In reading the responses about “the emissary” post, I am reminded why our nation is in this mess, and the scale of trying to get people to fathom the depth of our national problems.
If you are one of the few voices who comprehend who and what an “emissary” is, as well as how they are needed, then you will understand why any further posts of mine on the 2025 topic are going to be password protected.
Head’s up. In order for the comment section to be of value to me, it needs to be an intellectual discussion by smart people who understand politics. I am going to apply the password for all future threads on the 2025 topic and then I can more effectively use the blacklist banner for the govt-aligned voices who try to hijack and steer the conversation.
My thoughts and advice on the subject matter are the result of thousands and thousands of hours work, specifically categorizing every granular issue in DC and how it functions amid a corrupt and weaponized silo system. I don’t pretend.
95% of the opinion you are reading about presidential positions, qualifications and expectations are based on people who hold pretenses, intentionally or, in many cases, accidentally, because they just don’t know better. Some people think DC corruption is really, really bad. Trust me, it’s worse than that.
My thoughts on staffing, roles and responsibilities are from a pragmatic place of what can reasonably be expected to be achieved. CTH has never joined this nonsensical “trusty-planner” mindset. There is no plan. There never was a plan. There is one guy, Donald Trump, trying to enact policies to the benefit of the American people. Every democrat and every republican want him to fail.

On the Melania topic. Those who have been paying close attention, very close attention, will note you should not expect to see as much of Mrs Trump in the second term. By all outward appearances she’s done with American politics and keeping Barron out of that life is her priority. Melania Trump will fulfill the role of First Lady, and she will do it better than any other, but that’s it.
I suspect in 2025 and beyond, official duties and responsibilities is where the schedule ends for First Lady Melania Trump. She showed up to the RNC Convention and carried out that same role/responsibility. Melania kept Baron away from the convention for the same purpose. She’ll continue the same standard after President Trump wins in November.
Donald Trump Jr loves American politics and will joyfully bring his family and children into it. This puts Melania and DJT Jr at opposite ends of the issue. Remember that. DJT Jr has aspirations. Also, remember that.
The next “2025-Term 2” post will hit on the very important role of the National Security Advisor (NSA). That post will be password protected because the comments section needs to be intellectual discussion about the ramifications of the presentation. [Yes, when you see the scale of the problem you are part of the very select 3% group and you prepare your life accordingly.]
The NSA position is critical. The Intelligence Community will lie to President Trump.
The Nat Sec Advisor intercepts the lies, evaluates the issue to find the small granules of truth; then presents truthful options to President Trump. The Nat Sec advisor must know the silo system like the back of his hand. He must know every detail about how it operates, and he must be willing to fight against the AG, DoS, FBI and CIA.
The NatSec Advisor must be strategic, smart and have EXCEPTIONAL judgement. It would also be beneficial if the The NatSec Advisor had an external compartmented financial resource system – meaning, he was (real world) independently wealthy of DC and ambivalent to the financial interests of the MAGA grifting community.
The NatSec Advisor needs as few attack vectors as possible. If the NSA is vulnerable, he’s useless.
The traits of impenetrable judgement, stability, brutal honesty and understanding, disqualify names like Patel, Bannon, Flynn, Navarro et al and 95% of the people previously presented. Now you see the problem. Michael Flynn and Kash Patel might be good on the National Security Council, which is headed by the NatSec Advisor, but in the primary role, no way; too risky. more later…
I am going to start giving honest examples of recent history and reminders of human-trait issues that will make people uncomfortable. I don’t care. The truth is ambivalent about feelings. We need results.
This is why I read more than I comment, to improve my perspective, to be as informed as possible about all the angles of the prism that comprise the political debacle that has been in place for decades, and will not improve without a serious application of bleach, to get rid of the mold. I completely agree DJT Jr. has aspirations of his own, and that was solidified when he tossed his then wife aside for Newsoms ex and everyone knew then she had her own agenda. The NSA will lie to President Trump? When did they ever tell him the truth? If I happened to be standing beside him having just come in and know that it is noon and they told him that the sun was shining, I would be forced to go outside and check for myself. The Intelligence agencies have pretty much always been corrupt but got massive steroid injections when Obama went in and Holder took over a lot of it. They are both liars who hate the country and everything that she stands for, thus their reason to destroy it and us.

I saw the lists and quit reading the comments. I don’t know DC other than what I see, and read, and that does not give me the qualifications to make recommendation. I like some, for example, from my perspective, there’s been no better “Emissary” than Steve Bannon, but whether you disagree or not, he’s better in the role he has when he gets out of the gulag. I’m puzzled by a no on General Flynn, and there seems to be some deep seeded distrust for Kash. I look forward to your future posts as I’m sure you will address these and others when you discuss human-traits.

While there is certainly a large percentage, I don’t agree that the majority of people are uneducable, they just haven’t been exposed to anything other than MSM.

For my part and purposes, I don’t need to invest my cognitive resources in the analysis of the structural factors and personnel best suited to address it in terms of temperament and aptitude. I have the humility to say that I could not meaningfully contribute to that discussion, and the time it would take to get up to speed competes with other demands. I trust Sundance and the Treepers who have experience and have engaged in sustained analysis and study of this issue. It is kind of a corollary to the consent of the governed. But in this sense, I willingly defer to Sundance and other Treepers’ analysis of these issues. I hope, however, that the Trump campaign is taking note. I think for those outside of that group like me and probably Mary, we should do what we can given our situation to advance the objectives of the broad MAGA movement in bring United States back to the core Liberal principles undergirding its founding.

I don’t think it’s condescension or the smearing of those who disagree. On a daily basis we’re bombarded with information, and many of those providing it present themselves as experts. And we believe they are, but many aren’t. How do we know the difference? We don’t. There are others, like a Sundance who do. He’s in it enough to have the dirt under his nails. He goes where we can’t, listens where we’re not able to. I don’t think it’s elitist for him to want some discernment of discussion. I think what he’s talking about goes beyond comments to “listen and learn and enlightenment”. I can’t speak for him, but that’s my take. I know enough to know I’m out of my depth.

It appears to me that you have two complaints. One, password protection. Two, choice of “emissaries”. The password is readily available to you above. The choice of emissaries is beyond our control. Relax.
Please excuse my presumption, but your saddening stems from the sorry state of uneducation (mis/diseducation) of such a large perentage of the population. Not just America’s population, but we (collectively) have been the target of unadulterated education-system-based propaganda since at least 1990-ish (and then B. Clinton), and the ugliness of that propagandized population has reached a peak that is horrid to look at.
The ignorance of the masses (some of it purposeful, much of it not) is beyond incredible. That is the sadness that we all endure. If it were not so, PDJT would be retiring from public office in Jan 2025 instead of seeking the beginning of his second term.
There is an aspect to all of this that I think is being missed, or, better expressed, unaccounted for as the wagons circle.
There are other centroids of recognition and planning going on domestically and internationally. Without venturing into details, I hired a financial advisor a couple years ago for management purposes. These people were wall street types who have relocated outside the US and execute their trades globally – outside the reach of the US gov’t. This group, sort of an emergent adaptive behavioral response IMO, recently sent notice that they have created an internal group of “experts” cultivated from their clientele, who plan on meeting periodically in countries outside the US, to position the members for financial “survival” as they put it. They are very focused, from an international perspective, on macro economic trends and the bigger sweep of global geopolitics. There are intersections with their thinking and their long-term strategies though not nearly as US focused as Sundance and many CTH folks on attacking the problem here, at home, in our backyard. They view the US as a sinking ship.
The point? I understand where Sundance is headed with his thinking, desperate times require thoughtful measures – twisting the old saw somewhat. My observation is that there has to be other such focused, if nascent, adaptive behaviors taking shape. Knowing who these groups are and forging some sort of communications links can’t help but function as a force multiplier. At the very least, many at CTH must recognize that it takes a developed sense of mind to understand the structural relationships and longer-term forces (e.g., financial, economic, cultural) that are shaping the future. Allies matter when it comes to execution.
I don’t hold this bigger picture – this situational awareness. I’m extrapolating. But I can’t help but think that while moving forward, collaborating (or at least coordinating) with natural allies is not a self-defeating proposition.
A crude way of putting it that may be off-setting for some: intelligence matters no matter which side of the fence one sits on.
Of course, and that is why the Uniparty has destroyed the education system. You can’t develop and grow someone’s intellect because then they may oppose those who aim to destroy because they are intelligent and see the strings.
Intelligence is a measure of one’s ability to absorb education. Other than that, they are completely unrelated.
Intelligence and education go hand in hand. Without intellect one cannot learn. Keep telling yourself they are unrelated. Some people are literally stupid and have no intellect what so ever. We all have met them; they have no ability to learn.

His opinion is that it takes intelligence to have a conversation regarding complex systems and things. And I agree with that ascertion.
Intelligence comes in many forms, many. As Thomas Sewell points out, man either has a constrained or unconstrained vision of mankind. Most people flow one way over the other but most have aspects of both. In extreme cases man will have a 100% view in either direction. It’s important to understand these two distinct visions of man; it’s that understanding that allows one to see strings and understand the goals behind the people with those visions. Both can be evil and both can be good- it takes intelligence and awareness to see the slight variations.

What the heck is Sundance doing here? In part, he is looking for CTH feedback that performs precisely the same function – more information gathering. You can’t “select”or recommend staffing candidates without the over-arching construct of the barriers to be overcome and intelligence, call it metadata if that makes one more comfortable, on the candidates. You can’t make good decisions without good information in context.
This is all decision-making 101.

Conversation needs to be had by people who have a more unconsrained vision and those with a constrained vision. Our Founding Fathers were comprised of men with both; it is why the Constitution was written the it was written.

Here’s what worries me.
There is a definite instinct to label folks as trolls, dividers, etc. Sometimes that is merited. Sometimes it completely lacks any substance – because most have no idea what the personal histories and contexts are for posters.
I repeat this tirelessly: this site is terrific for the big picture thinking and detailed analysis that Sundance brings to the table. There are individual posters who are thoughtful, still others who are actually doing something. I am not a perfect fit here, but I have to make my own decisions on who I think are allies in spirit and share common goals.
You will not win this war if you personally operate to shut down potential allies (and everything that implies – including risk). Win the war first.

It seems that you are starting to assume that President Trump will be allowed to win & take office. I am not so sure. The steal will be strong. Assassination is not off the table. With the last attempt, the best case scenario is that the government willfully created a conducive environment for an attempt. It is seeming like less and less that it was best case. I continue my preparations for a long, cold winter.
I failed to believe the Las Vegas odds predictions last election, when they favored Biden to win. They have now gone from Trump leading to evenly tied. This means that Vegas believes that the fix is in and will work.

First of all Trump needs to get elected and if election fraud is not stopped he won’t be. 2nd point the type of person Trump needs to fill this position will not be out in the public eye. Lastly this is Trump’s decision to make because he has to trust him/her implicitly. CTH readers can’t make this decision for him.
You are correct the 2020 election was stolen successfully so there is no reason to believe 2024 will not be stolen too. That is why the democrats quickly fell in behind such a weak candidate. It doesn’t matter who is running on the democrat ticket as long as they follow orders from whoever is running the democrat party. If we don’t focus on election fraud and stop it before the election everything else will be a wasted effort. So far I have not seen near enough effort on the part of the republicans to stop election fraud to ensure we will have a honest election.

I think finding the right people to fill administration position’s is one thing, but getting them approved by Congress is a different ballgame.

Yes, advise and consent can be a problem unless the strategy is: 1)short term appointees or 2) appointments done while in recess.
On second thought an Emissary position may not have to go through the Senate confirmation process and that position will be used to fend off those who can get through that process.
Tom, your point is not wrong- getting Congress to approve is a different ball game. However, SCOTUS validating the Constitituion’s position, that the President is the Executive Branch is important; it should not have taken SCOTUS to affirm this but sadly, it did.
That affirmation changes the appointment game. It does as long as the President understands this fact. Yes, Congress has to approve but conversely the President can fire anyone they do not want in that position regardless of Congress trying to force someone on them.
Why is this important? Because then the President can appoint interim people, with the same authorities and powers- the President is the Executive as SCOTUS affirmed. It behooves Congress to approve the people the President wants to have appointed…..Congress’s role, if this affirmation is applied correctly, is purely to highlight any disqualifying aspects of the appointed.

FDR had his “kitchen cabinet,” an informal group of advisors whom he trusted, not subject to Congressional approval.
Can be a useful way to get things done.
Post Congressionally approved figure heads as the titular heads of government agencies, place your own trusted people in the posts which do NOT require Congressional approval but that actually control the operations of their particular agencies, and use your own, very trusted people to be your unofficial advisors.

The emissary is a new concept that sundance has introduced because he understands (and thankfully explains to us) the silos in the swamp.
I’m pretty sure that’s why you haven’t heard of it before. Just sayin’.
There are probably analogous positions already existing in many organizations, but it seems to me that none of them exactly matches this new concept.
Consider the role of Harry Hopkins during the WWII FDR administration before you think the “Emissary ” role is a new idea. The trusted personal relationship allowed Hopkins to function in exactly the manner described. The lack of Senate approval, and the “plausible deniability” aspect of face to face communication on key strategic issues by the “Emissary” has great value.
President Trump came into office in 2016 after a lifetime of experience dealing with true friends and fake friends. While I suppose he knew everyone has an angle, he was blindsided by the D.C. “old hands” recommending this appointment or that appointment. After all, stepping into the swamp doesn’t mean you know all of the critters under the surface.
Sundance had that great post about Schedule F, and now the 20,000 ft. view about the intrinsic quality of key appointees. It won’t get done in four years, but fours years may be sufficient to locate, inform and train hundreds of those who can carry this forward.
The Schedule F proposal, as well as a commanding use of the Senior Executive Service personnel managment.appointment system is a key first step in the strategic, “long march through the institutions” at the federal level. The cultural shift at the top will find the real friction at the GS-13/14 levels throughout the federal bureaucracy. The democrats/progressives have been salting those ranks for decades now, accelerated under Obama et al. It is there that the resistance and subversion of every policy effort by Trump and his administration will find the bulwark of the deep state.
Key Characteristics of an Ideal NSA based upon my understanding of what Sundance wrote:
1. Strategic and Smart: Deep understanding of national security issues and strategic thinking.
2. Exceptional Judgment: Ability to make critical decisions with sound judgment.
3. Brutally Honest: Willingness to present the unvarnished truth to the President.

Potential Candidates? (I only put this name out for discussion purposes. I do not know enough to make a recommendation)

• Exceptional Judgment: Has made critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Brutally Honest: Known for his blunt assessments.

I agree with all of these traits, however, I believe the most important trait (for NSA and all other positions) will be (as Sundance stated) knowing that most, if not all, information coming to them from outside this group will be lies. Take no information at face value. It will be the ultimate “trust but verify”. The next step has to be that when someone is caught lying or spreading a lie, they are FIRED!
I would start with firing. The threshold would be a simple request to show their work product during the Trump/Biden years. If there is a hint of loyalty to the system rather than to the nation they would be gone.
May I add that firing is step 1. Step 2 is protecting IC from these folks’ influence.
Take away their security clearances.
Make sure any contractors who hire them will be putting their livelihoods at risk.
Deny their requests to write articles, opinions, or books on classified matters.
They need to become pariahs, outcast, and lacking any influence.

Just as I am truly thankful every time our Pastor preaches the Word of God so that it pierces my heart with conviction and sorrow, the truth — and putting it into action — always has the greatest beneficial outcome.

Not to mention, we have a case study of a similar situation, when Slick Willy elevated his wife to an extra-constitutional senior role. So many layers of failure and wrong there. Some would want similar today.

I’ve always felt that Melania’s true role for President Trump is as his spiritual pole star.

Just a couple random thoughts
I like the idea of the emissary, the guy who carries a message whispered in his ear, receives the whispered reply, which he in turn whispers in the President’s ear. No way to bug it. No way to garble it.
However, in order for that person to be effective he must have a cover position that would send him around the world. PDJT can’t have everyone noticing. “There goes The Emissary! Something’s up! Where’s he going? Singapore? Hmmm. Who else is in Singapore this week?” Can’t have that.
Jared Kushner was able to put together the first parties to the Abraham Accords because no one was paying much attention to him. Just the son in law off doing some low level, make-work, diplomacy stuff somewhere to make him feel busy and important, bringing back a headdress and a spear as gifts from President Mumbo Pumbo – then BAM! It drops. The Abraham Accords. But his usefulness as an Emissary also immediately evaporated with his new high visibility when the Abraham Accords were announced.
No, perhaps it is better for the Emissary to have no official role or title at all, just a private citizen whose movements around the world are nobody else’s business, as he carries the whispered messages. Someone comes to mind as an example from the past, but I’ll just let that ride. Which leads to the thought of more than one Emissary, utilizing different trusted contacts and connections depending upon the players involved and the contexts.
Not sure more than one emissary would be a good idea. It brings to mind an old Irish proverb…it’s not a secret if more than two people know!

Sundance, I have been on vacation and unplugged at the request of my wife. It was refreshing. I come back to read this article. So, I had to go back and read your emissary blog. It was poignat. Then I went to the comments and saw what you meant.

Thinking about Emissaries in history is not very uplifting. The first one I can think of is Edward House for Wilson. Wilson eventually dumped him over loyalty concerns . Then there was Harry Hopkins. He was a commie but therefore a good fit for FDR. Sherman Adams, RFK1, and Kissinger get disqualified because they held an official position. Then there was Kushner. He is not well regarded around here due to his generally leftist domestic stance but he did deliver the Abraham Accords. All of these men, including the ones I DQd were intensely controversial and it is hard to see how it could be otherwise given their influence on the President.

Funny thing, I was enjoying a coffee of the patio and was thinking about how to bring up to a Dem voter that we R voters face the same issue of our elected officials ignoring us.
I honestly believe a lot (my guess would be 25% to 50%) of Dem voters don’t agree with all of the Dem platform but for their single issue (anti-gun, immigration, pro-choice, etc) they care more about that than opposing hyper-lgbtq’ism and the media’s portrayal of R’s doesn’t allow them to consider the alternative.
Also, they see protestors protesting against R’s on the very issue that they care about.
Then, they see R voters protesting against R politicians so why would they vote for an R who doesn’t even do what R voters want?
Think about what is portrayed to us in the media: nasty Tea Party and MAGA voters protesting/attacking their own “representatives” and angelic lgbt, BLM, dreamers, etc voters protesting against R’s. Trump is a threat to democracy because he was trying though the judicial and legislative branch to investigate voter fraud, but Biden is democracy’s savior because he handed the reigns to someone the voters never voter for, but that democracy.
And the mere fact that they (media and politicians) continue to describe our nation as a democracy is ludicrous.
I don’t know how, or if it’s even possible, but we need a widespread understanding that the Founders purposely established a Republic to guard against the mob rule of pure democracies. The ability of the mob to wreck havoc on the population was understood way back in the late-1700’s.
Human nature has not changed one bit despite technological advances.
While mowing the lawn yesterday I was day dreaming (could’ve been heat exhaustion as well 😂), what if Sundance could sit down with Barry Soetoro and layout the proper vision of how to govern for the people. I bet Barry could endorse Trump, work with him to implement an agenda, help get the 17th and 22nd amendments abolished and then run in 2028. He could be President until he dies in office if he were to take the positions of Trump and with the two being known as the greatest presidents ever who saved the republic.
The democrats have an uncanny ability to pivot from positions and pretend they never held the opposite belief. I’m surprised one of them haven’t seen how popular Trump is across all demographics (they know what the real polls show) and adopt Trump’s policies but make it their own idea.

The product manufactured at this division was similar to main business of the corporation. This division was going to be shutdown.
Through a twist of fate we had right team of visionary managers able to convince corporate leadership to provide modest amount of seed money for us to become ‘beta’ site to prove out ‘new’ manufacturing system that could be eventually adopted at main product divisions for significant organization efficiency improvement. We were to adopt a ‘moving’ line production concept on a product with hundred of thousands of parts.. Why moving line where every line worker is empowered to stop the line when a problem is encountered? Because it immediately exposes all your inefficiencies in quality, supply and organization. Every department has to reorganize out of silos and focus on what matters most solving quality, supply, & organization issues to restore the line moving or else entire division is dead. This turned out to be a huge success and was eventually adopted by the corporation main product lines.
A ‘Moving’ line forces management, unions, suppliers to rapidly solve issues by adopting leadership principles and practices very similar to those described by Sundance.
The government has to be forced to adopt a continuous ‘moving’ line of management, policies, practices, laws, regulations, diplomacy only delivering good products wanted for improving human and society condition otherwise we shut down the line until they get it.
