Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Happy Thanksgiving, ed 🍁😊.
Happy Thanksgiving, Dan 😊🍁 And thank you. Our grace before meals includes our asking God to help keep us ever mindful of the needs of others. There are so many when we lift our eyes from our own immediate concerns, many of which pale into insignificance when we do so. Blessings for your day of gratitude 🙏🏻
Happy to you and yours, Betsy. I hope yours was blessed.

At my 75th year and I just made my first cherry cobbler 😛
Love a cherry cobler/pie. I use those sour pitted cherries, 2 cans, scant 2 cups sugar, some lemon juice and 2 pie crusts. It is a deep-dish pie cooked in a oven proof bowl.
This is so good hot with Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream. 🙂
Nothing beats the Blue Bell Homemade vanilla! 😁 Monday and Tuesday our local Lowe’s supermarket had all Blue bell half gallons on sale for 5.49. Got 6 of them but then again, we are expecting close to 40 people today.
Mornin’ Gramps!!! Agree 100 percent on Bule Bell vanilla. Have a cherry pie and a apple pie from HEB. Add a little Blue Bell = BIG YUM!!
Afternoon Garrison! Enjoy!
Congrats! That’s a fan favorite at my house.
You inspire! 🙏✝️🙏
Congratulations dogsmaw! 🙂
Just wish all Treepers…A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING…

Good morning Bet and Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️😘 Tell Mags to pace herself today. 😂
Happy Thanksgiving, beloved bro 😘🍁 and to all in your house…
She’s a perfect guest and happier here than she would have been had she gone with her mom and Brian FOR SURE!! 😂 So far she had her better than average actual dog food, A smidge of pot roast gravy, and this morning teeny bites of my buttered crumpet. Never let it be said anyone starves at Hotel Bucca!! 😎👍🏻
Happy Thanksgiving, Jim and all y’all!

Happy Thanksgiving once more, dear P (caught you first on page two 😉).
The question is…how on earth did the photographer get these “guests” to sit still long enough to get a family pic?? 🤔 💕
Well done!
PROOF that vaccination is a scam – the vaccinated are typically afraid of the unvaccinated making them ‘sick’.
IF vaccination works as advertised, why is anyone (or animal) who is vaccinated afraid of the unvaccinated…
???
Because it’s endemic/common that those vaccinated get sick with the infection they are supposedly vaccinated against. ‘Twas ever thus.
A reporter so honest she was targeted …

Happy Thanksgiving, Bet! About to leave for my friend’s house in a little bit. Eeally looking forward to great food and great afternoon conversation. Little ‘Tink is currently sunning herself in the back yard. I’ll let her in when I get back.
Have a most excellent time, Garrison!! Don’t forget to bring back a small “doggy” bag for Miss Tink! 😉😽
But, then, sometimes things change. My friends called . . . the dinner won’t be ready until late afternoon/early evening, , a time that promises to impinge on my poor night vision problem.
Fortunately I’m blessed to have a small circle of “best” friends, two of whom live quite close by and who had also extended a dinner invitation. Problem solved: I’m walking over to their house for dinner at 1 o’clock. `
Happy Thanksgiving, Garrison!
Dinner today just got simpler.
My oven element died 2 days ago. New one on the way.
Slow cooker dinner today. yum
Chop some bacon start it first on high.
Then onions, olive oil, garlic, ham steak. Cook about 2 hours.
Throw in a pinch of sage for Thanksgiving smells.
Add carrots, potatoes.
Mix a quart of beef bouillon powder and pour in mixture
More chopped garlic.
Two frozen pies thawing, Key Lime and Chocolate creme.
yum
Happy Thanksgiving my friends. Hugs.
I feel your pain buy you have improvised very nicely…and truly, there is nothing Bacon cures all.
….my 30 year old Kenmore side by side…is having issues…and not cooling like it should…won’t be fixed until Monday. But the part is still available…so much to be Thankful for!
Very much thankful for your words of encouragement Aggie. I feel the same my stove is 11 yrs old.
There is no law that says we must have turkey or ham or certain dishes for Thanksgiving…and Bacon, like chocolate, makes all things right in the world! The marketers push that holiday theme…and it probably causes a lot of depression in society…we often get primed to think of ‘next year’ and forget to live in the moment.
You have a lovely day…and Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a GE Americana. 52 yo. It has a small oven above the stove top and a huge oven below. I have a newer kitchenaid in the garage that is like brand new and was given to us. I just don’t want to give up that double oven.
Not mine but just like it.
That’s great! I’ve seen a lot of sharing pics and things on the net before. But I have to say
Never seen someone post pics of their oven! lol Nice!!
Happy T-Day! 🙂
Lol. I really want to hate it. It isn’t pretty. But I love the stupid thing. It just keeps going and going. They don’t make em like they used to.
They sure don’t Lizzie!
make ANY-thing like they used to 🙂
I think you might have my old stove that I heated stuff up when I lived in Texas 😛
😂
My grandma had one just like that! Same color too! 😅

James Naismith
(1861-1939)
Canadian-American physical educator and inventor (basketball, football helmet), dies at 78
Biography: James Naismith was a Canadian-American physical educator, physician, chaplain, sports coach, and innovator. He is best known for inventing the game of basketball in 1891 and is also credited with writing the original basketball rulebook.
Born in Canada, Naismith studied physical education at McGill University in Montreal before moving to the United States. In 1891, while he was a physical education teacher at the International YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, Naismith was tasked with creating a new indoor game to keep athletes active during the winter months. The game he developed was basketball, a sport that combined elements of various games and emphasized skill and agility over brute strength.
Naismith’s original game had 13 basic rules and involved throwing a soccer ball into peach baskets, which were used as goals. The baskets were nailed to the lower railing of the gymnasium balcony, ten feet above the floor. This height was arbitrarily chosen and became the standard for basketball hoops. The game quickly gained popularity, and by 1936, basketball was introduced as an Olympic sport.
In addition to creating basketball, Naismith pursued a medical degree, believing that the best way to care for athletes was to understand medicine. He received his medical degree in 1898 from Gross Medical College in Denver, Colorado.
After inventing basketball, Naismith held several teaching and administrative positions. He moved to the University of Kansas in 1898, where he served as a professor and the first basketball coach. Naismith is the only coach in the university’s history with a losing record.
He lived to see basketball adopted as an Olympic demonstration sport in 1904 and as an official event at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, as well as the birth of both the National Invitation Tournament (1938) and the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship (1939).

Enrico Fermi
(1901-1954)
Italian-American nuclear physicist, gone fission, fermium (Nobel Prize 1938), dies of stomach cancer at 53
Biography: Best known for his work on Chicago Pile-1 (the first nuclear reactor), and for his contributions to the development of quantum theory, and nuclear and particle physics.
Fermi is one of the men referred to as the “father of the atomic bomb”. His career began in his native Italy and at 37 was awarded the 1938 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on reduced radioactivity.
In 1939 he moved to the US, conducting the first nuclear fission experiment (splitting of a uranium atom) in the US before moving to Chicago and designing the world’s first nuclear reactor, the Chicago Pile-1.
Fermi also worked with Robert Oppenheimer on Project Y in Los Alamos, New Mexico as part of the Manhattan Project that created the nuclear atomic bombs dropped in Japan.
After WWII Fermi continued to work on the Manhattan Project, though opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb on moral grounds. He also contributed significant work on cosmic radiology.
His ‘namesake’…I had a tour there, about 20+ years ago, got to go to the top of their famous building…the view was breathtaking……note you can get in “with proper identification”, ha I did not need ID then, just an acquaintance. who who kind and had time…
We owe these men an awful lot…for their contributions that have been used for peaceful means. I cannot imagine how their brains work differently than an average person’s does…

I shipped quite a few parts to Batavia, Aldi has a warehouse there, former employer supplied parts for their German made pallet trucks.
The view from the top of that building would have been amazing, nice flyby on the top their homepage.

Its a shame how many dads are more involved in the entertainment that produces ‘sports fans’.

Did you ever hear Alan Watt talk about the reasons behind building massive sports stadiums?

Keep in mind, all Thanksgiving foods are not suitable for Fido.
https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/advice/thanksgiving-foods-for-dogs/
Shelties are very food driven…I only feed mine on Tuesday and Thursday during the time of day they are not shedding, LOL.
While AKC and Purina/Nestle are big corps…they do come out with some safe quide lines…
https://www.purina.co.uk/articles/dogs/feeding/what-dogs-eat/can-dogs-eat-onions
Scroll down in the article for the AKC on onions.
My vet told me a story of a dog they once tried to save, who had ingested a toxic/unknown amount of onion. Note the word “tried”…
No onions for Fido or Fluffy!
No ham, either…too much fat and sodium.
My heart is stirred by the second stanza..
THANK YOU LORD!

Ah…”Law and Order”….
In my early years I listened on radio…had to imagine the galloping Silver 😀👍
🇺🇸💪😀👍
I had surprise visitors while in my senior year in Dallas…they were family friends from New Zealand…not knowing what ‘to do’ with them, I was only 21 and did not know how to ‘entertain’ from the college student aspect…I took them to a place in Dallas called “The Texas Teahouse”…they had a band that played that…and other Nelson music…(I thought if I took them to Reunion Tower and put it on my Dad’s credit card, Dad would have had a stroke as the card was for “dire emergencies”….expensive back then)…
Years later, I heard from my kiwi family, how impressed this couple was and that that evening was one of the best memories they had while travelling America…they really liked the ‘authentic’ taste of ‘Texas’ music…in an outdoor courtyard type venue…few tables and chairs…everyone stood and danced…
A Cursday Treat…
And a laugh..
Ha Aggie!, that’s funnier than I think it’s supposed to be 🙂
Its sad that he had a bar down…crossed that finish line with a nano second…there aren’t too many bassets in agility…I think we know why…LOL
The beautiful part is the dog was ‘returned to rescue because it was untrainable’….a “hold my beer’ moment.
The training for a ‘flawless’ performance takes quite a while, oh how I know!…so this was I think, an ‘in your face moment’…
I can relate. I’m no longer subject to being asked to jump through hoops, am considered “un-trainable” – and have long since given up any hope of “rescue” lol.
But my home’s in Heaven! I’m going there 🙂
😂
Me, too, Reed.
I will be reverent in a few days…but for now…
I will hold off on doing “Granny got runned over by a raindeer” till next Thursday else I might have things thrown at me tonight @ the bar… which is open post most peoples Thanksgiving dinner as they might not be so kind to each other for political view reasons LOL … so no full day off for me.
It will however lead off next Thursday’s Karaoke.
Off to bed…. good morning to all & happy Thanksgiving.
Ya gotta do what is safe!
Good Night(?!) MMW!
Have a great nap, a T-Day,.. and yeah
“tonight at the bar” sure brings back memories 🙂
Yea, I spent my 20’s in the bar, at least it doesn’t cost me anything now, quite the opposite.
(my business is 2nd/3rd shift when most people order pizza 2pm to 12am & I do prep after midnight 20 lbs bacon in oven now)
Still very funny Aggiegirl…👏👏😀👍

Happy Thanksgiving!🍁 ✝️🍁
I am grateful that I am able to be here among such wonderful and supportive “netizens” 🙂
I long ago learned to bear the dislike of the masses with impunity, and find great joy in the greater good of sympatico found here – the abundance of goodness only made possible by our illustrious host, SD, and those who assist in this daunting task of sharing so much – and who make this all possible and every day.
It is the most uniquely informative and “supportive” web chat forum I’ve ever seen or participated in and I’ve been to a few.
It will be my last. ( no applause please! just throw money lol ) Kidding aside –
I wish everyone the best Thanksgiving possible – for you and yours.
I humbly pray God continue to shepherd us, immersed in his everlasting love and grace, – and keep us.
In the name of his only begotten son – King of Kings – Jesus Christ.
( gobble gobble 🙂 )
You can’t leave….
This is like the Hotel California…you can check out but never leave……..
I’m just glad there are no “mirrors on the ceiling” 🙂

So many people have said my mother should not have had us but I’m glad she did. I was adopted in my teens, graduated from high school, went From The Foster House To The White House & created my own Pancake Mix called CousinTs. We all deserve to be here. Life is a gift #RoeVsWade
Further cementing the legacy and heartwarming open arms and inclusion of our President.

Man, that’s a feel good clip!
The youngun confused as his mom was holding the chair for him…?
Nice!
Don is the dad he never had.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
A Heart of Gratitude
Some reasons to give thanks to God:
We are invited to have a personal relationship with the one true God—
the sovereign, omniscient, and omnipresent Lord of all creation.
Our Creator loves us with an everlasting and unconditional love.
He sent His Son to rescue us so we could spend eternity with Him.
As a result, when we place our trust in Jesus, we are freed from the fear of death.
And the list of blessings keeps going: God adopts believers as His children and seals
them with His Spirit (Ephesians 4:30). He promises to meet every need through His
limitless resources (Philippians 4:19) and provides His Word and indwelling Spirit
to guide us.
And dogs can count! They know if one gets one treat and the other dog gets two…
“Pancakes!”??! LOL
Haha…in keeping with the theme…
In 2023, a historic milestone was achieved in the world of dog shows: a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV) named Buddy Holly won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. This marked the first time a Basset Hound breed, specifically a PBGV, took home the top prize. Brave search.

Happy Thanksgiving y’all.

Happy Thanksgiving all.
No Thanksgiving would be complete without hearing the late, great, Rush Limbaugh tell The True Story of Thanksgiving. So here it is:
I used to love listening to him on my drive to work when I was on 2nd. He was MAGA before MAGA.
Happy Thanksgiving, rah!
This is a very interesting listen, Rush, having been propagandized since childhood, as it appears we all were, it appears, simply goes back to the source, William Bradford’s journal “Of Plimoth (Plymouth) Plantation.”
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Your a wonderful group of patriots.
…and a Happy Thanksgiving Colkitto! You and yours 🙂
Someone posted about “Tennessee Ernie Ford” and I can’t find it? ( thought it’s be here, but alas ).
I just wanted to thank them ( seemed like a good day for such lol ) and for reminding me how much I really loved Ford’s stuff. I mean, “Sixteen Tons” alone! would place Ford in the Pantheon, if it were up to me.
So here on this day in honor of my love of double entendre on T-Day 🙂
“The Pilgrim” lol – a classic by Tennessee Ernie Ford!

Happy Thanksgiving to the wonderful inhabitants of the Treehouse. The picture is 30 years old – the sentiment from Doc and Me is today. He looks a little unkempt because he just got off an ER shift. (scuse a tear)
Love You All.
Happy Thanksgiving, ms Idaho! My mom, too, is a veteran of many an ER shift while raising 3 boys!
Hug your mom for us. In person or in memory.
Thank you, ms Idaho, she’s still here, as is the most of the rest of the direct family, in the Twin Cities.

As in shared memories , that is
Blessed morning and Happy Thanksgiving!
We have the two little fur babies convalescing from their spays. Good, sweet girls. Long days up at 4 AM and bedtime last night was 2 AM. Maggie Moo is proving quite the escape artist. We no sooner got home when she found the weakness in the brand new pop up tent kennel I purchased her and she met me at the bedroom door, with her e-collar pulled off and bouncing on my bed!!!
Bouncing is noooo bueno… so we added additional reinforcement in case she continued to shed the e-collar and somehow she wriggled her way out of the post-surgical thundershirt style onesy outfit she was stuffed into… while simultaneously keeping the e-collar on… without disturbing the body-length velcro. How? I have no earthly clue, but I may consider taking her little circus act on a road tour because she’s so silly.
They are wearing me out. Savannah is off on Fall break and she has a couple days off of her job, so she can assist. (Thank You, Jesus!) She’s not sleeping either, but what good lessons on how to care for little furry surgical patients.
There is much news here locally – the students at Savannah’s former public high school are demonstrating. They had two protests this week before their release on Thanksgiving holiday. The behaviors of administration are abhorrent, but their facade is cracking. evil simply cannot hide. What is said in the dark will always be brought to light. I can expound more, but not today… not on this day of Thanks and Praise. Keep our country’s children in your prayers and pray a hedge of protection over our souls here as they chant for “Change!” What brave warriors!
Father God,
I humbly ask Your Favor and Blessing on our Treepers near and far. Give them eyes to see, ears to hear, and minds open to see all Your Good Works and Faithfulness. You Are everywhere! Wrap them in Your Lovingkindness and give them great warmth and mercy.
Heal minds and heal fences, Father. Turn the wicked from their ways and spur them to acquiesce, repent with contrite and changed hearts, to turn and live good, God-loving lives.
Strengthen us, Father, in the days ahead and may every day be of Thanksgiving and Praise. For You Alone Are Worthy of Glory and our worship, world without end.
We thank You for the Holy Spirit Who binds and protects and Who communicates to You when we can’t find the words.
We thank You for the Gift of Salvation provided through Your Son, Christ Jesus, and it is in His Name we pray, AMEN
Today, we will have ham… as we just finished the turkey from last year two weeks ago. Our small deep freeze in the garage sure is a blessing for keeping leftovers tasting awesome! https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/good-eats-roast-turkey-recipe-1950271 makes the best bird. We love turkey and will likely have to head to Cracker Barrel for our “fix” or I may scoop one up from a post holiday sale and roast it to keep in the deep freeze through another year.
Along with the ham slow roasted in pineapple juice, cloves, and brown sugar; we will have southern-style collard greens, sweet potatoes, macaroni & a thousand cheeses, cranberries, and Watergate salad with pumpkin pie. I have learned to make micro size dishes, so we can still have a little bit of everything without overwhelming leftovers. Kiddo is excited to help me cook this year and she seems to be memorizing what I’m doing – a gift for her future family.
She took her savings from her $11/hour job and she purchased me a full set of stainless steel J.A. Henckels Tri-Ply Clad pots and pans and two dutch ovens from Costco that were an awesome find on sale. It is the nicest gifts I have ever received and she was super excited to load them in the cart. She does like food, so a mutually-beneficial present.
My mom-heart is overflowing and I pray God shower blessings on you, as well.
Banana bread with pecans, cinnamon, and allspice is baking in the oven for breakfast. Highlander Grogg coffee brewing.
A Blessed and joyful day to -and for you, Woo and Savannah.
Hugs and love back at you, sweet sister. So honored to call you my family. The tapestry family God wove together is so special to me.
That is all a true blessing JWoo. You have done a wonderful job with your daughter, and always love your family stories with your fur babies/fur family. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I always associate it with Thanksgiving

Blessings to you, Colkitto. I appreciate your sharing, as well. We all need to hear of the GOOD in this world and may our lights shine all the brighter! God Is Good. Spread joy far and wide, my dear friend.
