“He posed absolutely no threat to the national identity of Israel, or to the political and military identity of Rome” Hmmm, I would argue that He posed a significant threat to both in ways almost unimaginable to those back then as He does to authorities today. Firstly one needs to understand the Jewish perspective a lot deeper than just the surface “whitewash” we have received down through history. There are many, many prescribed conditions (too many to go into here) that must fulfill the person of Messiah in Judaism. Of course they focused on the “easy” charges, namely Jesus being/calling himself GOD – although I believe this is NOT what Jesus said. However in Judaism this is cut and dried “ I am the Lord your God, you shall not……..” Blasphemy then and now. Also, a requirement is that He (Messiah) must come from the line of David, and will UNITE all of Israel. They were too blind IMO to see . Next, the Messiah would usher in the final and complete redemption. Again IMO they were too blind to see.(the potential) All of these are possible and available to every generation, and again (IMO) This is what Jesus is alluding to in Matthew 24:34 “ Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” Of course we are left to wonder what exactly a “generation” means in this context. The Romans of course, like those in “power” today have no such appetite for a united Israel (children of God) for the same obvious reason. Their evil domination of this world would/will be utterly defeated and driven from the world by any Messiah led redemption. As always the desire, want and merit lies with each one of us – in every generation. He waits for us.

Such an excellent observation, Dan. And only one reason I always felt in my youth I’d been to church and had worshipped in reverent quietude (Episcopal) as we followed services found in the Book of Common Prayer. The beauty and simplicity of the language always lifted me higher and away from earthly bonds. Our rector, a family friend , was a graduate of the Naval Academy, was blessed with a deep booming voice, but his addresses to us were measured in volume and in tone and substance compelling. I always knew I could find God in that church if I just looked up.
Alas, that was decades ago; and since then the Episcopal Church…and the Anglican Church in Britain where I lived for so long…have turned their eyes in another direction. Which is why when too many churches have done the same, my Book of Common Prayer remains my most precious possession, drawing me upward always, as is right proper so to do 🙏🏻

I was raised Catholic…was Baptized..first Communion..etc.. even was Alter Boy 12-13.. went to Catholic schools mostly…when the Church started injecting into Korean War I started to have “concerns”.. the Mass had been reconfigured etc..I don’t attend Mass but I still believe and pray .. I am very comfortable with my relationship with God..I’ve come to believe if you find a path that works for you then take it..(slight nod to Yogi Berra😂)…
Having said all that I think a lot of “religions” have been corrupted as is our political system…really sad ☹️

A wise man once told me that “religion” done and practiced for “religion’s” sake only – IE merely following and obeying the “rules” is a one way path to spiritual death. While knowledge and learning is certainly required and an AID, true connection and fellowship with God can only really come from an inner connection and desire to know Him, and to seek always HIS truth (the good). A person who is tuned to “see” and “hear” God in all aspects of life, will then follow and be able to “obey” religions obligations, not from a position of “must” but from a position of love and understanding. (why am I doing this, that)

Interestingly, although he’d told me about his adventures during the Great Depression, our circumstances never provided us with an opportunity to sit around that imagined hickory fire. listening to the hounds, and sipping the good ‘shine my grandfather provided. If only I had a Way Back Machine to transport me back to that little camp on Hickory Nut Mountain . . .
Still, I have the rich memories of his story-telling. And everything he told me was true . . . Good night, dear friend. Sleep well. Perhaps we’ll hear his hounds off in the distance . . .

Watched your movie tonight, if. It was everything you said it would be . . . and quite a lot more. In part, this was my father’s world. He lived in an area that was, at the time, genuine outlaw country. He was never an outlaw, never a criminal, but he lived in a world that was very close to people like this. He survived those times, always earned an honest living in the worst of times, raised a family and raised me. I learned so much from him. Thank you, friend . . . 🙂

Yes it’s a propaganda-message show…
I watch it for the eye-candy-costuming/wardrobe & the opulent set builds; everything is original & created by artisans specifically for the show (as does the show ‘Outlander’) and is successfully stunning; I’m far more interested in the artists who create these theatrical scenes than the actors & storylines.
My one gripe with that end of the show is they don’t use real jewelry and it’s obviously unconvincing faked… against the sumptuous couture costuming, it’s painfully obvious.
I remember Julie Andrews’ character made a family of children’s play-clothing out of draperies in ‘The Sound of Music’… I watched it when I was a child learning to sew and I thought she really did that. HA!

Now here is another totally different aspect to this. It has been noted that the rate of migration of the magnetic pole has increased. What does that indicate? That the seething mass of molten metals and minerals that make up the outer core is more disturbed and convective activity has increased.

Windows has a unzip built in but I never used as it is garbage … PKZIP or 7Zip is my preferred tho this Linux box has default that is OK.

Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

They voted yes even though Garland:

BREAKING News: Trump has sent word to the Senate Majority Leader Thune that if the Senate doesn’t confirm AG Gaetz, he will appoint him using the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, which allows for temporary appointments for up to 210 days, with a possible 210-day extension. This individual would not require Senate confirmation.
And I suspect that Gaetz has the dirt on a number of Senators from both parties that will oppose his confirmation.

Dt 31:6, 8….Be strong, courageous and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.
God’s letting us know exactly what the enemy is doing. He’s been going before us and setting up traps against our enemy making sure they’re defeated in everything and every way…everything they’re doing and trying to do against us.
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will march with you. He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you [let there be no cowardice or flinching but] fear not, neither become broken in spirit – depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].
Satan’s agenda is for you to quit, stop trusting God, to be so overwhelmed and so depressed and living in such a darkness that you can’t keep trusting in God.
…Stop looking at what you haven’t done and start looking at what you are doing.
