Everybody knows GoFundMe, is my guess “why”. It just rolls off the tongue. So does Samaritan’s Purse, but not so many people know about it. Or some know but avoid it because it’s got a “Christian” ring? Of course. GoFundMe will likely pick up some (or a lot) of the slack. It’s the end that counts, not necessarily the means.

The address is 83 Carolina Lakes Rd, Sanford NC 27332 . The truck will be there every day from 10 AM to 5 PM until we fill it up . Around here many churches and radio stations do this. They find, or people offer their big rigs, they have a collection site and the truck goes directly to a POC in the disaster zone. This time it will be really tricky since most of the roads and bridges have washed out. No doubt where there is a will there is a way and the supplies will make it! God Bless them for putting this together.
If people are low on cash to go out and purchase items and still want to help they can always find something in the cupboard to drop off. My elderly neighbor did this, asked me to drop it off at the site for her for a group doing an Ian collection drive.
I would add pillows to the list. The thought of all that they need is overwhelming:(

Our Canadian dollars are still held in limbo by Givesendgo thanks to Justin’s Government after we wanted to send money to our revered truckers during the Freedom Rally of 2022. My husbands bank account was frozen which was a shocker to say the least. I really have little trust in giving money to anyone now but I think Samaritans Purse might be the best??

GoFundMe tried to give themselves a 19% tip for my donation. I changed the tip to zero. Given GoFundMe’s past actions against conservative causes, I see no reason for the site to profit from donations from Trump supporters. In fact, the site should be making a major donation itself.

Aren’t they part of the disaster right now? It might be helpful to shift assets to organizations that can help them as well as those around them.
