Earlier today the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) revised the annual jobs report to remove 818,000 previously recorded jobs.

When asked about the troubling indicator of this revision, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo had no idea the BLS had made this announcement. WATCH:

Wait till Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Kansas City railroads go on strike tomorrow. A lot of freight in North America will come to a standstill.
For every strike day, equals 5 days of future freight backlogs.
CN and CPKC are not only the two main railroads in Canada, but both reach into the USA, with CPKC also servicing the Mexico city auto industry.
Canada’s July wheat harvest is on the rails, right now. A strike would severely disrupt the AG industry, by the grain standstill and a halt on fertilizer movements.
I suspect with end of the DNC convention we are going to see a cascade of falling dominoes all resulting from years of mis-management and non-management of our country. This is one of the first dominoes. Even though it is essentially a Canadian issue its impact on the US is likely to be significant in and of itself, but mostly because it will tip US dominoes that will contribute to the thunderous cascade. Bear in mind with Biden leaving the DNC convention Monday night for yet another vacation we will be without a President for more than half a year. To put it mildly, Biden has made it clear that he has a short-timer frame of mind.
If this cascade occurs, Trump will probably win in a monumental landslide that will wash over whatever election fraud is in the works.
It is not just a Canadian issue. CPKC railroad operates in Canada, USA and Mexico.
What will happen, Justin from Canada will let the strike happen, and become an international issue for Kammy to come in and save the continent.
From lumber and Potash out west, to autos and trucks to the south and east. This strike would seriously cause massive layoffs in dozens of industries. They will let it happen, so Kammy can play superhero, and get her diplomatic merit badge.

There is also a railroad saying, that if an overseas shipping container can reach the Kansas City rail hub, it can be at its destination in North America, in 3 to 5 days.
This strike, if prolonged, would tie up all of the Christmas junk from China, that is currently being packed and shipped, from southeast Asia.

while painful the issue remains: $36 trillion in debt, $300 trillion in unfunded contingent liabilities, massive trade deficits, money printing to buy the debt at auction etc.

Yep, which is why I generally looked at the U6 as a better indicator among those the government provided. During the last crash, where I lived in rural CA, the U3 was hovering near 19% at the worst of it. That was the non-farm number.

Also, pay close attention to the “words used”. That is “jobs created” and NOT related to “people employed”.
That “minus” 818,000 represents ANOTHER NEW Adjustment to the Statistics.
Ironically, the “professionals” running the US Government and their masters really do know the size of the disaster …. but the actual reporting is another matter.

First, to get the credit for the “growth”, knowing full well the “revision” will get as much attention as does a backpage correction in the NYT.
Second, and most important, the real numbers provide cover for the Fed to boost Harris by going stronger on rate cuts from now until Election Day.
