In the Ukraine thread, SC Observer mentioned that Biden has authorized land mines. I didn’t understand what he/she meant. Both Ukraine and Russia have been using land mines extensively over the course of the conflict, so why would Biden say something about authorizing them now?
I finally found the story. Biden has authorized Ukraine to use “anti-personnel land mines“. Russia does not use them, but Ukraine used them at the beginning of the conflict. They are seeded over a large area and are designed to kill people (children, civilians, or soldiers). The ones that Ukraine has used are shaped like half a flower and are very small and colored so that they blend into the landscape. They are interesting looking, too, so children or civilians will pick them up to see what they are. There is enough explosive to blow off a foot or leg or take off a hand and arm. They can kill if they blow up in a face as someone is looking at them.
They are dangerous for soldiers, but Ukraine has used them around towns and villages. And they can kill, maim and destroy farm equipment later for years into the future if they are not all found.
So, Biden has authorized the killing and maiming of civilians and Ukraine will continue to use them that way…….as well as the most serious bombing deep into Russia with ATACMS. Evil incarnate.

Dennis, do you have any idea what it is to be a tool? Of course, does a tool know it is a tool? Does a hammer have feelings about striking against a nail, tapping it into a wall, does it say to the nail “gee, I am sorry I have to do this but I don’t have any control over this situation, this human is pounding me into you”. Hong Kong’s Beijing-controlled government has sentenced 45 pro-democracy figures to prison for their participation in a 2020 unofficial primary election, further stifling political freedoms in the once-autonomous city.
The individuals, who include some of Hong Kong’s most prominent democracy advocates, were handed sentences ranging from four to 10 years for “conspiracy to commit subversion.” The group’s primary election aimed to unify pro-democracy candidates to gain a legislative majority and block what they perceived as Beijing’s overreach.
Authorities claim the effort was part of a plan to paralyze the government, though the primary was not explicitly prohibited at the time. The National Security Law, introduced in 2020 after months-long protests, was used to retroactively target the activists. The law, widely criticized internationally for its broad and vague wording, allows for sentences of up to life imprisonment and has been used to prosecute journalists, activists, and even citizens wearing allegedly “seditious” T-shirts.
Among those sentenced was Benny Tai, a former law professor at the University of Hong Kong and a key organizer of the primary. Tai received a 10-year prison term, the longest sentence handed down under the National Security Law to date.

In 2019, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Tiananmen Square, thousands and thousands of citizens of Hong Kong were conducting peaceful vigils through the streets which were totally ticking off the control freaks in the CCP . . . this went on for months. The peaceful protests were hijacked by Antifa-like characters who committed acts of violence against property in the streets . . . they just showed up! These were not the peaceful respectful people who would never ever break windows or do anything against their fellow Hong Kong citizen. Enough of the Antifa-like characters, typically masked in some way, took over the streets. This was happing simultaneously while the CCP was endeavoring to circumvent the Trump tariffs by extolling the freedom of Hong Kong!
That’s such a lopsided and slanted story from Newsweek that you are using as a reference.
All of it constructed to give the impression the demonstrators are these innocent peace loving patriots who claim “..Beijing has reneged on its obligations by curbing press freedoms, suppressing dissent, and dismantling the city’s democratic institutions.”
If you care to notice, there is nothing in the article to substantiate what these rabble rousers are claiming.
All that’s really needed, though is to claim the evil Chinese Communist are at work and that’s enough to get the “Chinese Bad” fluids flowing.

It’s more than that, though. The people who voted for Trump were from across the board, across both genders, all races, all religions, not so much out of love of Trump, but out of desperation to be freed of the institutional control the communists had exerted without remorse or consequence. Finally, a greater share of Americans saw what was going on and it took someone like Trump, who, despite the left calling him Hitler, is a populist and a nationalist. Illegal immigration supported and enabled by the Biden (Obama) Administration opened their eyes. Their wages were declining and they couldn’t even get jobs as they were reserved for those illegals so corporations could pay lower wages and make more profit.
What happened in the 2024 election was the reversal of the parties of the people from Democrat to Republican, at least in perception, a perception that, once accepted, is difficult to break. Every time Kamala brought out famous singers and twerkers, something she thought would appeal to a segment of the population she needed, it backfired as elitist and deceitful, especially when people were promised a concert by Beyoncé and got a lecture instead.
In short, the communist Democrats overplayed their hand. Now, with real reform being engrained in the new Trump Administration, a reform that would break the hold the communists have on these institutions, they are ready to unleash hell on America to get their way.

Steps Toward A Second Fort Sumter
There’s a couple of things that need to be pushed as hard as possible: 1) destruction of the MSM that now teeters on collapse of its own diabolical partisanship, but needs a nudge; 2) the lie that what Trump attempts to do is either authoritarian or racist.
To achieve the first objective, the destruction of the MSM, is to flex the might of the alternative media. What became apparent in this election cycle, is the power of podcasts like Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson and Steve Bannon, who kept his show going while he was spending four months in Danbury federal prison for refusing to acknowledge a congressional subpoena issued by the January 6th Committee, a rogue and abusive theatrical comedy featuring lunatics like Liz Cheney. No Democrat has ever suffered prison for refusing to honor a congressional subpoena the same fate for the exact same “offense.” Eric Holder was found guilty of contempt of congress and never even went to trial. That’s not to the shame of the Democrats, it’s to the shame of the Republicans.
The point is, there needs to be considerable pushback against those organized on the left to undo or corrupt the efforts to deport millions of illegal aliens. That can only come from podcasts and blogs dedicated to ensuring the second objective of pushing back against the vilification as either authoritarian, racist or both of Trump’s policies.

A Unifying Purpose
What one must understand is that the younger generations, X and Z, voted by a majority for Trump, but they weren’t voting for the man, they were voting for a coalition as a means of denial to the powers that produced all of it in their lives, stole their future with debt and communist DEI programs, stole their identity as male and female, their voices with censorship, flooded with invaders to take their jobs. They are the children of an accurately defined fascist government, the first generations to experience communist-fascism in America as their only understanding of government. Every time they hear the word “freedom” they think of this time, because this massive oppression and government thuggery has been promoted to them as “freedom” and “democracy” by the left who detest it and attempt to rebrand it to take it over while waving the flag they hate. Hypocrisy is a hallmark of communism. Who wouldn’t hate freedom and democracy, if this is how it’s defined?
They voted for something different, maybe they don’t even understand why they voted for Trump, except that he seemed to be offering something other than a continuation of the ruination of their lives. When looking from that perspective, they’d have voted for a turtle instead of that.
I feel sorry for them, that they never saw the sort of freedom the older generations have, the real freedom, where no one had a camera, no one was being monitored, ever. Where it was dangerous, but that was part of the American experience, taking risks to feel the rush of adrenaline. They built it into their lives synthetically with viral challenges and stupid stunts. They took to extreme sports for the same reason and changed the American experience by doing so.

Back when cars still used breaker points and TVs still ran on vacuum tubes, it nearly defied comprehension, containing over seven million discrete parts. It was the technological pride of America, back when America was still at the top of its industrial and technological game.
The fact that it has taken nearly 60 years to catch up to it is the best testimonial to its greatness.
I saw three Mach diamonds in the exhaust. That means those hot gases are moving at 3 times the speed of sound, or 3 x 767 mph, or a little over 2300 mph. That’ll get a rocket up!
The SpaceX video shows that the rocket is burning methane and liquid oxygen. I assume it’s liquid methane, which is a major component of natural gas. I have not heard of a commercial or NASA rocket burning that mixture before. NASA has used hydrogen/oxygen, or solid fuel (a variant of thermite) in the space shuttle boosters.

Whistleblower: James Comey had FBI ‘honey pot’ spies infiltrate Trump’s 2016 campaign
The House Judiciary Committee is examining a whistleblower report that the FBI targeted Donald Trump soon after he announced his presidential campaign in June 2015, an off-the-books operation ordered by FBI Director James B. Comey that predated the Crossfire Hurricane operation.
The whistleblower disclosure said two female FBI undercover agents infiltrated Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign at high levels and were directed to act as “honeypots” while traveling with Mr. Trump and his campaign staff on the trail.
The off-the-books investigation did not appear to target a specific crime but was more of what agents would describe as a fishing expedition to find something incriminating about Mr. Trump.
The disclosure said Deputy Director Dave Bowdich and Paul Abbate, assistant director in charge of the Washington field office, were also involved in helping Mr. Comey execute the secret probe.
The undercover “honeypot” agents targeted Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, according to the whistleblower.
Mr. Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to the felony charge of making false statements to the FBI in October 2017 about his contacts related to U.S.-Russia relations.
