In the future, we obviously need open source election systems – “nothing proprietary.” The entire software system, “soup to nuts,” from election-device drivers to the final tabulation, should be entirely “open.” The very best minds in the design and deployment of secure systems should be engaged in the design, implementation, and peer-review process.
“We already know how to do this.” Open-source is used for the implementation and deployment of the most-critical software that we use today. (Including the crypto technology that secures this “https” web-site!) Likewise, financial transaction-management systems and even entire computer operating systems. We know(!) how to do this right. We already know how to manage the projects and how to execute them securely. With plenty of already-proven successful outcomes.
The “open source” would extend across the entire data-handling pipeline: from candidate and voter-roll preparation, to the generation of ballots, to the election machinery (whatever it is), and the subsequent tabulations which lead to final – and auditable – results. “Soup to Nuts” … Everything.
We know how to do this right. And, internationally(!), we should be doing it.
Absolutely. Open source the software and the operating systems – for all equipment used to collect, transmit and calculate.
Caution though, open source and open standards can easily be co-opted. Big Tech does this all the time.
The governance of the open source foundation is crucial. This includes a low bar to entry (to prevent BigTech and/or government form taking it over) and it must be royalty free. Eclipse is the benchmark for governance.
There also must be an open standard for those who want to access public data for monitoring, statistics and audit. Ffom paper scanners to final results. OASIS is the model here.

A Bloomberg article regarding the secret meeting focused on the part of the briefing in which Obama alleviated the journalist’s concerns about a potential Trump presidency. Actually, not giving military absentee ballots happened in 2o20 in some instances. Many sailors at sea complained in 2020 about not receiving their ballots at all, and others that claimed they received them after it was too late.
Many states had servicemembers’s absentee ballots that came in late that were ‘tabulated’ so heavily skewed that it contradicted past percentages and polling amongst that demographic.
I don’t watch the MSM enough – but – I’m very curious about how much play they give this item today + in coming days…

Without free speech, Donald’s Trump’s candidacy would not have been possible. As the great beneficiary of free expression, he is most likely to be its strong protector. His opponent has called for dangerous limits and restrictions on this indispensable first right of Americans, while the Trump campaign has defended it vigorously. We must not lose it.
Only Trump has warned openly and urgently of the pressing threat of nuclear war, which would be the hellish end of all of us. His opponent has shown no appreciation at all of this ultimate threat to our lives. We simply can’t gamble here. We can’t bet wrong.

I must say, after watching video of his last rally last night, I was a bit choked up. Then I was browsing titles over a GP and they had several articles about foreigners and organizations praying for him and a victory for all people. That just hit me square in the heart.
The man put everything he had and could into his campaign ending with a marathon day of 4 rallies in different states with massive crowds at each one. He was always positive, encouraging, engaging people and showing us his love of country and its citizens through out his campaign, all three of them really. . He had the energy and happy warrior attitude right to the last note of YMCA. He walked off finally and watching him go just hit me like a wave. He walked off knowing he had done all he could to get we the people moving and acting to save this country. He walked off at peace with himself I’m sure, confident and relaxed.
The man is unstoppable. He is a servant of God sent to help us. He is our leader. God bless him and give him some peace and a well deserved nap! Big night ahead.
