Warning – something is up with yahoo! I have had a free yahoo account for years. Lots of people know my address so I stuck it out. Tonight I was suddenly cut out and it demanded multiple Capthca entries and then told me I was locked out. I called the help line and the help people not only verified my recovery email and phone, but asked lots of personal questions as well. Then they insisted that the text message they sent while correct was ‘insufficient’ and required me to scan my driver’s license to get back in. Then the phone scanned my face for their bloody facial recognition software !!!
Then she wanted to connect to my computer via screenshare — I drew the line at that one.
I cannot live without this email account – need it for work and personal – so I had to go through with it. This is insane – God knows who has my info now.
I will change as soon as I am back in — I’m still locked out til ‘tomorrow’
Proton mail is very good and they offer a free account if you decide to change.
I am on it. I’m livid that my face is now scanned and on someone’s database.
About a month ago, AOL locked a large group of customers out. No one would answer customer service and “recovery” process was an infinite loop. Finally got it sorted out, but the resolution was not what you describe at all!!! I understand your reticence, and it all sounds VERY fishy to me!!! What they required of you is CRAZY!!! Other than requiring a recovery email or text, what they did sounds like lawsuit material to me!!!
AOL did not require anything other than recovery email or text, and the one’s who could not recover were those who had either an AOL recovery email, also locked, or an old telephone number, and the one’s effected were those who had multiple email addresses passing through a main email.
I am writing my senator and demanding action. Yahoo is a liberal left organization out of SFO anyway, but I ignored their biased ads because they were free. Now I am sorry ! You do get what you pay for.
I am appalled and disgusted for you!!! I promise proton mail is not only secure, but free and you will hopefully never have this problem again!!! Please let me know you got in. I know the stress of it from the AOL thing, but this is outrageous!!!

I left Comcast for my Chicago area home. Got ATT air. They strongly suggest you get their app but not required. I do not download any apps ever.
I transitioned out of an email account I no longer liked by opening one with a different company. I never closed my old account, I just use it for services that require an email, sort of like an old phone number I no longer have. All my important email is now used on the newer account. I never linked the 2 accounts together. The old email is also on an old computer that’s mostly kept powered off, I’ve never opened it on my newer laptop.
Did you hear the one about the death cult that tries to repurpose the word “transition” ?
My old laptop{Windows7} hasn’t been booted up in a couple years. It is my only access to my Protonmail account.

It’s been over a decade now but Yahoo changed their terms of service for all email account holders to the effect that they, Yahoo, owns 100% of the content of every email sent or delivered, and is when I closed all Yahoo email accounts because some were business related.
When you do get back in, please take the time to read their terms of service and then find an email provider you are comfortable with and begin the migration process for receiving emails so that you no longer feel that you cannot live without that email account.
I have a friend, also still using Yahoo email, similar to your description for work and personal, with no backups whatsoever and it’s just a matter of time before she too will be required to turn over her life’s history, and face, to gain access.
When I told her about the change in their terms of service, just as people when warning about the inoculations, shrugged her shoulders and said they would never do that just as people said their doctor would never do anything to harm them.
At the least, create an email account with a different provider and all those emails that you deem essential to your life be sure to forward to that backup email account.

I cannot blame them as the Irish government are out of their tiny minds being so pro mooooslim. I hope President Trump can knock some sense into their stupid heads.
It grieves me to see the land of my birth, descend so close to hell.
Hmmmm, as a South African of Irish decent (recent) – I say “recent” because who knows who or where our ancestors were/are 800, 1750, 3000 years ago? Anyway, at present our respective authorities are making it almost impossible for me to visit the Holy Land – should I so choose. Both have closed embassies, so good luck in getting the necessary paperwork smoothly.
Thankfully though, I did get to walk it (the Holy Land) back in the 80’s. Worked on a Kibbutz in the Golan (loved that area). I just don’t get it – both are “Christian” countries – don’t they understand the meaning of the verse “I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Perhaps because unfortunately there are many “shepherds” who tell their flock that the OT is just a bunch of “laws” impossible to keep, merely the history of a specific people and therefore can be safely ignored. Nothing can be further from the truth, as we will/have all find out.
Then again, there is a letter/word/phrase in the Xhosa language (South Africa) that places the letter “E” as an “A” or “the” or “is like” or “is” before the noun or adjective – for example – E-moto (car). In this case it would be “E-dom” (dom meaning stupid or foolish) Hmmm, names, places and times may change, but the sentiment remains. So, moenie “dom” wees nie (don’t be stupid) – seek wisdom (wise – dumb) as in when you understand that you know nothing

Ocean County Sheriff Confirms Drone Sighting, Silent on Whether or Not Its Federally Banned Anti-Drone Systems Could be Used
Mastronardy demonstrated how the department uses surveillance equipment, a fleet of drones, social media monitoring systems, and anti-drone technology to fight crime in Ocean County. He said his agency now also uses anti-drone technology.
“We have a system that allows us to take over other people’s drones and send them right back to them,” Mastronardy said about securing crime scenes and police operations. “We had a case where a guy had a drone come near where we were, and we sent it right back to him. He was confused. He thought his drone was broken. Our guys watched him with binoculars as his drone flew back to him.”
Mastronardy said the department now has two units capable of returning drones to their owners or even downing them if needed. He says drones flying over crime scenes puts officers in jeopardy.
“We don’t want anyone giving away our positions or letting the bad guys know where we are,” he said.
“We’re not really supposed to have them,” he said. “But now we have two.”

Biography: Colonel Sanders was an American businessman, known as the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, for which his image still serves as the brand’s symbol. Later in his life, Sanders was critical of what KFC had become and particularly thought the quality of food had been sacrificed for profits.
While Sanders worked early in his career as a lawyer, his reputation was destroyed after he fell into a courtroom brawl with his own client. After this he worked odd jobs until the Shell Oil Company offered him a service station; it was here that he first started serving chicken dishes.
By July 1940, the ‘secret recipe’ for which KFC would be so famous was finalised, with which Sanders cooked his chicken in a pressure fryer. He first franchised this recipe with Pete Harman to start a branch in Utah.
After Sanders’ initial restaurant declined due to the building of an interstate highway, he travelled around the United States seeking further franchisees. This eventually snowballed into the hugely successful business which is known around the world today.
When I lived in Germany the Brothers Grimm were pictured on the 1,000 mark bill – important historic cultural figures.

When Whitmire came into office, he found that the housing authority was packed with useless people with important titles “working from home” and doing nothing for the generous salaries they were receiving.

The battered conservative steps are important for me as well. I work hard in prayer to stay out of the victim mentality, to follow God’s wisdom in whether to stay in medicine or not. Knowing that the “gifts and calling of God are without repentance” may help one to understand that just because something is simple {the simplicity that is in Christ} it may not be easy.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Good morning.
80 years ago this day the great German offensive through the Ardennes Forrest against the US 1st and 9th Armies.
The Germans launched the 5th and 6th Panzer armies (about 3,00,000 men) into a 40 mile wide assault area penetrating a relatively quiet portion of the front where the US sent worn out veteran units to rest and reconstitute and new green units to get their first taste of front line service.
By the end of the first day Hitlers brain child was already behind schedule and that condition would only worsen during the whole period of offensive operations.
Many Americans, surprised, confused, and scared ran for the rear, but enough held out at critical crossroads and terrain features and fought until they could hold no more, and were killed or captured. causing severe and unanticipated casualties and delays for the Germans.
Their sacrifice was not in vain as it allowed time for reinforcements to come forward to hold the key cross roads village of Bastogne, and to reinforce the shoulders of the penetration to contain it and for the US commanders to get a handle on what was happening.
Everyone would suffer in the coldest temperatures experienced in the area of the battle in 40 years. But the Americans especially so because a decision by General Omar Bradley a couple months before to prioritize fuel, ammo, and other supplies to the front over the cold weather gear for the soldiers because Montgomery had been slow to take and clear the approaches to the key port of Amsterdam.
By Christmas day all the German High command knew that Hitler’s gamble had failed. But the fierce fighting would go on as the Germans tried to hold the salient to keep the Allies out of the Fatherland. Far more casualties were suffered on both side after Bastogne was relieved than before.
It was not until Jan 28th that the Allied line was at the same approximate location it was before the offensive. The 29 US and 4 British Divisions involved in the fighting suffered 75,000 casualties. The Germans has suffered 100,000 and lost 800 tanks and about 1,000 aircraft.
The Battle of the Bulge and the Battle for Okinawa were the two largest and most costly battles the US forces were involved in during WW II.
My Uncle Bob was taken when the 443 Infantry Regiment Surrendered on 20 December 1944. He was a POW until the end of the War. At 19 he was a healthy, athletic kid over 6’1″ and perhaps 180 lbs, and suffered hunger for the entire captivity because the Germans fed them very poorly and stole almost all the Red Cross parcels sent to the prisoners. When he was liberated he weighted 118 pounds. On the troop ship bring the released POWs back to the states the sailors voluntarily kept the mess deck open 24/7 to put weight back on, but he was still skeletal when he got to Walter Reed. I still have the picture of him in his ill-fitting uniform taken at Grace Church in Georgetown when he finally was released to family. Many years later i saw his pocket bible from his time in the POW camp. Virtually every page had descriptions of food, especially hamburgers and my Grandmothers candied sweet potatoes. For the rest of his long life he never, ever, missed a meal, didn’t talk about the war and hated Germans with an abiding passion…

I’ll bet the part about Bradley putting winter clothing on low priority in late September for shipment was the new thing you learned. It is not mentioned in most histories. But for anyone having a general knowledge of how the exploitation after the breakout outran the allies logistic capability, and the fact that the US troops did not have adequate winter warfare uniform items like overshoes, over coats, etc, that tidbit would seem very plausible even if they had not seen it written before.
Here’s another one. When I was writing the lesson plan for heat and cold injuries for SOMED while at Ft. Sam, I had the Army Medical Corp after acton reports for WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Lots of stats. They are books! Sickness, combat fatigue, and cold injuries accounted for more than 50% of the total US casualties for the battle. As I recall Pneumonia, URIs such as Bronchitis, and Trench foot accounted for the largest proportion.

Jesus became a “Man of Sorrows,” like one of us – yet without sin.
By focusing on the Lord Jesus, especially during the holidays, our hearts can be glad.
We can receive tidings of comfort and joy.
We can believe the song’s words: the hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee tonight.
Because after Christmas, the mistletoe and decor come down, and life continues on.
Sometimes somberly.
What a Gift God offers us!

Thank you. A little late responding but i have just seen your post and it has encouraged me greatly. My father died many years ago on the 23rd December. My mother passed two weeks ago on the 7th December aged 96. I thank you for remembering that it can be difficult to be festive but I can and will still be thankful for Christ and all he has given me / my family. I wont be putting up decorations or a Christmas tree but I am going to find a local church service to attend come Christmas day.

Prayer for Serenity 1: When Things Seem Out of Control
You did everything you could to assure a positive outcome, but it didn’t turn out the way you wanted or expected. We’ve all been there. It tests our faith. Maybe you accept the outcome or maybe you’re frustrated. God wants to help you put the situation into perspective and remember that he is always in control of every situation—even those you so desperately want to control.
Dear Lord, It feels like everything is out of control in my life right now. I know good things are happening too but the stress is overshadowing them. I wanted a better answer, things to change, but my hopes are dashed. Many people try to comfort me by saying that you’re in control, but it doesn’t bring me comfort. It seems condescending.
Lord, I want to understand and discern the plans you have for me. Father, restore my faith as I trust that you’re omniscient and I’m not. Envelope me with your peaceful balm to soothe my questioning mind. Remind me that you hold the whole world in your hands and all things work for good to those who believe in you. I do believe! Amen

Prayer for Serenity 2: When Anxiety Overtakes Rationality
God didn’t create doubt, anxiety, or worry. Satan did to rob us of our joy, peace, and sleep. God knows common sense can flee when we’re under stress, so he gave us a remedy when we experience mind hijackers: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Charles Spurgeon advised that, “Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.”
Lord, you know how irrational I can become when I’m anxious. I can’t reign in my thoughts. Instead of expecting the best, I worry and wonder. I fret. My stomach churns, my heart races, and I can’t take my mind off the issue. I know you don’t want me living in a constant state of turmoil. It’s not good for my physical or mental health. It makes people around me miserable and keeps me living in a perpetual state of chaos instead of calmness, which I crave.
Father, you tell me in your Word to cast all my anxiety on you and so I’m doing that in this prayer. I lay at your feet the things I’m struggling with and I implore you Lord to free my mind of concerns. Remind me please to take deep breaths and trust that you can make a way even when the path is not visible to me. Father, please lead me to refreshing Scriptures when I feel anxiety approaching. The Holy Spirit fills me with the serene peace and joy of the Lord. Amen

Prayer for Serenity 3: When Fear Overcomes Faith
Faith is the opposite of fear. The antidote to fear is to renew and reaffirm your trust in God when things are going well, when things look bleak, and every time in between. Don’t doubt him. Realize and internalize that God’s got this and he’s way ahead of us. Elisabeth Elliot once said, “Fear arises when we imagine that everything depends on us.”
Scriptures remind us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). In times of trial, we may find ourselves by God’s grace able to overcome our fears quickly, or it could be an extended journey. The triumph will be worth the struggle as it draws us closer to God when we go straight to prayer and reliance on him.
Dear Father, I’ll admit that I’m fearful right now. My world seems unsteady and unpredictable and I’m afraid. I want to trust you in all circumstances. Please help me rely on you and avoid the instigators of fear. When I’m tempted to turn on the news, nudge me to pick up my Bible. When conversation becomes uncomfortable, please give me words to change the subject.
Lord, my hope is in you. Your Word always brings calmness to my soul and your presence in prayer is soothing and restful. I will not be afraid. I love you Lord and know that you first loved me. Greater love could no man have than to lay down his life as you did for me, even when I was so undeserving. Remind me Lord to believe when I forget that you are greater than anyone or any force in this world. I feel my fear subsiding as my love for you grows greater. Prayer for Serenity 4: When What-if’s Overshadow What-Is
In Everyday Brave, I admit that I’m an overthinker and a perfectionist.
Overthinkers imagine all the things that could go wrong or could happen. We wake up in the middle of the night ‘what-iffing’ and often create our own stress. We anticipate the worst in the future, robbing ourselves of the joys of the present. Overthinkers create problems in our minds that don’t exist and probably won’t ever occur. Perfectionists second-guess ourselves, never thinking we’re good enough or smart enough. Many don’t even try for fear of failure.
Lord, imagining future problems and never being satisfied with my, or others, performance doesn’t make me happy. I’m awful. I try to cope in my own strength and expectations instead of depending on you. Please teach me how to focus on actual circumstances and let go of those I fabricate. I waste so much of my life in a perpetual state of unrest.
You are my strong fortress, my anchor, my source of joy, serenity, and peaceful thoughts. Keep me grounded on the firm foundation of your Word and your ways. Guide me on paths of righteousness. You are the truth, the way, and the life. Amen
Prayer for Serenity 5: When You Want to Give Up or Give In
Stress is debilitating. Even with our best intentions, the weight of whatever is bothering us can defeat our motivation to rectify the situation. We feel helpless and hopeless. It seems easier living with the source of our stress than praying to God for how we should respond. Often, he will direct us to take no action. It’s not our battle this time.
Other times, he wants us to be resilient, resourceful, and rectify the situation remembering: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13).
Dear Lord, please refresh me with your living water. Let the Holy Spirit flow over me. Remind me that this world is not my home and to keep my eyes looking heavenly. I can so easily lose sight of you in the midst of my problems and the world’s craziness.
Others are watching how I react to stress and difficulties. They need to see that my dependence is on you. My source of hope is you working in ways I might not see.
I want to be an encouragement when asked how I can still have a smile on my face and joy in my voice as I carry on in the midst of stressful times. Please don’t let darkness overtake me Lord as I seek your face in morning’s light and the stillness of night. I will not be discouraged for I know the Lord my God is with me wherever I go. Hola and salutations to all the Treepers old and new, it has been a long time since I have been here and I have returned to sing my song once again. when I said I was steping away from the web 10 months ago it was with the intent of taking a break from all the pressure the information or misinformation that was being written was putting in my mind. It was fortunate that I quit when I did because not two weeks after deciding to take a break my smartphone just sudenly died on me, (leaving me to wonder if I had picked up some kind of trojan horse somewhwere, I remember Sundance writting about all his devises dying all at once while in Europe. I am writting this on a public computer so hopefully there will be no harm to this devise.
I will say that being without all that propaganda has been very refreashing, my stress levels are significanly lower and I have a much more positve view on life in general. However the time has come for me to return and play devils advocate to some simple truths that have developed. Trump is president elect…GREAT! but do you really think he can change anything in just one term? Remember one man can NOT fix the problems that Amaerica is facing, only We the People can fix them and so I will say that this next administration will be a lame duck run for 4 years while the left consolidates and plans thier next move. I know many here will find it very hard to believe but I believe Trump to be controlled opposition, without a doubt he was the best man for the job when going down the golden escalador but now he is just another political creature, playing a part that has been scripted for him.
what do we do? I have ideas but the simple truth is the American people have not lost enough to make them wnat to turn over the money tables and say “NO MORE!”.
