One long-time friend has always been a Dem and me an R/conservative. But we have been able to discuss debate many issues, ideas, policies. He was always great at it.
He said a couple weeks ago that “Trump lied about being the potus to do the insulin at $35. All Trump does is lie.” A few days later, I sent him video evidence that Trump was telling the truth. He got really angry and dismissed video evidence.
Then he said it was executed during Biden/KH. I said… b/c… NANCY controlled the House.
He then said: ‘Trump is the ANTICHRIST!” And he’s a lawyer and a VP w/a corp… and he’s an atheist which I pointed out. I asked: “what is wrong w/you?!’ You are very smart. Why are you talking like this?”
We’ve been friends for 20+ years. We basically still are friends … sort of… so I still do send him stuff … and we still talk some. He usually doesn’t respond but likely does read it and the links.

In 2021 the US Army War college put out a simple suggested deterrent for any invasion: pledge to destroy what they’re actually after, the plants that produce 90% of the world’s most advanced (smallest feature size) integrated circuits.

There was a legitimate chip shortage before that act was passed. The national security aspects of chip manufacturing have been known for a long time. It is somewhat amusing the amount of bucks going to Intel – a mis-managed company since Gordon Moore passed through nature into eternity.
Note that TSMC’s share price fell sharply after Covid and has only recently recovered. But that’s a different subject.
Chip production has obvious economic importance at the macro level. At the strategic level, TSMC is not where the action is at. There is only one company, and one company only for a long time, that manufactures the equipment all the other primes purchase to produce chips at leading/bleeding edge inter-angstrom lengths. That would be a Dutch company – Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithograph. A bit late in the game, but the Netherlands slapped export restrictions on advanced chip making equipment to China in 2023 and 2024. The Trump administration tried to block such sales in 2018.
The Chinese can buy all the non-leading edge chip manufacturing equipment they need in secondary markets.
CCP wants the real estate. They know the chip plants are obtainable.

Being a Christian and Catholic, I’ve read/listened to a variety of wise, devout clergy — not wachos and they r out there too — explain that we must focus on getting spiritually ready for what’s coming to the US and the world.
I’m trying to do it. It’s actually hard to do- pray consistently, love God with “my whole heart mind and soul.” Spiritual strength is going to be necessary if what could happen does happen.
Persecutions, no food, no electricity… may be coming … and we Americans are weak. And people will act desperately and violently to eat, etc. We Americans are a far cry away from the metal and courage of the Greatest Generation.
But IF PDJT wins … I think we will be ok… and God will give us chance to right this ship and lead the world to do the same.

I was thinking the same. If they were going to invade, the Biden era would have been the most opportune time.
It’s almost even on Taiwan with a large percentage of the yòunger population not opposed to a Chinese reunification. I don’t think China has any intention of a military take over of Taiwan. They will simply play the long game and wait for the majority of the Taiwan population to vote for unification.

When Lindsey Graham comes out with his federal ban idea right after the issue has been turned over to the states, he knows exactly what he is doing; he’s been at this a long, long time.

Flying from San Antonio today – more active, senior military personnel on the plane going to DC than i can remember seeing. And I fly half a million miles a year. As in I have never seen so many senior military personnel. Maybe 20 senior personnel in the active duty catagory – all going to DC. Including one military man with a trained bloodhound (cadaver or bomb?) – who flew first class and was not queried about the dog in any way, shape or form. . This was clearly a dog meant for the battlefield. All appeared to have very senior military passes. What military gear there was, seemed to be more desert camo, not something seen in Ukraine. All were very quiet – no small talk.
Another hint – one man had about 10 camo-baseball caps attached to his military backback. As if they were ready to be given away as gifts, to some foreign troops somewhere.
