We traveled to Nova Scotia 4 times one summer for business. Since we like to try the local food specialty at least one time whenever we travel we went to a seafood restaurant everyone said was the best. We ordered lobster, something we both liked the few times we had it as small, white chunks of meat.
Husband and I were shocked seeing full lobsters — sitting up staring at us with their beady little eyes — surrounded by green slime. ‘What’s that?!’ we asked the waitress, to which she answered, ‘It’s part of their digestive system; you might not want to eat it.’

I recall reading on Lucianne.com after 9/11 when all those planes were grounded, the stories of people whose planes were grounded in Gander and the townspeople took them into their homes for that time they had to wait for the “all clear” to finally be able to fly back home to America. The warmth, kindness and generous hospitality was outstanding and unforgettable.
I have experienced similar Newfie hospitality myself during my travels.
My beauette was good friends with a couple who were flying back to the US from Sweden at that time. They were on the plane that landed in Gander and when they arrived back home they told everyone how well they were treated by those living on The Rock. Said they had never witnessed such compassion for other human beings and would never forget their experience.
There are still many good people out there. Just because the lying media doesn’t acknowledge them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
