We have a 40 foot pecan tree and our highest producing peach tree all courtesy of squirrels. (Of course, we also had to repair the underlayment to our tile roof because squirrels love it), but the peaches and plans are superb! 🙃
Those appear to be Fox squirrels but to be sure I would have to see their bellies because there are color variations between Fox and Gray squirrels. If their belly is white or light on gray squirrels.
The predominate species here in central Indiana are Fox squirrels. In fact, though in my younger years I hunted squirrels, I have never seen a gray squirrels in central Indiana and very few in the south of the state. A variant of the Fox squirrel is black in color. They tend to be found only in pods in certain places. There is good size pod in Alexandria, IN just 12 miles north of here.
The next most prominent species in my areas are red squirrels or Piney squirrels. Much smaller than ox squirrels. Though we do have flying squirrels here, the only ones I’ve ever seen I have found dead.
Ever since I got out of the Army, I’ve had no desire to hunt any animal. In fact I don’t desire to kill any wild animals, though I have to protect my home. I do of course kill insects that are pests but no others.

These are called rock squirrels. They live under ground.. Very destructive. They actually burrowed into our house from where the bathtub sits. I woke up one morning to find 3 of them doing the backstroke in the toilet! Saved them and sent them to the Santa Cruz River Squirrel Resoet and Spa (about 4 miles from our property). We had already trapped 37 and taken them there. Just can’t kill them. But…..they do plant trees!

This morning mine is in one of two crock mugs we brought back from Gettysburg which say” Gettysburg- National Military Park”. We got them on our first of five visits to the park about 29 years ago.
Coffee cups can be an expression of what you think, what is important to you, and many other things which hint at who you are! And these have been in our cupboard and used all that time since we got then. The only cup I’ve drank more coffee from than this mug is a military issued canteen cup.

Well this is a different kind of an update. Some thing that is happening in the US so I am not calling it “Israel Update”, but for me it is by far the most important news.
While I am not religious what is happening now is really biblical in my view.
If you asked me a year ago I wouldn’t have guessed in any way.
You all know that Trump is making appointments. And I read some of the analysis of Sundance. Some he likes some he doesn’t. There are various reasons that all make sense according to logic. But remember that Israel is in an existential threat and attacked and Israel is pushed to a corner in the International arena. And Iran could potentially have a nuclear bomb and the Biden’s Administration was appeasing Iran and opposing Israeli responses and denying critical munitions and equipment.
So to the point. And forgive me if I don’t know the American politics aspect. I am talking from an Israeli point of view. The appointments that Trump made so far are God sent to Israel.
And I mean it almost literally:
Mike Huckubee – Is going to be the US ambassador to Israel. He is a man of God!
And I mean a Baptist Minister. He is one of the best friends that Israel ever had.
He is a regular visitor and we feel that he is like family. He is close to Bibi and many in Israel. He is more right wing on Israeli matters than Bibi. While his predecessor was close to the Palestinian Authority and would black label various “settlers” of Judea and Samaria based on the Palestinian complaints and imposed sanctions on individuals and some organizations. The upcoming Ambassador believes that Israel is the historic owner of those lands.
Pete Hegseth – Secretary of Defense. And you may not know but I consider him too a “man of God”. Or shall I say a Christian believer with multiple visits to Israel and many friends in Israel including walking in the steps of Christ film that I will post later of you want to see.
And the man is a war hero who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan with decorations for bravery. And he gets it. He understands what’s going on. As a Fox News personality he visited Israel and covered the subject of Hamas in a fair and truthful way.
Elise Stefanik – US Ambassador for the UN- Well I don’t know her religious convictions but I just watched her speech in the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) 5 months ago and she quotes Ezekiel. She has been to Israel many times. She is an amazing friend. If you remember how she ripped the Presidents of the Universities about their antisemitism and exposed their evil and caused them to resign. You saw her unique ability to confront evil. And I have no doubt that God sent her to fight antisemitism (amongst other things) and therefore the hub of antisemitism in the world is in the UN, where she will be. Please watch her speech that I will post. This is the best speech I have ever saw from a visitor to Israel.
-Mike Waltz – National Security Advisor. I know that Sundance has a negative things to say about him. I didn’t know anything about him until today. And I watched quite a few interviews and I can tell with certainty that he gets it. He understands the situation in this war of Israel very good maybe even better than many Israelis. He was a Special Forces soldier and said that he “fought alongside with Israelis” (I don’t know where? Maybe he meant in training).
He is all for heavy heavy sanctions on Iran and who knows, maybe God sent him to enable or help Israel to take out the Iranian nuclear reactor? Again, I get it that he is into the US Intel Community but as to Israel he gets it and will be able to give a correct Advise as an Advisor.
There are more appointments but I am especially excited about the first three above and wanted to share. When you see the videos you get what I mean. Specially don’t miss the one with Mrs. Stefanik.
If any of you knows about Mr. John Ratcliffe that will be the CIA Director please share. Why him? Is he a good hat?

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Just wanted to share the following cautionary tale, & the importance of being your/family’s #1 health advocate.
2 days ago I learn MIL hub’s legs stopped working suddenly. He is 92, but otherwise in good health. He had a neuro appt yesterday, but no Dx.
Last evening he ends up in ER. SIL had insisted on taking– despite hesitation per some valid fears he’d be lost in the system, given his age (MIL is a retired nurse).
Ex alerts me they’re saying he has GBS- Guillain Barré Syndrome. This one I know… I say they need to clean his blood (Plasmapheresis/PE), asap before the paralysis spreads. Also admit him to ICU to monitor his breathing. (Other treatment- IVIG: high dose immune globulin intravenously).
I also send info re. GBS/CIDP Foundation who have been around for well over a decade & can coordinate with the hospital on treatment.
Got an update in the wee hours… they started the plasmapheresis & admitted him. Hopefully it won’t progress & he may recover as best as can be expected.
Here’s the MOST IMPORTANT part… I thought to ask if he had any recent immunizations?
👉 Yes. 2 days before the onset of symptoms, he received the FLU & PNEUMONIA vaccines!

All those questions you are asking, Why is it taking so long and those what ifs…are taking you off your faith, taking you away from having your heart fixed on God…There’s things that the enemy tries to attack us and he tries to delay our prayers from being answered….God is faithful to perform His Word [Is 55:11].
We have that confidence and the assurance that if we ask anything according to His will and in agreement with His plan. He listens and He hears [1 John 5:14-15].
And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since_ we [positively] know what He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.
Give His Words back to Him and His words will not return to Him void. I’m going to give His Words back to Him and He’s going to hear me and I’m going to have that confidence that He’s going to answer.
While you’re standing, guard your mouth. Remember death and life are in the power of the tongue…Stay in agreement with God whether in my prayer closet or if talking with family, or having dinner. I want to have my mouth in alliance with God’s word, not how I feel. That’s how we keep our hearts fixed on Him and that we don’t grow weary and faint when we don’t see an instant result to our prayer.
