Oh how I love this Mo!!!!! Rockwell was a pictorial historian I’ve always thought. His drawings and paintings could move the hardest heart. This one is a delight and one I was not familiar with, even though one of my most prized possessions is a complete portfolio of all his works which we found hidden at Half Price Books on a lower shelf obscured by other books. We fairly snatched it up for a song. Looking through it bro vs back memories of a time long gone byand one I miss very much. I’m so glad you posted this.
As for The Nutcracker, I think I’ll find a performance tomorrow to watch. My favourite was performed by the Birmingham Royal Ballet years and years back. It was the traditional scenery which filled the stage, with a tree which at midnight when the magic began suddenly started growing…and growing ..and GROWING!!! Until it rose to the top touching the rafters.

The lighting is terrible, but you can sort of see how large the tree is. Towards the end of this clip suddenly the tree disappears. And that’s how clever those controlling the scenery were….almost imperceptible. It really was quite a magnificent production.
