I have long held that the tech giants have been hiding behind and using the Section 230 “carveout” of the “CCA” as they are in many cases acting as actual “publishers” not merely “platforms”. When the 230 carveout allows them indemnity from content when in fact they are content moderators as well as publishers.
Given that “230” was designed to protect “providers” indemnity, it was never designed for use in “content moderation” as such. Yet, that’s exactly how it is explained and employed today as a bulwark against, and actually antithetical to “free speech”.
Using the Orwellian tactics of “Newsguard” – and their caprice – has been obvious, as a supposed outside and purportedly independent yet “standalone third party arbiter” of what is or is not “allowable content” is specious at best, and in direct contravention to the 1A, at its worst.
A topic that has concerned me greatly as I was involved in “fair use” arguments in the not too distant past.
That took at least an entire cup of Joe! Back to my trusty Keurig for another shot 🙂

In Europe coupla years ago, they started to rely more and more on solar and wind power, but they were much more costly than fossil fuel.
This jacked up electric bills so high that senior citizens couldn’t afford it so they were leaving their heat off or way down when it was cold, nearly freezing to death in the winter cold

Only on a ship at sea once. When we left Lebanon we boarded a Marine CH-46 helicopter. It flew us out to the USS Iwo Jima https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~don46/military/history.htm
There we stood by at the base of the island structure until they had a CH-53 ready and that flew us to the Greek side of Cyprus. We were in Cyprus for 3 days awaiting transport home.
Been on several other Ships that are docked as museum pieces. Including the Battleships Massachusetts and North Carolina.
I have related the story about my ‘tour’ of the engine room where Daddy worked…what I forgot…We also got a tour of the decks…the only thing I remember…which was important to my five or six year old mind… a very large room with lots of windows…The children’s playroom…

It didn’t happen. That tour ended quick!

Had an office in a very decently well heeled section of Woodland Hills CA so for the cpl days a week I could check on the inmates it was a 30 min drive to the SFV from Malibu all canyon back-roads. No traffic as such.
One day JUST before CV 19 was scammed and I began to get letters from the city informing that they would “shut off electricity” water whatever, should workers be “allowed to work!”!?
I opened my office door at 7 AM to find that somehow or other some vagrants had made a weekend home of it replete with pizza boxes and who knows what all else.
Called LAPD ( they still were answering calls and arriving in a timely manner – uniformed officer said –
“nothing we can do and said he had recently contracted MERS(??) from his close contact with the the kind of homeless vagrants that had commandeered my office.
I closed the office and began the process of retirement knowing that L.A. my home of over 55 years was “home” no more.
There are thousands of TENTS on the overpasses of the Hollywood Freeway as if cities to this day.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. I was in San Antonio last evening and attended Mass in an very upscale neighborhood that clearly supported PDJT, given my observation of the frequency of yard signage and comments on the neighborhood web site. During the homily, given by a Deacon, he stated that voting in the presidential election “made his head hurt” because he had to vote for “the lesser of two evils.” He did not reveal for whom he voted.
Ascribing evil to PDJT, regardless of the candidate receiving his vote, was grossly inappropriate and offensive to many who were present. IMO, if he addressed the election outcome at all, he should have appealed for national unity.
When attending Mass in Dallas and San Antonio during recent months, I heard not a word from the pulpit decrying the Dems’ extreme position on abortion, and how that should prevent any serious Catholic from voting for them.
Moreover, San Antonio’s huge Migrant Resource Center has been reported on multiple media outlets as largely funded by Catholic Charities with additional support from federal grant money provided by FEMA.

IMO, the Catholic church has lost its way by embracing radical, secular ideologies.

For anyone interested in a track-by-track overdub and “how this record was made” clip. Here is “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles
One fascinating bit of trivia. The song includes the harmonized vocals of George ( the author ) and McCartney and the harmonized part “Sun Sun Sun Here It Comes“. Which George later admitted was a direct lift by a stellar record in LA made by the “one hit wonder” – The Sun Rays”! on “We All Live For The Sun” a minor hit record in the US and in UK was covered/recorded later by a group called “Vanity Faire” circa ’69 or so.
The Sun Rays were put together by Murray Wilson the father and no longer manager of everyone’s favorite – The Beach Boys as he was unceremoniously dumped ( and later sold the BB’s publishing rights to “Sea of Tunes” unbeknownst to the leaders genius main writer Brian Wilson ( can you imagine THAT next Thanksgiving dinner… “son, I sold your legacy and future lifetime earnings – Gee! Thanks, Dad! )
Back to what inspired George Harrison; From memory alone some with recall the Beach Boy(esque) of the Sun Rays song:
“We All Live For The Sun” the chorus of which was “sun sun sun sun, weeeooh weeoo oh oh unn” is the glorious chorus that precedes the tagline “we all live for the sun“.
So The Sun Rays influenced George Harrison and it wasn’t even the Beach Boys but rather a well mimicked record by their father Murray who the Beach Boys had dumped.
I just love the minutia of how song and records were made and Lord knows why 🙂
I do hope someone will enjoy this brief interlude down a wonderful late Beatle ( their final studio LP ) song and recording – one NOT even written by the wonderful Lennon-McCartney pairing!
George was a friend. He in fact, let me sing with him in the studio. Just once! lol 🙂
