President Trump told the Daily Mail during an interview that he now declines intelligence briefings by the U.S Intelligence Community. This is the most exceptional news in a long time. WATCH:
I have researched the Intelligence Community, aka Deep State apparatus for many years. What President Trump outlines in that response is extremely accurate. The evidence for the corrupt and false presentations from the aggregate IC can be found in the example of 51 intel officials saying the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. They did not misspeak, they lied.
Beyond the reasoning expressed by President Trump about “leaks”, the best part of his remarks pertains to his brutally honest acceptance that the Intelligence Community is corrupt overall. Yes, yes, it is. It is refreshing to hear someone say it openly, publicly and with no hesitation about the reality of it.
Imagine a world where the Intelligence Community controls the outcomes of politics. A world where the sitting president of the United States has a national intelligence apparatus giving him advice that his political opponent, and those who support that opponent, should be considered “domestic terrorists.” Then accept that we don’t have to imagine it, because this is the reality of the current situation.
They started out by saying Trump supporters were extremists, then went through a phase normalizing government hatred by saying unmasked and unvaccinated people should be placed in camps, and now the evolution of Trump supporters and our military being the largest domestic terrorist threat.

Yet, it is exactly the Obama era shift to fine tune the domestic intelligence apparatus that has created this dynamic.

(1) The Patriot Act turned the intel surveillance radar from foreign searches for terrorists to domestic searches for terrorists.
(2) Obama/Biden then redefined what is a “terrorist” to include their political opposition.
In the era shortly after 9/11, the DC national security apparatus, instructed by Vice President Dick Cheney, was constructed to preserve continuity of government and simultaneously view all Americans as potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) were created specifically for this purpose.
After 9/11/01, the electronic surveillance system, that was originally created to monitor threats from abroad, was retooled to monitor threats inside our country. That is when all of our electronic ‘metadata’ came under federal surveillance.
That inflection point, and the process that followed, was exactly what Edward Snowden tried to point out.
What Barack Obama and Eric Holder did with that new construct was refine the internal targeting mechanisms, so that only their political opposition became the target of this new national security system.

Yes…. on the “refuge for sociopaths” but it’s more complicated than that. It has more to do with being granted access to power and what that does to people. The psychological effects power over others are very well documented even when the experiments were done among friends.
This is why when I hear people say “in the right hands, these intelligence tools are useful” to that I reflect on what happens to people when they have power… even restricted power. It’s just what happens.

From what I’ve read, the IC rarely knows anything more, and often knows less, about what’s going on in the wider world than what you can glean by reading international news. Often what the IC “knows” is complete BS.
Your post reminded me of what I’d posit as a secondary or tertiary function, or primary if gathering information, factual information and intelligence isn’t the main mission, that being making up convincing lies.
Remember the secret German server story in the 2020 election? I think Sidney Powell or Lin Wood forwarded that one. Was that one of the IC’s lie operations, meaning they were feeding disinformation to sources whom Sidney, Lin or whomever trusted? Totally agree regarding the crowd’s reaction. I was so glad that PDJT has acknowledged the crowd in many interviews. I even heard him talk about the man directly behind him with the hat and black shirt who was peering all through the crowd for the assassin. His behavior exemplified the crowds’ behavior in the extreme.
