Yes, as an employer it’s very expensive, a huge part of that is the huge tax hit on the employer, removing that incentivizes granting more overtime, and making overtime less expensive compensates for our shortages of skilled workers.
I’ve heard that OT often forces a skilled worker into a higher tax bracket, which made them cap the hours they worked, though they could and wanted to do more.
Just one of the million negative incentives built into the tax albatross.
