Biography: George Williams was an English philanthropist and founder of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA). The YMCA was established in London, England, in 1844 and would grow to become a worldwide organization with a focus on the spiritual, mental, and physical development of young people.
Williams was born on a farm in Somerset, England, and at the age of 14, he left home to become a draper’s apprentice in Bridgwater. In 1841, he moved to London and worked for a draper there. Concerned about the lack of healthy activities available for young men in the city, he founded the first YMCA to provide a space where young men could gather for prayer and Bible study outside the temptations and harshness of urban life.

Let ’em. First of all, the GOP screwed themselves. The GOP House – led by Kevin McCarthy up until a year ago, then the bizarre actions of Speaker Johnson – locked shields with Democrats to pass Ukraine funding. Half the caucus is effectively under the control of Democrats. We never had a majority.
If we squeak out a 1-2 seat majority, the mid-terms become the focus and Pres. Trump is going to have to clean House to get rid of a lot of these losers.
And don’t forget, Trump is a Unitary Executive per SCOTUS. He can direct Executive Branch law enforcement to start going after corrupt Democrats around the country. I don’t now if he will, but they will not be successful in their efforts especially if Trump says, “OK, I raise you one House subpoena with these three criminal subpoenas for bribery.”
Everything the House might want to do to Trump, Trump can do to members of Congress.
NYT has it a 66% chance the Republicans hold the house.
