When one (or two in my case) smallish furballs crawl up onto your chest and fall asleep while purring you realize that they don’t give a hoot how out-of-sorts you might have been, they see you only as warm, comfortable and safe. Darn near impossible to remain annoyed towards anyone or anything at that point….

I respectfully disagree. Did it occur to you that your 2 smallish furballs know you are feeling out of sorts and are crawling up on your chest, to be near to your heart, and to comfort you BY falling asleep and purring? Animals fear bad people. They know. AND you yourself (admitted), “Darn near impossible to remain annoyed towards anyone or anything at that point….” !

But they crawled up no matter what mood I was in altho I’m usually in a pretty good mood.
I know for sure our cats always sensed when either one of us was under the weather. They would come up and keep us company by staying very close.
See? AND, they crawled up no matter what mood you were in, and always sensed when either of you were under the weather…THEY ALWAYS KNOW!
My experience is that cats and most domesticated animals can sense if a human is safe and friendly towards them or not. I agree with the theory that they can also sense if an already trusted human is unwell and needs their attention. But some, though not all, have an innate sense to sense an unwell state in humans they don’t already know.
My experience also has taught me that cats love a quiet and settled person, such as one sitting in an easy chair or sofa or laying in bed, so they crawl up and settle down to nap with such a person, since that’s how they behave with other familiar and friendly creatures. My father disliked cats but when he visited us they always came up on his lap because he was gentle and a somewhat sedentary person in his old age. To his credit he accepted them and would not chase them away.
Cats and dogs as well are simply some others of Gods creatures have the ability to sense “friends or foes” in other living animals of various species and live in harmony with them. I’ve seen countless videos of people adopting other animals who needed rescuing due to injury or being orphaned when very young, and the animals coexisted very well with their owners/ caregivers.
This is all part of our Creator’s Plan.

I always loved being born in February, the one month unlike all others. You are clearly in a lot of pain. I know that pain very well. Still, and so far, I have found the inner strength to push on. I am glad you have the kitties. Sometimes the beloved pet(s) we have are all that get(s) us through the day/night.

I own a Toyota FJ cruiser and have been very happy with it! Bought when I was driving a big truck so Sherry could go when she needed to regardless of conditions. For my money Toyota and Subaru are making the most reliable and cost effective vehicles out there now.
RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE

When I was at one of my lowest (mental) points in life, I couldn’t get out of bed some days. I had no energy or motivation and was barely getting by.
I had therapy once per week, and on this particular week, I didn’t have much to ‘bring’ to the session. He asked how my week was and I really had nothing to say.
“What are you struggling with?” he asked.
I gestured around me and said “I dunno man. Life.”
Not satisfied with my answer, he said “No, what exactly are you worried about right now? What feels overwhelming? When you go home after this session, what issue will be staring at you?”
I knew the answer, but it was so ridiculous that I didn’t want to say it. I wanted to have something more substantial. Something more profound. But I didn’t. So I told him,
“Honestly? The dishes. It’s stupid, I know, but the more I look at them the more I CAN’T do them because I’ll have to scrub them before I put them in the dishwasher, because the dishwasher sucks, and I just can’t stand and scrub the dishes.”
I felt like an idiot even saying it. What kind of grown woman is undone by a stack of dishes? There are people out there with actual problms, and I’m whining to my therapist about dishes? But my therapist nodded in understanding and then said:
“RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE.”
I began to tell him that you’re not supposed to, but he stopped me.
“Why the hell aren’t you supposed to? If you don’t want to scrub the dishes and your dishwasher sucks, run it twice. Run it three times, who cares? Rules do not exist, so stop giving yourself rules.”
It blew my mind in a way that I don’t think I can properly express.
That day, I went home and tossed my smelly dishes haphazardly into the dishwasher and ran it three times. I felt like I had conquered a dragon. The next day, I took a shower lying down. A few days later. I folded my laundry and put them wherever they fit. There were no longer arbitrary rules I had to follow, and it gave me the freedom to make accomplishments again.
Now that I’m in a healthier place, I rinse off my dishes and put them in the dishwasher properly. I shower standing up. I sort my laundry. But at a time when living was a struggle instead of a blessing, I learned an incredibly important lesson:
THERE ARE NO RULES. RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE!

We run the dishwasher twice when “someone” doesn’t want to unload it. “Those dishes are dirty, Mom” and I pull them out to find the little bit of water leftover from the last wash cycle, so ya know they’re clean!

Rutherford’s early work in radiation was groundbreaking. He was the first to realize that radioactive elements decayed at a predictable rate, a concept known as half-life. Rutherford made perhaps his most significant contribution to physics with his gold foil experiment in 1909. He discovered that when alpha particles were fired at a thin sheet of gold foil, some were deflected back, suggesting that atoms were mostly empty space with a dense nucleus at the center. It’s official,
I got home really late from a job a couple states over, but (now yesterday) was my 25th wedding anniversary. Long time. The wife got me flowers and beef jerky. Not sure what to make of that since I don’t like flowers much. I got her flowers, a ton of roses, the best I could find at several Krogers, two days ago since I knew I would be away from home, but she got me flowers and I swear half of them are thistles. I am not sure what a thistle looks like exactly, but nothing in that flower vase looked friendly. She doesn’t know what any of them are either, but she thought it was funny.
That’s why I married her 25 years ago. It will always be interesting. We took a vow many, many years ago to never do anything too special for an anniversary, but I guess we both felt like a quarter century is sort of special so we should do something.
Also at some point I will need to tell her that I don’t actually like Jack Links beef jerky. She’s just got it for me so much I haven’t the heart to do it. I like actual beef jerky. I mean, I’ll eat it. But I wouldn’t make a habit of eating that ultra processed crap. Eating stuff like that could ruin my modeling career if I choose to pursue that.

Obviously I very deeply believe in God and am a Christian, but the “near death experience” thing is problematic on many levels. The first of which is that when you begin to deprive the brain of oxygen it goes into a sort of “red alert” mode, where it begins trying to route around the normal pathways that are being disrupted and eventually just starts accepting any and all neural activity as “real” because there isn’t really a choice. In every day life there is so much information making its way to the brain from your sensory organs, as well as a lot of “noise” internally and the brain is well designed to cope with all of this and filter out what doesn’t make sense. When the brain is dying, it loses the ability to do that.
So these Near Death Experiences are basically that. The brain loses it’s ability to “keep it real”, so you will see, hear, taste, smell, touch, and experience all kinds of things that aren’t really there. Since your brain is so adept at extrapolating situations from incoming data, it can literally “create” reality for you to experience. Scientists have been trying to take advantage of that for years to make blind people “see” or even for ultrarealistic VR. But when the brain is struggling to stay alive, this goes into overdrive and nothing experienced is actually real and a lot of it doesn’t make much sense after the fact.
I also have a theological problem with the NDE thing. When you die, you are dead and your soul moves elsewhere. There is no “between” time. There is no “soul is escaping” kind of thing. Either the body is dead or it is not. And when it is not, the soul is bound to it. The idea that the soul can somehow “float” above the body while it is dying and observe and then suddenly return because some doctors got the heart going again kind of spits in the face of the entire concept of the soul, the body, and our place in God’s Creation. You get a finite time here, set by God. And when the time is up, you go to Him or you go to your self-imposed isolation. You don’t “float between worlds” and God is never wrong about your time here.

Last, there are scammers out there stealing titles to property by filing quitclaim deeds. Go to your local public records website and check the deed to your property. If all is not ok, take action. If all is ok, I suggest checking your title once a month to every 3 months, just to make sure all is well. It angers me to no end that we have to take so many precautionary measures to protect ourselves these days, but better safe than sorry. The aftermath is much more difficult to clean up than protecting oneself beforehand.
We’re well familiar with the TV commercial where an alert system is being sold to one for a fee. Wouldn’t it be great if it were free? Well in August of 2023, Palm Beach County, Florida created its own Property Fraud Alert Verification service! All property owners were notified in one of their monthly emails it sends out. The registration process is explained, and it is quite simple to set up. It is recommended that if more than one name is on your deed, (example husband’s and wife’s), a PFAV should be registered in EACH name separately. Once the registration process is complete, confirmation email(s) is/are sent to each registered name(s), showing the alert system is active. So when some lowlife criminal files a document on your property in which the owner(s) names appear, the fraud alert is instantly emailed to them. It is legit, and it is FREE! Perhaps other counties across the country are also doing this, but if any Treepers live in PBC, and haven’t got this message, contact the County Property Appraiser for details.

WARNING: If you are banking with Chase beware. I am at a conference in Ocala and an attendee had gotten a new phone this past week. She had transferred funds from her Chase account on the new phone. Chase took the funds and kicked off an investigation despite Verizon telling them the funds were hers. She said others have been similarly screwed by Chase.
If everything works out, Chase will eventually return her funds to the State of FL where she can claim them. This can take up to two years.
I know someone else this type of thing happened to, but with Zelle. I am glad you are posting this. I wouldn’t go near Chase for anything, but so many don’t know.

Israel Update:
This is a short one with only some of the main points.
– We woke up with some 150 rockets and about 6 drones from Lebanon.
One of the drones was directed to the home of Bibi. He and his wife were not home. There is a reported hit on a structure but it’s not clear if it’s his home or a neighbour. Not much damage.
Bibi released an optimistic video right after with a smile saying that “Sinwar died and he will not be deterred till we have a victory.”
The only one who was killed in the 150 rocket rain was an Arab who drove his car and got hit. Remember the 182 missiles from Iran also only killed a Gazan who happened to be in the West Bank.
A couple of minor injuries.
In the past week the IDF intercepted some 20 drones. Mainly by the Air Force. We don’t have a proper solution for drones yet. Our engineers are working on it and it’s a matter of time.
– Yesterday was a massive attack at Jabalia (North Gaza). It was unusual. Tens of terrorists were killed and there were also others killed. It was massive and the locals reported that no one was permitted to approach not even rescue teams. In Israel there was a wild sea of rumors about hostage rescue in the area. We also saw some helicopters landing in hospitals. The Speaker of the IDF asked to stop the rumors for the sake of the families who have their sons and daughters over there.
Today there is no mention.
I am sure that something happened and there is a delay on publication. Probably will be known later today or tomorrow.
– Attack on Bibi gives Israel legitimacy for a number of actions like attack on Kamenahi (leader of Iran).

– A ramming car attack hit a police car at full speed in the West Bank (Samaria).
The Officers left the car seconds before and were not injured. The terrorist was neutralized killed.

Keep tuned. I will pay attention to what happened in Gaza. The main rumor was a hostage rescue that was not successful and not fruitless either. But who knows. Those are rumors. I don’t normally post rumors but this one is intense and I saw videos of a helicopter landing in a hospital. We shall see.
PS. I see now the IDF gave evacuation orders in some areas in Beirut. So the attack is imminent.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
