Seek court continuances and drag out the process so his lawyers keep ringing his cash register. Subpoena his computer and phone records. Nothing will likely be there at this point, but it doesn’t matter – the process is the punishment.
Once all this is done, then sue him in civil court for civil rights violations of Ashli’s life.

I really noticed this trend when my widowed mother was diagnosed with dementia in 2010. When we sold her condo and moved her into a local senior living facility, the price was reasonable and the services were very good – plenty of staff, many who had been there for years, decent food, lots of activities. After a few years, it was “bought” by a larger company with a half dozen such facilities. The price went UP and the quality and quantity of the staff and services went down.
When I had to move her to full memory care in 2015, I again found a smaller, independent facility. They had an activities coordinator, a chef who made tasty, healthy food, and an RN on staff 12 hours a day, seven days a week. After two years, they were “bought” by a national firm and EVERYTHING changed! The staffing level went down (and was mostly foreigners, many of whom barely spoke English), the nurse was only there M-F 9-4, the food was absolutely cheap crap, and the new director drove a brand new BMW! Oh, and the price went UP but by that point, I couldn’t move my mother because she was almost out of money and nowhere else would take her if she ended up needing Medicaid.
There is a LOT of money to be made in the medical, and related, fields but most of it is going to the administration and very little is going to the patients or the lower level providers! Thanks for nothing, again, Obama!!
Yes, exactly. I am seeing the exact same process in a relative’s care facility, recently bought by a new corporate owner. The first owner is probably the set-up entity: good care, good food, etc., which builds up the census.
The new owners fired the great chef and is beginning to cut staff.

A lot of the old-fashioned “rest homes” were put out of business when governments mandated new “health and safety” standards that the small facilities could not afford to meet.
I’m all for health and safety, but we’ve all seen what happens when legislators try to decide what is and isn’t safe.
That’s a shame, because they are essentially buying the people, and they are people who can’t pick up and go elswhere if they don’t like the changes.
