I thought Vance’s answer was great. He didn’t like Trump because he thought he would be a bad president. When Trump turned out to be a good president Vance reevaluated his opinion in light of new facts.
I listened to Dr Thomas Sowell the other day.
The man speaking with him in conversation read an old quote from Dr Sowell which was word for word what Vance said…that he didn’t like (then) Mr Trump for the office because he thought he would be a bad president.
Dr Sowell’s reaction to being reminded of what he said was surprise and a spontaneous burst of laughter. He had forgotten.
Asked why he changed his mind, this brilliant man said the same…President Trump’s record spoke for itself.
There have been many who have been quite vocal about their disdain for the best president this country has ever had. Distance and the intervening installed disaster which is Biden have only served to change hearts and minds. I admire the intelligence of those who upon regarding previous beliefs and finding them wrong step forward publicly to proclaim their errors. (See Justice Thomas and…again…Dr Sowell as concerns their previous communistic bents).
It’s early innings, but so far I’m liking the way Vance is handling the putrid and manipulative roaches which infest the MSM.

Years ago read an article that the heads of tv news anchors are larger in proportion to the rest of their bodies; something about that being a positive for the camera angles. So yes, it’s very possible her head is too big for the rest of her body’s proportions.

Senator Vance was absolutely flawless through the whole debate (well, it was a debate more than an interview.) He spoke plainly and clearly. He used every opportunity to discuss policy and ask the dems to discuss theirs. He gave proper deference to PDJT, and he was completely unruffled. He was frank in his criticism of Walz and Harris, but did not come across as mean.

I listened to a Victor David Hansen interview earlier today and he suggests that Trump prepare for the debate(s) in order to respond much like JD does. Precise, laser-focus on her policy positions and why his are better for America. I wonder if JD should have said that not only did P Trump not lie about not joining the military–but he has been in a fire zone recently and been wounded by 1 of 8 bullets directly fired at him. There is the usual mixed banter on X about this interview including mostly praise and the fake Trump supporters or weak supporters stating that JD’s “harsh answers and combative style” are turning off moderates and women.

Well I’m a woman and military training always makes a person shine no matter what their civilian job ends up being. I appreciate the focus, the economy of movement, the directness of thought . . . unfortunately these assets aren’t always appreciated laterally – jealousy I suppose. I appreciate them.

I had to turn it off. Vance once again handled the gotcha questions admirably, but shoot, she was just insufferable. “There’s no evidence that Kamala Harris has been running things.” Said with a stone cold expression. To which Vance replies, well, if she’s not, then who is?
“Let’s move on.” And she moves on to weird. Because, yeah, that’s so much more important than discussing who is actually running our country (into the ground, no less…).

God love JD Vance. He was bombarded with hostile questions from several
biased press anchors. He answered every question and was poised and spoke truth to these people.
To each of these persons he said it is shameful and disrespectful that Kamala Harris had not been interviewed. She and Joe Biden presumably have been in charge of our government for the past 3 1/2 years. In response to a statement from one of the female press that it is unfair to blame Kamala for inflation, border insecurity, etc. JD Vance said since Joe Biden seems to be incapable of running our government he assumed Kamala was in charge. If not Kamala who is running our government?
Since when does a Vice President running for POTUS EVER get off not being responsible for the administration policies he or she touted for almost 4 years?
I haven’t listened to these interviews yet but I heard him take questions from propagandists the other day.
He used the single most effective phrase to start his response
“Well Amy, I entirely reject the premise of your question….”

One thing I like about how JD speaks during interviews is he moves quickly from sentence to sentence and he doesn’t leave any gaps for the interviewer to step in. 🙂 I’m sure it’s intentional on his part and it’s great. So the interviewer has to talk over him which we all perceive as being rude. I’m really pleased with his interview performances and he’ll probably get even better over the course of the next few months.
That’s what AOC does a lot but it is maddening even when she stands corrected by facts big time that she jumps to the next agenda item as if she doesn’t even hear the responder.

I used to like J.D. Vance, and even celebrated when he was picked. Then he started blaming the attempt on Trump’s life on Iran, in concert with the neocons. Now, I’m not sure if I can trust him.
On one hand, Don Jr. and Tucker Carlson really like Vance and appear to have played major roles in his selection. And I don’t have any reason to doubt their loyalty to the America First movement. But on the other hand, Don Jr. and Tucker are also human beings, and thus can never be truly immune to deception. Could it be that Vance is just that good at pretending to be America First?
What do you think about these interviews? I just finished watching the first one and he did an excellent job defending Trump, Trump’s policies, and Trump’s first term performance. And it didn’t seem at all, at all, like he was pretending.
I refuse to fully trust any politician who is onboard the “Iran tried to assassinate Trump” bandwagon. The fact that Vance jumped onboard is a major red flag, IMHO. Either he has poor judgment, or he is a closet neocon.

It’s refreshing to finally see someone else defend Trump with vigor. Trump has had so few people who are good at dealing with the media. He always has to defend himself.
Im so glad he got to take the weekend off and let Vance play the part of the pit bull. Vance comes across as being very polite and good natured even while he is defending Trump and attacking Harris/Walz. He is clearly smarter than the average reporters interviewing him too which they don’t know how to handle.
