We are the non-pretending audience that doesn’t need to have the points of continual similarity pointed out. However, there is something rather remarkable about those in Washington DC who never seem to be able to connect the same proverbial dots.
In the latest development of attempted President Trump assassin Ryan Routh, the Dept of Homeland Security and FBI are now admitting that Routh was on a watch list of Americans who traveled to fight with Ukraine. The people on the watch list were supposed to be scrutinized and tracked when they reentered the USA. However, Ryan Routh, “fell through the cracks,” thereby giving him space and opportunity to carry out his long-planned assassination attempt against President Trump.
The revelation itself is not a surprise. There is a consistent pattern of names registered with the FBI as potential threats to the homeland who “fall through the cracks,” including the Tsarnaev brothers (Boston Marathon), Tashfeen Malik (San Bernardino terrorists) and Omar Mateen (Pulse nightclub). It is always the crack fallers who seemingly end up carrying out their endeavors.
It’s likely the only reason DHS and the FBI are admitting to the almost fatal “mistake,” is because there is a document trail for Ryan Routh which will come to light as an outcome of DC’s “assassination review task force.” After all, Ryan Routh met with “someone” in Washington DC, when he was there advocating for intervention.
Someone was likely to discover that Routh was on a list of people supposed to be monitored, so DHS/FBI release the information to cloud any non-pretending suspicion upon them.

One DHS official reportedly knew Routh traveled to Ukraine, though there’s no indication that the FBI ever investigated him upon his return and during his years-long and at times bombastic campaign to drum up support for Kyiv. It’s also unclear if federal law enforcement was aware he wrote a self-published book that appeared to call for Trump’s assassination. As you take off your shoes and undergo extensive scrutiny as a result of the Patriot Act, the subsequently formed DHS and the TSA, it’s worth remembering, as initially sold, the creation of the DHS was specifically intended to stop domestic terror threats, ie. EXACTLY the activity that Ryan Routh was engaged in.
The justification to create the DHS and subsequent intrusive activity of the United States security apparatus, was to stop unstable and sketchy people from carrying out violence internally within the homeland. However, as many voices warned at the time, the mission of the agencies created by The Patriot Act, actualized with DHS and FBI conducting surveillance of parents at school board meetings, monitoring white men in the U.S. military, tracking pastors, preachers and Christian congregations, and registering law-abiding gun owners while the sketchy and unstable simply run amok.

If you’ve read this blog for a while as well as many other ind blogs by people who actually do look into things, you soon learn nothing happens in Washington BECAUSE they don’t want it to happen. My frustration is no long with the Washington bunch who lie, cheat, conflate and obfuscate, my ire is rising at the American people. How can 90% of the US population put up with this bullshit. That’s roughly 35Million people who either don’t give a damn – they simply are disconnected to the realities of what’s really happening in America OR they don’t want to know because it forces responsible acts from them.

I’d love to see the American people demand actual penance from our government. But at this point I don’t know if anything short of a nuclear bomb would cover all their sins.

Pardon this tangential comment, but I’ve also noticed that most of the articles discussing Routh’s sniper nest either don’t address his rifle or they quickly gloss over it. The man was using a 7.62mm SKS. This is a Chinese clone of the Kalashnikov AK-47. If it was an AR-15 variant, you can bet your ass the communist media would be loudly braying about it. But because the rifle is one from their tribe, they don’t seem to want to talk about it.
SKS is a different rifle. It was a Soviet Service rifle before the AK. Only similarity is the cartridge.
Only a complete doofus would tape a scope to a rifle. Even the FBI knows about scope mounts though it is a bit of a challenge on an SKS.

As to the point emphasized concerning the Patriot Act, the amount of surveillance activity knocking my cell phone off the network within the last 2 years is outrageous. We hear the plains, and sometimes a train, then off line we go. We have a ton of DC people moving to the county. As they come in the surveillance increases. We are also a geographical crossroads for drugs. The county over had the highest ODs in the country for several years running. It is so bad, I carry Narcan at all times since that stuff can go airborne or impact someone who has a trace that can get on a person.
So yes, we the average people are the threat to the people that consider us to be disposable. I opposed the Patriot Act then and I oppose the thing now. Unfortunately we now know how far the citizens around us will go to turn upon others as demonstrated by the virus situation.
I pray for those of us who have a brain and use it.

One of the things I noticed right after the Patriot Act was put in place, was that the excuse given that they didn’t have the budget or staff for continuous surveillance of obvious threats, didn’t match up with their solution of monitoring every man, woman, and child in America.
