It can hardly be said any better than Spurgeon has said it.
Unless we take the words of our Saviour from Luke 18:26-27 when our Lord was asked by some of those who heard Jesus speaking to a young rich man, said, “who then can be saved?”
Jesus responded, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”
Perhaps we can understand this “chosen” thing a little better from this: Way, way back, God “asked” the Angles who are appointed over the then 70 nations (plus 1) “who among you will receive My Word?” Each of the “nations” replied “Let us see what it is before we answer”. For example one looked at “though shall not steal” and replied – are you kidding, that’s what we do, its who we are. Another looked at “thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife” – sorry no can do. So each in turn found their inner reason which would be contrary to their core being. Only one (the Hebrews) – at that time the most lowly of all the nations, replied – “We will do – no matter what You tell us, we will do – before we see what it is.” Thus was born/created “the Chosen”. How we answer the eternal question is just as valid today.
Your ‘contributions’ to clear, Bible-based Christian posts are like someone from outside walking over a clean floor with muddy boots.
There can be many “contrived correlations” made from the scriptures, but these always lead to heresy.
(Note: not only is election humbling, but it is also the source of everlasting peace knowing we had nothing to do with being one of that chosen people group (other than being sinful in our depraved state), and we can do nothing to loose our new state of being In Christ.

I did a quick search and you can’t get a “non-sparking” mower blade off amazon, which is one of the new rules.
I don’t see a weed whacker would be useful on the dead brush that is there as I know my weed whacker will barely do heavy green grass.

Here in Tulare County, CA (Central Valley) it is required by the county that non-city residents MUST have all weeds down by the first week of June. It’s been that way for a very long time and it’s purely for fire control.
If you don’t get your weeds down the county sends in county workers to do it for you. You know, 6 people there, 2 working and 4 directing and they put the cost on your property tax bill.
The next several days are supposed to be mid 60s and I will be out mowing down my almost 2 acres. The weeds are already up growing nicely, about 8-10 inches high now but it’s been too wet and cold to mow. If you wait till April- May to mow the weeds are almost 2 feet tall, very dry and a miserable dirty job to do.

We are all but out of water here in Tulare County. Between the state dumping all rain/snow water into the ocean as fast as they can and Tulare County allowing far too much growth for the ground water we used to have we are literally running out of water.
Where I live out of town you are required to buy at your expense a gauge to monitor and record all water you use. The water is not free anymore. You must pay a fee to the county (state, administered by the county) dependent upon your water usage from your well.
There is one exception. If you own less than 2 acres you are exempt. Whew!!! I am allowed one acre foot of water usage per year. That’s just shy of 326,000 gallons per year. Somewhat over 800 gallons per day.
The state of CA has destroyed over 100 dams in the state. Gotta give that water to the fishes dontcha know. No more saving the water and letting it soak in to recharge the ground water.
Newsom tries to blame it on global warming. It’s all about creating false shortages in order to limit and control people.

In 1881 Earp, along with his brothers Morgan and Virgil Earp and together with Doc Holliday faced off against cowboys the Canton gang. Three of the Canton gang were killed and Morgan, Virgil and Doc were injured.

Took a break to check the schedule for Inauguration Day (planning a party). Looked at some sites, then looked at the Marine Band site because I figured they’d have more precise timing. Couldn’t believe the mistake I found!

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Evening Prayer For Forgiveness
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.

Evening Prayer For Future Guidance
Heavenly Father, as I lie down to sleep tonight, I pray that You would guard my sleeping and protect my mind from wandering thoughts and unnecessary planning. Teach me to wait for Your perfect timing and not to try to plan my future in my own strength.
Lord, I know that You have scheduled every day of my life. Help me to trust You in all things and rely on You to lead me along the straight path and guide me in the direction that You would have me to go.
Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing, and may I not trust in my own abilities and scheming, but rather rest in Your love and trust my future into Your hands.
And so now Lord, I commit this night to you, asking that I would rest soundly and wake refreshed and strong to do Your bidding. This I ask in Jesus’ precious name,

Heavenly Father, as the day is drawing to its close I ask that Your continued love and presence be with me and with all that are Your children in Christ. Guard us through the long hours of darkness this night I pray, and keep us safe from all harm and dangers that may try to cross our threshold.
Give us, I pray, an untroubled night of rest and quietness of heart. May we be refreshed and renewed in body, soul and spirit as we rest our weary hearts in You through the hours of the night.

Scientists found more than 30 trees approximately 3100 metres above sea level – 180 metres higher than the present tree line – while carrying out an archaeological survey on the Beartooth plateau in Wyoming. This “offers us a window into past conditions at high elevations”, says Cathy Whitlock at Montana State University. Whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) don’t grow at this elevation now, so these ones had to grow at a time when the climate was WARMER, she says.

Hey Pennsylvania Treeper pals…
What can you tell me about living in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania? Yes, I know… Pennsylvania is liberal and home to lib favorite Josh Shapiro… but I’ve got a bit of a scoop on a good job there and the cost of living is much lower than what we are experiencing here. Very rural type job with like-minded people… but how is it living in Chambersburg? Safe for a couple of Woo girls? Kid’s interested in some colleges near there… so this is a really interesting development, plus we would love all the history the area has to offer. (I am posting late – so I’ll also post in the morning – just in case! I’ll check back… and many thanks!)
Not local to Pennsylvania/ Chambersburg. However, one of the daughters has in-laws near Allentown. So I have visited during summers, several times and can truthfully declare I LOVE PENNSYLVANIA.
People were friendly, helpful and the flowers were spectacular. I am fond of Amish and Mennonites in particular, even though I’m not one of them. The stone barns and houses delighted me.
