El Rushbo often told us that early polls were not polls but tools of influence, bought and paid fro by one faction or another.
The polls only become believable about two weeks out from the election, because pollsters have to (eventually) demonstrate credibility so as to score their next contract.

It’s a phenomenon one sees sometimes where a married couple begins to look like each other . . .
I remember reading about this in an article in “Parade” magazine (Sunday paper insert) way back in the 1960’s (I think I was about 11 at the time and the item piqued my interest because already I had seen this phenomenon where the husband and wife look somewhat like brother and sister). My own parents did not at all look like brother and sister but I had noticed this in some of the other grown up people i had observed.
The “Parade” article explained that studies show – I think that’s what they said – an explanation could be that the resemblance to a parent is one of the factors weighed (by some people) when choosing a mate: men look for someone that looks like their mother and women look for someone who looks like their Dad and that’s how they wind up looking like brother and sister! Hmm! A scientific explanation (based on a survey).
