Dois Destinos by Dilermando Reis is by far my favorite piece from this concert, and I personally rank it near or at the top of all classical guitar pieces you have posted in many months. The beautiful melody/theme that has so many luxurious chord transitions – and that Mr. Cerkovnik executes flawlessly – is one of most appealing and tuneful arrangements for classical guitar that I’ve heard in a long time.
Interestingly, the second Dilermando Reis piece – Se Ela Perguntar – that Cerkovnik played in this concert was not nearly as intricate as the prior, although I enjoyed its definitely Latin-themed melody that doesn’t disappoint.
Cerkovnik has a seemingly effortless style – accuracy along with a very notable attention to the contrasting dynamics in several of these pieces.

If it is possible, I know it may not be, try to get as much vitamin C into him as possible. even intravenously . If you have sympathetic doctor willing to do it. Vit C certainly will not hurt him.. Tell the Doc to use Dr Linus Pauling’s recommendation for intravenous, I think it is as high as 25,000 units a day but verify that..
Also, 5000, even more for the very sick, such as maybe 75oo units of Vitamin D3 a day, and 50 units of Chelated Zinc. ( fights viruses).even more for the very sick person. N.A.C is supposed to ease lung problems. I read the dose is usually 500-600 mg in a capsule twice a day.

Pneumonia can be more effectively and quickly treated with nebulizing a 1% solution of hydrogen peroxide 3x/day for 10 minutes. Standard peroxide from the drug store is 3%, so mix 1 part peroxide with 2 parts distilled water.
There is a slight burn feeling, but not even as much as a scotch and soda.

Yes, take Vitamin C, zinc, Vitamin D, NAC (n- acetyl cysteine), and I would add Lysine which is a potent anti-viral. These are all over the counter.
I love the suggestion to nebulize with diluted peroxide. I use food grade, but that is tough to find. There are little hand held, battery operated nebulizers available – very inexpensive and very effective. You may have to dilute it with distilled water enough that it doesn’t irritate your dad’s throat.
Hopefully he’s getting prednisone, albuterol, and azithromycin from his MDs.
I buy prescription meds in bulk from overseas, no RX required. I know it’s a bit risky, but that’s where 90% of our prescriptions come from anyway. I’m able to help out my family and friends when they most need it. Waiting to get in with a doc or get the meds you need can take too long. And, many doctors are reluctant to write for certain drugs, like steroids.

-So until today the Intel was of a multi-fronts missile and drone attack from Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq will happen in 24-48 hours. Now there is new Intel that the Leader of Iran wanted to get more information about the Mossad spies and some 20 people were arrested in Iran, from employees in the resort to Iranian Intelligence Officers. The Iranians continue with psychological war and we are seeing more videos with large missiles all going to Israel. Now a major British paper said that they got knowledge that they delayed the attack for some nine more days to about the 12th. The 12th is the most significant mourning day of the Jewish religion. It is called “The 9th of Av” (“Av” is one of the months of the Jewish calendar),
This is a date of many disasters for Jews. On this date the first temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians and the second temple by the Romans. It’s the saddest day in the calendar. We also mourn the expulsion from Israel and from Spain and England and the Holocaust. Oddly enough Israel withdrew from Gaza and unrooted the Jewish settlements from Gaza on this date too. So the rumor now is that they want to attack on this date.
Obviously they want to keep Israel on standby for longer.
The added time has advantages and disadvantages. A longer time gives them enough time to prepare and aim massive number of precision missiles. It causes stress in Israel and interruption to flights and normal life. The plus is that Israel has enough time to pressure against their intentions and let them know what will be the consequences for them.
The bottom line is that to a large degree they can decide if they want an all out war or not. If we get too many casualties it will be a full war. Israel will not absorb mass casualties without a full war in return. Also enough time to organize preemptive strike.

-On another note, 22 Arab countries got 2 medals in the Olympics. Israel already got 6 medals. One gold a few silver, etc…. Small Israel with some 9 million people.

Correction: I omitted that it was Iran that has close to 88 million people and a GDP of 365 billions in other references 400 billions. American leaks to show Bibi as an obstacle to a hostage/ surrender deal. Bibi is determined that the war will continue till Hamas is no longer a factor. Also insisting that the first phase will have a maximum number of live Israelis released. Hamas is trying to minimize it to less than 30. They trying to add a clause that the second phase will commit Israel to an endless cease fire while negotiating the other hostages. Bibi want 30 Israelis or more released in first phase (women and injured) and no withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor (The Gaza/Egypt area from which Hamas smuggles munitions and weapons). Bibi also insists on holding our positions that divide Gaza between North and South in a way that we prevent some of the return of Hamas to the North.
Biden and Hamas want Israel to agree to everything and let Hamas survive and be back to power. Biden wants on his resume that he got the hostages back and stopped the war. It’s good for the elections. Nothing to do with what is right or wrong. Of course the survival of Hamas and its rebuilding is not acceptable for Israel.

If they had it they would be using it to deter the world and threaten. But it’s not 100% certain. Mossad would likely know. Decades of Mossad work in that area.
What about these reports of electromagnetic bombs?
Electro magnetic bombs are of two kinds. Usually it’s a nuclear explosion in high atmosphere. They don’t have it. There are other kinds that are not so bad. Probably no. But Israel has both nukes and EMP bombs and other things that are not published. The Iranians have a lot more to worry about. An EMP on Israel may justify wiping Teheran off the map. I don’t think so. Israel have hundreds of nukes and can deploy it in four ways, Submarines, Jet fighters, Missiles, suitcases. There is a lot of Iranian psychological warfare now. They are tying to spread misinformation about how dangerous they are. They are a “tiger of paper”. Their tanks and jets are old and poor. They do have a large arsenal of missiles and drones. They couldn’t win against Iraq for more than a decade and the US took Iraq in a week. We need to be vigilant but not afraid. Yes they can cause a mass casualty situation but it will not be worth it for them.
Iran is also weak politically and a spark can cause a revolution. Israel may spark that revolution. Their oil fields are easy targets for Israel. Their missile defense is weak. Their leaders could also be taken out. They deserve the worst for their actions against Israel that has no beef with the Iranians and no border or hate.
The conspicuous ease with which Mossad can conduct operations in even the most protected areas must send a compelling message to the rulers of that country.

I truly love your prayers. And, I’m going to ask you for one.
You inquired last night about Lloyd’s health. To be honest, he has taken a gigantic u-turn for the worse. His back pain is as bad or even worse than prior to surgery. The ability to walk is only for very short distances, and balance has worsened. He has fallen twice in 24 hours. It is difficult for me to lift him as he is easily twice my size.
He had an MRI done this week which was problematic, so it’s back to the neurosurgeon Tuesday. We’re doing our best to remain optimistic, but it isn’t always easy.
So…..a special super- duper JWoo prayer would be most appreciated. ❤️ 💖 ❣️

Corny, my apologies for seeing this so late. I didn’t have chance earlier to make it all the way through the thread.
Do you think scar tissue from the surgery may be causing some of these issues, especially if it may be pressing against other nerves in the area? Or maybe bone spurs that could be forming in the healing areas?
I’m in no way a medical person, but I just think of the timing of this in relation to surgery and thus pull at straws.
My other thought is did they stir something within, while they were in there, and thus his pain has deepened. Is it the same kind of pain? I hesitate to say… that I had a friend who underwent cosmetic surgery… gastric bypass and the surgery disturbed some cancerous cells and within six months she had full blown stage 4 peritoneal cancer and 19 tumors.
Now… I’m not intending that to be scary.. I’m intending that to request that maybe his blood panel be done again to see if he is fighting any infections? Early detection can be a lifesaver and I would be dog gone sure nothing else is going on in there!!!
I will certainly pray for Lloyd alongside our friends. It is my honor to seek our Lord’s Counsel and Provision.
Most Righteous and Holy God, our Father, what a strong and amazing man You have made for our sweet friend. We thank You for him.
Father God, You are aware of his hurting and only You currently know the source and the solution. Would You instill that wisdom in Lloyd’s doctors and I ask that they would make haste to find the source? I pray it a small nuisance that is easily remedied and that his strength, balance, and surefootedness would return.
I pray a solution to his pain, so that he may sleep, rest, walk, and work comfortably.
Touch his body, Father, and touch Corny’s mind to give her a sense of peace and confidence that You have her and Lloyd’s best interests in mind always.
Give Corny some help over these days, maybe a surprise visit from their son, to give her aide to tend to Lloyd so that she herself doesn’t become a patient too.

You know that we both worked in the OR: it’s actually where we met.
One of the drawbacks to that job is being exposed to the various complications that can and do occur. I’ve done an awful lot of pre-op education with patients. The ones who made me nervous were loathe to hear the risks inherent in any surgery. The major risk is of course, death. It really doesn’t matter how small the odds of a complication are, if it happens to you its 100%.
Hope that camping trip is all that you imagine, and you and Savannah enjoy every moment.

Biography: Daniel Hale Williams was an American surgeon best remembered for performing one of the world’s first successful open-heart surgeries. He pursued a career in medicine at a time when opportunities were limited for African Americans and earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical College in 1883.
Recognizing the lack of hospital access for African American residents in Chicago, Williams founded Provident Hospital and Training School in 1891, the first non-segregated hospital in the United States, which also provided nursing opportunities for African American women.
In 1893, Williams gained recognition when he successfully performed one of the first documented pericardium surgeries to repair a wound, which marked a milestone in the evolution of open-heart surgery. The patient, James Cornish, had been stabbed in the chest and was treated by Williams, who opened his chest and repaired the wounded heart muscle. Remarkably, Cornish recovered completely within fifty-one days.
Williams also co-founded the National Medical Association in 1895, a professional organization for African American medical practitioners, as the American Medical Association did not admit African American members at the time. Throughout his career, Williams was an advocate for the presence and recognition of African Americans within the medical field.

Good morning all.
Yesterday was something. The kids that are our neighbors to our south had a big hunk of a big Red Maple come down. The tree was close to the SW corner of the house but the way it fell it just missed the house. Their bedroom and the bedroom of the two little girls is on the south end where that tree was. They were very lucky.
The part the split fell in Tod’s yard the next neighbor to the south. Tod is the roofing supervisor for the company that I had do the Sun room and attached garage additions to my house. I suggested to them they talk to Tod because Tod burns wood to heat his house and they may be able to make a deal with him to cut it all up as long as he could take the wood.
The deal was made but Tod got to cutting up the part that was split off but still attached to the tree he saw the rest of the tree that still standing was unstable and told them that they needed to get a tree service contractor to take down the rest of the tree and he would take that wood also once it down on the ground.
A tree service came and took all of it down except left a de branched stump about 10′ high with the partially still attached split of section attached.
Tod, with some help of his son and grandson, got all the big stuff on the ground cut and then used a choker strap to drag and his pickup truck to drag the bundles of the limbs back to the back of his lot where his fire ring was. There were a lot of limbs.
I had given that steel burn ring to Tod last fall. I had it fabricated out of rolled 7 gauge steel at my families business. It is 7′ in diameter and 18″ high. Tod had put down sand in an area about 15′ in diameter as a base to put the burn ring on.
Steve and I saw that Tod had bitten off more than he could chew and that the neighbor he was doing the work for wasn’t helping. Friday night while watching the Sprint cars run on Flo TV in Steve’s barn we discussed the situation and decided to help. Steve felt that he had healed well enough from his 2nd knee replacement surgery that he could do the work. He told me he was making biscuits and gravy for breakfast the next morning and told me he would give me a call to come over to help he and Betty eat them. Steve make excellent Biscuits and Gravy.
So yesterday morning we ate a hardy breakfast we loaded up chainsaws and my nippers and jumped on the ATV and went over to Tods. Tod had been out earlier burning but had to do some running and wasn’t home. Betty came pout also. We went to it, cutting and carrying the small stuff with leaves to the fire pit to burn. Steve already knew that Tods wood burning furnace would take no more than an 18″ long piece and so was cutting the stuff large enough for Tod to use. I was using my nippers to cut the limbs off the suitable pieces and Betty was picking the stuff up and taking it to the burn ring.
Tod came home and came out with his pickup truck and started loading the wood suitable for his furnace on it and taking it up to the covered areas around his pole barn where he keeps his wood. He then came out and started cutting also.
We took multiple breaks. It was hot but we could work in the shade and had some breeze. Four hours later I could see Steve had had enough, even if he wouldn’t admit it. We had it down to the point where Tod could easily finish it up and Steve and Betty had planned to mow and needed to get started on that. So I pretended I had had enough. That got Steve to quit also.
Tod was very thankful. He had the last of it done and even ran his lawn sweeper over the area to pick up the small stuff before the end of the day. There is a cornfield within 40′ of his burn ring and he was afraid that it would be drying out and turning brown before he got everything cut up and burned. He was also glad that now he can mow and that we got rid of those piles of branches before weeds had grown up around them.
He still had to deal with the big diameter stuff up by the stump of the tree, but he can handle that. It’s right next to where he stores his wood.
For things like that it feels a lot better to give than to receive.
Tree came down at my daughter’s house yesterday evening and took down the powerline to the house. They are okay although obviously no power.
Sounds like the surge took out some items that were powered up at the time. Too early to access total damage but house structurally ok and they’re fine.

When I got my inheritance after Dad passed, Sherry and I could have sold this place and bought a nice place down in Florida or along the Gulf coast or perhaps a new plat house that required on yard work. We never considered it and the neighbors we have is a big reason why. The other reasons most of my family lives here fairly close and we just Love our home and being able sit on our sun porch in the morning and look out across the fields.
So we have and are still putting some money in the house to get it exactly the way we want it and to live out our days here.
Yup. Moved up here from Florida 3 1/2 years ago. I will never leave.
Hubs had to stay in Florida for a year in order to train and help transition people in his company. He would come up every few months and one weekend he brought covid with him. Coincidentally the countertop for the kitchen was delivered. I had a 103 fever but after waiting 5 months for the countertop I just got on it and cut it down to size, 11feet, and muscled it into the kitchen. Ha. I did it. Cut the area out for the sink and did the plumbing.

have a huge garden and just getting into canning mode.
There is more to the story but I don’t want to toot my own horn too much.
The thing is… I’m 68 years old and I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I’m doing okay but it’s been a year since I found out and I’ll tell ya I was pissed off with God.
Finally have a lovely house a rocking garden, my sons are doing well,no debt and now cancer for the 4th time.
I think I’m learning how to grab God’s hand.

In the late morning the light that pours on my rear deck with my potted flowers and strawberries is ethereal,such a joy. And then when the sun is going down on the west side of the house, oh my sometimes it’s too intense. But I revel in it.

Having read some recent forum posts on prepping, including for nuclear encounters, I thought I’d post up an initial observation on training my thyroid with Lugol’s tincture.
What I’m doing is, since I filter my own drinking water (from well or creek), I’m initially putting two drops into each liter of water. I normally drink about 4 liters per day since I live in a cool moderate humidity environment near the beach.
After about a day, I’ve noted two things, particularly this morning. I seemed to be clearer headed when waking up and I just realized the typical age-related aches and pains didn’t seem as pronounced. It could be coincidental so I’ll track it but especially the clear-headedness is pronounced, even at 3:30am when I got up, a normal wakeup time historically.
Most folks buy potassium iodide pills for use in nuclear emergencies but I thought, hey, I’ll try the liquid version and see how it goes and journal the results. As someone who survived Covid unmedicated/untreated and is in otherwise good health for a senior, I figured it was worth an experiment.

The gapping hole in security and one actual evidenced shooter who gained entrance to that roof with a weapon is enough conspiracy.
CrewDog’s video goes through the ballistics of the shooting in a pretty convincing way. Cullen uses video from the day and sets up a ballistic model to show trajectory of the shots fired. He also is able to measure the “sound” of the shots. Worth listening to imo.
And the photographer having the unusual high speed lens that “coincidentally” captured the speeding bullet

lenses don’t have “speed”
it would be the shutter speed that would be high-speed
and if it was sufficiently high-speed, it would show a bullet, not the trail
I don’t know exactly how digital cameras work these days, but in the days of film, a video or film movie camera might yield one frame that showed that bullet trail while frames before and after didn’t .. each frame would have an exposure duration settable on the camera
if digital cameras work similarly (set it to auto and it records multiple digital frames at high interval speed), then again, this photo may have been the one frame that captured the image
but I’m no photography expert, just an amateur, and I checked out before the digital revolution

“wicked man” it is a distinction from humanity. Man is fallen and this world is men not all humanity.
”righteous in authority” we see Israel killing terrorists all over especially in Iran. Irans people will
benefit from those deaths. The people will see how righteousness is a better way. Most are oppressed, and already know.
Then there is America and the world. We know what it’s like to have the righteous in authority, it is what gave us our freedom and prosperity yet we champion the wicked man, in every facet of our society.
Righteousness is a mantle, and can be passed on or lost, we were never given a free pass only grace. Undeserving mercy.
When the righteous are in authority wickedness must be dealt with and judged accordingly. JUDGED! Israel is judging according to what is correct, right, righteous. We do it our God does it. God is much harsher, and will help a nation who turns their face to him for help ……..in repentance.
This is not a mass transformation but an individual accounting of oneself.
The frequency of our nation must rise to encounter a change in an upward direction. We are being depressed and bombarded by the media to lower our vibrations to a fatal level, it’s everywhere in social media. We create, we own what we are or we choose to allow this. All a choice.

Could my flora loving pals provide a little advice?
Hurricane Millie the Brave took out my gorgeous spider plant and it’s brother palm. This plant was inherited from my dear friend who passed away, as we used to care for her houseplants. This plant is at least 10 years old and gave many many spiderling offshoots.
Now, she’s been crushed. Flat as a pancake, or a wig in a rain storm.
What should I do? Should I cut the wilted leaves and take it down to the core to see if she will revitalize and not try to support leaves which may inevitably die? Or will she regain consciousness and stature and right herself again? What happens to these plants when trampled?
I’m sad about it, but can’t be mad. There was a dead housefly in proximity and I think Millie was protecting her turf. Except now both kittens think my spider plant is a tropical mattress to hop and play on and through.
Naughty little kitties.
There’s always the chance the roots were not damaged. Protect it from the cats, take off dead leaves as they do no one any good beyond compost. Or there’s always the internet for other suggestions. My suggestion is to put it (protected) in a corner somewhere, keep it sparsely watered, and give it a year before giving up on it. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Read carefully, there was something in there about trimming in stages so as not to shock the plant.

She’s got experience here in the same situation……with cats as the culprit. I recall that from when I still lived at home.

I recall more than one cat getting into her spider plants, and she nursed the plant back. Had not thought of that in decades.

I hide things from kitties behind a glass shower door.
We don’t have a glass shower door. We have curtains. Placed her in the garage for the moment. Gave her some Miracle Grow. Wherever we store her, she’ll be away from her sunlight. The kitties are all amongst the sunny places. Wish I could suspend the plant from somewhere. We have a cool beam that runs across my office and there’s a perch up there… but the Maine Coon knows how to get up there and it would take little for the kittens to learn his method of ascension. To them, putting the plant up there would just be a “challenge”. I can’t put her outside, because I’m fighting some invasive insect with my Nasturiums and I’ve already lost one of them this season. The bugs around this lake are madness.
Looks like root rot? No drainage.

The other day (Thursday), I shared a post with you about writing a letter to yourself from God. Writing down what comes to your mind and what God is wanting to say to each of you.
My letter, spoke a bit about joy… and finding it all around us, because our God Is Loving and adores us.

Daughter slept in a bit that morning, so breakfast turned into brunch around 11 AM. We purchase the jumbo eggs from the store because they’re only $0.25 more expensive, but they are so big and packed full of good protein. I pulled 5 eggs out to scramble them for brunch and not 1, not 2… but THREE of them were double yokers!! Five eggs…8 yolks. Crazy, productive little chickens.
I went out to harvest my pepper plant which is producing gang busters, and as I was gathering its fruit, a gentle little Praying Mantis peeped around the leaves at me. Smaller than this one appearing here and more green. I can’t explain these docile little creatures. They are fascinated by our cats and often our Timmy is met with these “little friends” that get on his level outside the glass. He’ll paw at them but in no way is he trying to get aggressive. He usually settles and they stare at each other for hours.
Later, I was gathering our camping gear and checking it out prior to our trip next weekend and I opened our garage door at twilight and a small baby frog, no bigger than a half dollar, joyfully hopped away. Our friend, Kristine, who passed away… loved frogs, especially tree frogs and I so hoped we would get a little family of 🐸 to our lake.
Well, here we go.
Then finally last night, I was leaving to pick up Savannah from work and found these two little families of duckies crossing the road. One set started across while I blocked the road with my car.. then they started to retreat again back in front of me. I got out… did my best quacking imitation and persuaded them across the road to our lake.
This morning, the little kitten girls were booted out of my bedroom about 3 AM as they were restless and wanted to play. This morning, Maine Coon and I wake and the Littles toddle over to meet Harry at the door and he gently kissed and cleaned each of his little charges. He used to despise them and now, he shepherds them as the best big brother ever.
I can’t tell you how much these moments of joy mean to me. And the love I have to write about them.
I pray blessings on you… that you too will find these small daily miracles to bring you laughter and joy. God Is truly marvelous and He Is the ultimate Giver of Gifts.
This is a second Praying Mantis greeting us this morning. The head tilts are an adorable riot!
