The kitties navigating “box world” made me laugh out loud.
Many decades ago, my mom dragged my dad to Disneyland and they fatefully went to the “It’s a Small World” exhibit. I thought he’d never stop “singing” It’s a Small World After All in a high falsetto
silly voice. He had a wonderful baritone voice, so it was really funny, and exceptionally annoying to Mom.
I saw the original exhibit at the 1964 World Fair in New York on a bus field trip from Jersey
I remember it being as annoying as it probably still is
I went to that World’s Fair In 1964 also. It was back in the day when it was safe for teenagers to take the train into NYC (from CT) and then the subway to Queens as I recall. We thought we were so cool!

Later, he warned us not to ride the train because the bridges were so unsafe. He was brought up on charges for warning the powers that be, and actually had a trial. In the midst of that trial, the I-95 bridge in Greenwich CT collapsed spilling cars into the river below and killing people. They decided to drop the charges against Dad and his crew, and fix the problems – interestingly, the same problems that caused the I-95 collapse.

-We are bracing for a massive attack in the next 24-48 hours. The US is mobilizing more forces to the area. The Iranians are using a lot of psychological warfare with videos and images of massive destruction in Israel with Hebrew terrorizing threats.
The US is organizing a coalition of nations to help countering the attacks like the last one in Apr. Then whatever the US with its allies couldn’t intercept Israel did. It’s questionable if there is enough time for the allies to prepare.
-Israel destroyed an airport in Syria that is used as a base for Hezbollah, probably had munitions too.
-Israeli hacker group managed to take down power plants in Iran. They are saying that soon there will be a lot more to be seen, they “will teach Iran with who they are dealing”.
Israeli cyber is top notch.
-Israel killed about 30 terrorists in Rafah Gaza in the past few days. This kind of news is happening every couple of days. Hamas is close to a break point which may encourage them for a deal.

Hello Monti … terribly hot here in the South. But it’s the humidity that makes it miserable.
But that’s the way summer has always been here.
Almost entire month of July was actually pleasant- mid-80s and not humid.

Hotter than hades here too. And, with it being monsoon season, quite humid. Storms have taken out power several times this week, and, unfortunately, crashed a massive limb from a mesquite onto our front walk. Took out some roses and damaged our magnolia tree, but……..no people or animals were hurt. Thank goodness!
So, your husband is doing the only thing you can do – get out there really early. We’re out with chain saws removing that limb, but it’s already steaming at 10:00.
Other good news though – the peaches are finally ripening. Yay! Peach crumble on the way! 🍑 🍑 🍑

Burros like darn near everything! And they have no governor on how much they eat. So, you have to be really careful. Too much sugar can cause them to founder, which can be life threatening. We had our Lordy founder one year and were in danger of losing him. 😢 Learned a hard lesson.
We have such a bountiful year with fruit. First apricots, now peaches and figs. I would so love to share with all you wonderful people.
Chain saws can be a little intimidating- and rightly so. Bless your husband and son for teaching that sweet little boy how to use one properly. Thank heaven for real dads!

I got a new laptop and I’m wondering if someone can advise if there is a free virus protection that I can download.
Also a free option for something similar to Microsoft Word and Excel. But not Microsoft if possible. In fact, I’d just be happy with a simple option to record and save some notes.
I only really got the computer so I can keep my personal paperwork records and similar stuff.

AVG virus protection is free … they will tell you its expiring from time to time to get you to buy it … it is still free tho just gotta ignore their scare tactics to get your cash. I been using it on windows for a decade +.

Good morning rah. I think Brave has a VPN but I don’t know if it’s just for their browser. Check on your Brave settings. We use AVG, the paid subscription version. I can’t use their VPN as it blocks Brave. I got a new computer not long ago and I am hating Windows 11 and Microsoft. All I wanted was to get Word but I am not paying for Office 360 just for Word. I get so irritated with all the apps I turn it off and it just sits there. Too much jumping thru hoops to accomplish one thing.

When you take photo with phone or iPad, it automatically saves in a folder “Photos.”
I go to postimages.org.
and do not have an account there.
In middle page, the first block says:
“Do not resize my image.”
Click and scroll to:
640 x 480 for message boards. Click it.
Second block says:
“No expiration.”
I leave it like that.
Third block says:
“Choose images.”
Click there.
Another box appears asking where to get photo.
I click on “photo library.”
That goes to my entire photo storehouse.
Locate photo to use and click it.
A blue check mark then appears on photo.
Go to top right corner of box.
Click blue ADD button.
The image should appear on the top left of box.
Then, go to second menu box:
“Direct link.”
Click on entire line to copy all the info.
(The last three letters must be jpg, or jpeg, or png.
Nothing else will work)
Then go to CTH reply box with your copied info.
Click “paste.”
Be sure to hit the space button (“enter” or “return”)
three times above the pasted link, and, AFTER the pasted link.

Soazburrolady, I mainly use Imgur.com for personal pix that I want to post in a CTH Reply box.
After uploading a pix, I click on it from the array of My Images that I’ve uploaded to Imgur, and choose the “Direct Link” from the list of links (to that image) that are provided for various purposes.
You want to make sure that you only upload images that end with .jpg If you have a personal image of a different file-type, you must first convert it to a .jpg or .png before you upload it to Imgur so that it displays in CTH. How you convert it depends on what type it is originally, and what image editing apps you have on your computer. There are too many permutations of those choices for me to guess which ones you have & use.

Years ago, a friend of mine called and wanted to know if we would take a little abused kitten sight unseen. Well, duh. Beverly said she could never tell me from where he came, because she feared I might take some sort of action against the cretins who had him.
He arrived tiny, filthy, and covered in red magic marker. We named him, Maggie, at first because his ” accouterments” were not developed properly. After the vet visit, Maggie became McGee – then Baby McGee when he failed to grow much larger. An xray showed only one kidney present and the other damaged from the abuse he had sustained. The sweetest vet said he probably wouldn’t live beyond 6 months if that! I was crushed: had to stop on the way home because I couldn’t see through the tears. Baby McGee followed me everywhere and sat in my lap whenever I wasn’t standing.
Well, he lived 5 good years before he passed from kidney failure. I’ll post a pic when I can.
God Bless those folks for giving that little horse a chance at a great life. 🙏
God blessed me with a couple acres about a mile or so out of town. I have spent the last 40 some years rescuing abandoned critters. Dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, some goats, a milk cow. I have cared for hundreds of critters.
Each and every one is special in their own way. Now I am down to just chickens, ducks and cats. I miss having dogs but can’t afford them – unless they show up or are abandoned where I can find them.
I have a fabulous vet, a friend after so many years, who only charges me his actual costs which makes it affordable for me.
Rescuing critters and watching them flourish gives me a great sense of satisfaction. Plus it gives me a reason to get up and going every day.
I enjoy reading your posts about your critters, their trials and tribulations (and your trials and tribulations, too).
As do I reading your posts, Patty. We will never have nice cars, clothes, vacations, etc, but literally nothing makes my heart sing like seeing an abandoned distraught sweet animal become confident (not scared), healthy (not sick and emaciated), and loving (not wary).
Boy, are vet care, farriers, and food and supplies expensive! Woo Doggies!
We can only do what we can. Our grandoggies and grandkitties have needed some help as of late, so rather than donate to animal organizations as we did in the past, we help provide for them. The kids and grandkids have animal nut disease too – no cure! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

We are so fortunate that we can access a mountain just east of us in a matter of minutes. When, we first moved here, being so enthralled with the wildlife, I exited our vehicle to photograph a beautiful mountain lion, resting under a scrub bush. Unfortunately, I hadn’t noticed she had 2 cubs nearby. Holy $*#!
She leapt toward me growling and I leapt back into the truck, never to repeat that mistake! 🦁

So there I wuz (precursor to a story in the South)…..coming home before daylight when working night shift and living in a duplex.
We couldn’t have pets there and I was tickled to see a cat under the lights of a neighbor’s detached garage as I was about to go into our place and I thought “hey, I can pet that cat and make a friend!”.
So I slowly walk across the yard softly calling “heeeeere kitty, kitty, kitty!” over and over again.
To my surprise, the cat didn’t come toward me, which I thought was odd. They always do.
So I kept softly calling “heeeeeere kitty, kitty, kitty” as I walked closer and noticed the next odd thing about that cat.
It just moved……funny, for a cat.
So another round of “heeeeeere kitty, kitty, kitty” and more walking got me closer…..
And the cat turned in the floodlight in such a way that I could see it was a black and white cat.

Dr tried to force that on husband for years before articles came out about it. Had to search research papers. Many seniors fall and become permanently injured from the fall because it deletes your muscles not your fat when you are older. Many other nightmare possibilities with this as well. Every appointment I would tell Dr new reason we refused this. Once again it really sucks to have to trust someone who doesn’t have your best interests in mind.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

2024 election – We’re really in trouble folks. Rona McDaniels and the RNC screwed us. Lara Trump can’t fix things because no time is left.

I can see why the Chocolate Muffin mixes have been discontinued, due to Build Back Soviet, the ingredients are to expensive & some hard to get. The companies must have realized that charging $10+ for a box of mix is too expensive for most people.
I just made Ghiradelli Chocolate Muffins using their recipe, they came out good, but expensive. I could have added Chocolate Chips, but I wanted to follow the directions properly. If any of my Treeper friends here have any homemade Chocolate Muffin recipes they would not mind sharing……………………….

My deepest appreciation. As Bet & others here know, I’m a big muffins,sconces, with a couple of cups of coffee, breakfast person.
All the Chocolate muffin mixes are gone, but I have been buying Manischewitz Honey/Coffee/Chocolate cake mixes.
I am about 90% certain I just saw a Eastern Kingbird flying away from my neighbors Tulip Tree which seems to attract allot of birds, especially the resident flock of fledgling Bluebirds. First one I have seen as a “yardbird”. I had one nest in my backyard neighbors Sycamore tree where the Baltimore Orioles annually nested long ago where I used to live. They are Flycatcher-ish. Beautiful birds

Both beauties. I have a resident pair of Phoebes 2 doors down the street and they hang in my front & backyard sometimes. One was eating some of my Arrowood Viburnum berries a few weeks ago, and I had a beautiful Great Crested Flycatcher visit my backyard a few months back, the long tail was the give away. I am anxiously awaiting September, which should start bringing migrants in. Such a fun season to enjoy the weather, fall colors, and of course the fall migration. Ty for the beautiful pics and post.

Ty cobra, SC near NC. Many of the trees are similar to Northern NJ, but western NC is even more so, with the added climate. Higher elevation in NC. Western NC is gorgeous. I’d like to move there.
