I’m currently in between jobs (business was not good at my last job) and I spoke with the county assistance office today. The case worker told me that in the 20 years she’s been at her job, 600 cases per worker would be considered very stressful, but now they each have 1500 cases. She also said a lot of it has to do with the increase in refugees and immigrants, in addition to that robust economy we’re being told about. I’m in PA btw.
I live in Nebraska. Thousands of refugees are brought here by Catholic Social Services and are given 3 months in a furnished apartment, free tuition, free food, job assistance….they have a lot of difficulty acclimating to the U.S.
