Just curious as to why so many people on this site dislike JR so much? I’m Honestly curious and ignorant on this question but I always see a lot of dislike for Don jr. He seems solid to me.
I will speak for myself…I always feel like Don Jr is very quick to rush in and claim/take success of something…I don’t find a humble bone in his body…DJT is huge on blowing his own horn, but someone it falls flat with Jr….to me it smells of insecurity rather than confidence…JMHO

Growing up in the shadow of his father has definitely left him full of insecurities. He’s both screaming for attention and trying to define his own identity.

If he wanted to be POTUS, he would have led a very different life, and made his play a long time ago.

That he saw his life coming to an end, and wanted to make one last, big push in the area that is his passion, which is health, especially childrens health.

I’m personally ambivalent about Trump Jr. I think he’s been a very effective spokesman, but I remain unfond of Vance as the VP pick, which Jr. takes credit for (along with taking credit for Gabbard…). I also understand Tucker advocated for Vance as well. I think Vance has done a good job, but I doubt I will ever trust or like him. My preference remains Donalds, whom I consider a natural for the job, and a better political pick as well. But that die has been cast.
I agree with your first sentence. I love CTH. I just think sometimes some of the members are reactive without having all of the facts (which are hard to come by I understand). With regard to Don Junior, I’ve read his book, ‘Triggered’ which I thought he did a good job on. He has pics of taking his kids fishing. He loves his kids. Does he always always have good solid judgment? Who of us does? I think sometimes we grassroots need to look at our expectations when it comes to candidates. They are all imperfect humans. We are very blessed to have Donald Trump Senior as our duly elected president, and we get the family that comes with him. I, for one, am relieved that God has seen fit to give our country another chance.

Something about Jr has always been off-putting to me. He does not come across as genuine, humble or sincere. He always sounds like he is reading a teleprompter. His perfect straight, white, fake teeth enhances nothing about him. It’s like he is always trying too hard to be just as good as his dad/brother. He is not his own person and doesn’t come across as being as educated as he should be. He wants to be everyone’s first choice when his dad leaves the presidency but that will never happen. I believe it is his “past” and decidedly leftist politics. Though some of the policy positions are holdovers for decades past when Democrats were people too. Not the sub species they became.
My very first comments here were vocally yet enthusiastically in support of RFK and POTUS taking him “in” so to speak. Given my respect for and understanding of POTUS as having far more acumen now than he did upon first entering retail “politics”, I figured he’s known RFK for decades so that had to have influenced his decision. I believe that at this stage POTUS felt certain that RFK would do his bidding and apply his own expertise in areas ( health etc ) that were not among POTUS chief “strengths”. That’s his gig as I understand it. But it would never have bothered me if RFK was somehow in a position to drop some truth telling bombs regarding the deaths of his father and uncle both. Would that not be something? If it were found that our very own ( rogue factions ) government had at least some involvement in their deaths. If not active participation?

I was stunned when Trump came down the escalator and spoke common sense truth about immigration.
But I was suspicious that Trump was working with the Clinton’s. He just seemed to good to be true.
Then I heard Don Jr in a radio interview. He was outstanding! He sounded like the people I grew up with.
He even understood why “red flag” laws were so bad. Not many republican politicians realized that only wealthy Americans would be able to legally defend themselves against “red flag” law abuse.
Recently I listened to a 1 plus hour interview with RFKjr given during the primary.
I did not realize just how good RFKjr is.
His voice problem makes it difficult to give a good presentation but he is as articulate as anybody with very good memory recall of the over 500 cases he has brought to court.
He understands the pediatric vaccine issues about as well as anybody.
I’m pleasantly surprised to see that Don Jr has such good judgement.

Well, from my vast psychological knowledge of life in general (heavy sarc with a smile, here)….one humble thought…is the rest of us trying to understand their, the rich and famous, approach to life in general…and their ‘life’ is different.
I assume, rightly or wrongly, most of us here are average run of the mill forgotten men and women although I do know some decisional type people view the site, as do highly educated people….
My own thoughts…the decision making class, the obscenely wealthy, I believe, have a different behavioral approach to life in general and most definitely, the political worlds in which they participate and travel. One thing to consider…the average person, deals with the same emotions etc with failures…but are probably far less able to financially tolerate those failures.
They, the wealth class, are not like us…sure they worry about money, bills, relationships, their kids (education and safety)…but I suspect, they do that in a far different manner than average people do.
Which brings to mind an old saying…’money isn’t everything but it is easier to cry in a Mercedes than on a bicycle’….

I always enjoy these old interviews. Donald Trump speaks fast, as do most New Yorkers I worked with for 30 years – his voice is lower than Jr’s and easier to listen to. In both cases, I think the fast speech is to keep from being interrupted the way we saw Phil kept trying to do.

Donald Trump Jr. oversaw the company’s property portfolio. Eric Trump helmed day-to-day operations. Both held power of attorney for their father as Trump Organization executive vice presidents.
But the state sought far lower penalties for the two sons — five-year bans on their ever running a real estate company in New York again — compared to the permanent ban the state had sought for their father.
In Trump’s fraud verdict, New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron on Friday set far lower bans for Trump and his sons.
An appeal will almost certainly put these penalties on hold for many months to come. But under the verdict, Trump is banned for three years from “serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York.
His two sons are banned for just two years.”
