroots movements. They will protect their own and those are not MAGA candidates.

I’m not the expert but my experience in Virginia is the open primaries. But then to circumvent this, the Republicans will more frequently go to a convention, where delegates do the voting (rank choice no less). To be a delegate, you have to apply, and delegates are vetted before being selected. This makes it very hard for MAGA candidates to succeed. The GOPe is entrenched in Virginia and their primary task is to maintain the status quo. Regardless whether the primaries were open or closed, the Republican GOP will continue with the convention system (I believe).

Winston, as you know, in the primaries the GOP will use a splitter strategy and put 10 or more candidates on a primary ballot. The strategy is to flood the primary with so many candidates that the most conservative candidate will get lost and knocked out of the runoff with the RINO incumbent.
For example, in one of the 2018 primaries for a Texas Congressional seat there were 18 names on the ballot.

Have had questions lately about buying or rebuilding on burned land. Sometimes the deals can be good, even years later. In ‘16 fires destroyed 3K+ cabins in Gatlinburg, TN. In ‘20 I started buying land in area & looked at lots that homes had burned down. This is what I learned:

Regardless of the supposed streamlining of the vast permit and regulatory obstacles to rebuilding they promise, replacement costs will be MUCH higher than the original cost thanks to housing bubble v2.0 caused mainly by Fed policies, a bubble which is MUCH greater than v1.0 and many aren’t even insured. So, expect apartments.

They have to provide materials in every language of every child that enters the schools, for one.

Not all the spending is wasteful, but it’s hard to ferret out the waste when there is politics involved.

If the private schools tried to give some of these kids a quality education, they’s end up having to spend more too.
They can just kick out or not admit the tough cases.
I’m not saying there isn’t waste in the public schools, but they have to spend money the private schools don’t, and they have to admit all children.
At one time insane people were put in asylums. Now they run bureaucracies, get elected to Congress and Senate. What is it normal people think sane results?

Canadian member of Parliament Pierre Poilievre is likely the next Prime Minister of Canada. He wants to build refineries and LNG plants for exporting outside of America. In scanning this, it would seem the paragraphs on pages 9 and 10 will be beneficial in the other cases currently before the Court for the people suing the govt because they were blocked, silenced, deplatformed because of their views, comments, posts about the vaccines and other hot topic issues.
It seems to be a fairly narrow ruling staying focused only on the intent of the law Congress passed to protect the US citizens from a foreign nation’s control potential.
This decision is utterly bad and NOT supported by the Constitution, which is supposed to be the basis for Supreme Court decisions. There is NO NARROW, a precedent is a precedent … for the FUTURE, from today forward … this sets a precedent to “ban any media outlet” that the government sees as harmful to national security and citizens. There is not a single media outlet, traditional nor social” that cannot be categorized as a threat to national security or harmful to citizens; depending who in government is doing the defining and if the Federal Government’s enforcement entities agree.
This is the Supreme Court dipping it’s corrupt fingers into the realm of regulation, and has no foundation in Rights and Authority.

Having watched many confirmation hearings, I’ve come to loathe the grandstanding and not allowing the nominee to answer the question. The excuse is always “I dont have the time for your answer”. I have a solution.
Treat the time limit like a chess match. (The clock goes back and forth based on your turn). The time limit for the Rep or Senator pauses to allow the nominee to respond to the question. That way, there is no excuse to cut off nominee responses.
I can’t imagine the left going for that, unfortunately. The left seeks to grandstand and does not want answers to the questions. (maybe the exception is hazy Mazie. She seems always to want to know if someone on the right has sexually assaulted someone… strange fixation).
Oh, and nominees should reserve the right to push back on inappropriate questions with ones of their own. 🙂

Sometimes it’s the opposite problem where the witness wants to filibuster the questioner and would talk for hours if allowed to.
When that happens I always want the questioner to just say to the Court Reporter, “would you please read the question again?”
It points out that the question wasn’t answered but gives the witness a second to do so. And is far more polite than mischaracterizing what the witness said by “I’ll presume by that that you don’t want to answer the question” which I heard repeatedly yesterday.

Gibson was recently on Joe Rogan’s podcast and referred to people he claimed were personal associates who all had cancer and no longer do — and used certain drugs off-label and either did not use “mainstream medical” treatments or tried them first and they failed but these succeeded. There are many others who have made similar claims. The plural of anecdote is not data but Gibson’s appearance has definitely resulted in a panic among the “industry”, especially in Canada which felt a need to claim he was full of crap in a public post on “X”.
Unlike many of the obvious quack-quack things claimed over my life this particular combination has mechanism of action plausibility. This of course does not mean that it in fact works and further, nothing works every time for any condition.
Cartels, however, hate competition. This is, at the core, what’s wrong with “medicine” in the western world; we have enabled and grown cartels, which incidentally is seriously (felony-level) illegal in the United States. All you need to do to figure out whether something is a cartel, by the way, is simply observe whether you get more (better and/or faster) for less (cheaper) or if both results and cost are going the other way. If they are going the other way its a cartel every time because human ingenuity means all things trend toward one or more of better, faster and cheaper.
In fact that is the definition of productivity — getting more from less.
The confounder at getting to truth on this lies there: Cartels that would be destroyed if this particular set of results is true because their product or service in comparison would not have any value and thus they will do anything they can, legal or not, including lying that causes people to die, to protect their income stream. In fact they would slaughter people wholesale if they could to protect their livelihoods.
Of course whacking a movie star is not exactly something you’re likely to get away with; that’s the tempering factor in that if they did that and got caught being behind it, whether proved or simply plausible, that would be end of the game for them. But screaming quack-quack and going after any physician who believes in it, including trying to punch their ticket is risk free.

-It has a filter on as a default setting for photos, videos, live. I had to turn it off to record. VERY WEIRD standard.
-“Explore” section is INUNDATED with anti-American agitprop.
-Western people are posting on there as “Tik Tok refugees,” claiming America is a censorious regime.
