Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Hmmm, seems like the perfect place and theme to begin this Sabbath morning Ordinary to the extra-ordinary. However we must always remember there are many out there who are far from the joy and understanding of what “it’s” all about. As the author writes “Our Lord challengers believers to transform the world…..” We cannot do that without putting in the effort.
Apologies if this is a little long – got a bit of a theme going on here.
Thank you for the Chants…A little early, a little secular song but the message is clear…for rich and for poor, the weak and the strong….:and so this is Christmas and what have we done?
War is over if you want it….
God does not call us to transform this world. He calls us to repent, believe and be saved and evangelize the lost.
Morning Garrison!
Just climbing on, Gramps. Sorry . . . 🙂
“…singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts…” – Ephesians 5:19
“Pulling out jives and jamboree handouts”
“Bottles and cans and just clap your hands”
that just takes my breath away …….. hahaha ! ♥️
This is our customary Treeper Church Open Thread Sunday benediction . . We began this several years ago because we recognized that there was a number of believers on our thread. So, it just seemed right to have a benediction celebrating God’s Grace in our midst.
This benediction is not complex nor is it demanding. It is simply a place for quiet and reflection. It is also a place were we can connect to Our Savior. That said all are welcome here. Most of us are believers. But if you are not, we can simply say . . . join us. All ou have to do is tell Our Lord that we acept Him and Believe in Him. Do that and you’re home. Honest.
Thanks Ad rem . . . love
Thank you Garrison for sharing.
I especially liked Caledonia. It is an arrangement put together by Voices8 and 4300 singers during the Covid lock down.
If you go to the link, the words are also available and are beautiful.
We are being bombarded by so many forces intended to produce fear, hopelessness, anxiety, and isolation. In reality we are created in love, thrive in love, and created to reflect love to others.
I researched the song Caledonia, which has become a love song to Scotland as a homeland.
This song reminded me that we all long for home, and no matter what has happened, this world is not our home, as we are not of this world. Home is relationships with people who love us and whom we love, bathed in the loving presence of Hope and Security that comes from learning who are Creator is, His Ways, and the Comfort that comes from our Faith in Him
🙂
Bless-ed Sunday, Garrison, to you and all who dwell in this Tree of Refuge 💕 🙏🏻
One of the most moving and sublime works Brahms ever composed speaks of another Dwelling Place. One where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, no more tears. Set to Psalm 84, the whole work is lovely beyond description, but I’ll leave this part of it for all our brothers and sisters here.
His German Requiem composed after the passing of his mother, this one conducted by Robert Shaw.
“How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place”
How lovely are Thy dwellings fair, O Lord of Hosts.
My soul ever longer and faintest sore for the blest courts of the Lord:
My heart and flesh do cry to the living God.
O blest are they that in Thy house are dwelling:
They ever praise Thee, O Lord, forevermore.
Very nice Betsy…always enjoy your photos .. and others that post pics..always brings smiles …smiles are good 😂👍

A friend, who is extremely knowledgeable on both religion and history shared this observation recently about kamala and her “unburdened by what has been” comments…
—
“Ever wonder about the origin of Kamala’s “what can be, unburdened by what has been” incantation? It is an incantation, as proven by all her mismatched context when uttering it every chance she gets.
The key is to watch her hands. Every time she utters the phrase, she gestures heavenward with her right hand, then points downward with the left. Once or twice (before she mastered seamlessly changing the mic from one hand to the other) she gestured both heavenward and earthward with her right hand, but now she always alternates, however awkward the mic swap.
The gesture originates from the mystic hermetic utterance, “as above, so below.”
A pre-Christian pagan phrase first recorded in ancient Greece, it was revived in Kabbalism and then Frankism, and popularized during the spiritist movement of the 19th century by Frankist and founder of the Theosophic movement, Helena Blavatsky.
The image of the bisexual Baphomet employs the gesture, right hand gesturing heavenward and left hand downward (to Earth or Hell, depending on the Baphometic pagan movement in question).
The actual “unburdened by what has been” part is a Frankist incantation averring the capacity of man unburdened by morality or conscience to attain godhood – the central tenet of Frankism.
Creepy stuff. This is a deeply evil woman.”

There’s a great scene in Oceans 12 or 13
Brad Pitt has invested his previous earnings in hotels and is called in as manager of one of them because a Hollywood brat actor is tearing up his room.
Brad enters the room where the actor is throwing things around in a tantrum to calm him down
The actor continues his rampage and tears off his bracelet and throws it to the floor, exclaiming:
“It’s like this Kabbalah sh#t doesn’t even WORK !!!”
(the film was made when Kabbalah was the latest fad among the famous, Madonna for instance)
good writing
Kabbalah, Kamala … let’s call the whole thing off …
““It’s like this Kabbalah sh#t doesn’t even WORK !!!” Lol – that’s because one needs to be as humble as Moses, Noble as King David, and loving as Jesus to even begin to think about Kabbalah – and I’m talking about true Kabbalah in its purest and holiest form. In a teeny tiny nutshell Kabbalah is the “interface” between the divine and physical world. Long held secret for good reason, but today, almost anybody can get somebody to “teach” them something from the many many different books out there. Probably 99% of it will be misunderstood, and worse, used with very dangerous and dark outcomes, often unknown to the unworthy user. Every advise from every true Kabbalist would be to stay clear unless one is under the supervision of a worthy and righteous teacher and is as least as “qualified” as those mentioned above. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your mind – and love your neighbor as yourself, is all the Kabbalah anybody needs. If a person cannot achieve this, they have no business in the deeper layers of mystery.
thx for the thoughtful reply, Oldspeak

Good one. Good morning annie
evenin’ monti ♥️
Recently I’ve been having regrets over something I did. I’ve always been an avid reader and I have my Mom to thank for that, as she was a reader and passed that on to me.
I started collecting books in the 80’s. By recent times, my personal library had swelled to over 400 books. I was extremely proud of my library, and considered it my most prized possession. My genre of choice was science fiction, but I also enjoyed a few classics, including a boxed set of the complete Shakespeare and a presentation copy of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War.”
I learned much from these books, and in some ways some of them shaped my life to who I am now. That, to me, is the beauty of science fiction, or as it is sometimes called speculative fiction. The best S-F can cause one to look at things in a different way, or to ponder possibilities not previously considered, leading to new ways of thinking.
Not only did I read all those books, but almost all of them I have read more than once. In fact, I can think of one that I have read so many times over the years that I have had to purchase it multiple times because it wore out and fell apart. That would be “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress,” by Robert A. Heinlein. And if I were in a “Farhenheit 451” situation where I had to memorize a book, mine would be “The Silmarillion” by Tolkien.
Earlier this year I was downsized by my previous company, and I was sidelined for a couple of months with no income stream. Things got pretty lean for a time, and I felt it necessary to make myself more mobile, and unburden myself of a household of possessions. Things got so strait that I loaded up all my books and took them down to Half Price Books to see what they would fetch. It took them hours to assess all those books, and they came back with a quote of 40-something dollars. I was crestfallen. To think that a lifetime of passion in collecting all these wonderful and important books was reduced to a couple of 20 dollar bills was a real blow. My situation was such that I felt I had no choice, and accepted the offer.
But that’s not even the deepest regret. I would think of passages from a memorable novel, and I would start to get up and retrieve that novel and review that passage, or perhaps re-read the entire book. And then I would be pulled up short, remembering that my library no longer exists. It’s as if I’ve lost a friend, and a mentor.
By the way, I’m doing much better now. I landed a better job with better pay in the same industry, and next week will mark my first 90 days there and the possibility of a raise.
But it’s unlikely that I will ever amass such a library again. So sad.
I understand especially about books. I regret that I have loaned some of my favorites to people I thought would return them but never did. I think of something later or want a quote and return to my book friends. But my latest lesson is that in the end it is only stuff. My soon to be 96 year old mother has had to go into care and my sister and I have been going through the family home. Much of what she has kept over the years only has value to her and as she can no longer live with her stuff it just becomes stuff. There is a saying that “you cant take it with you when you go”. My next plan after sorting the family home is to lighten my own collection of stuff, so if God called, it would not be a great burden for others to sort through my stuff. Maybe being a little lighter and unburdened will be a blessing to you in the long run. I pray it is so. Meanwhile it is ok to grieve for your books.
In this particular category, my peak was right after I left the Army, when everything I owned, I could carry. Now that was mobility. But the ancient Chinese proverb comes to mind:
“In the course of a long life, a wise man must be prepared to abandon his baggage from time to time.”
I feel your pain, Jeff
One thing to look into is that you may be able to access many of those books on the internet for free these days, or perhaps nominal charge
Look up “internet libraries”, I imagine there’s such a thing
anyone?
I too went from a house filled with overflowing bookshelves to a single shelf of books due to the need to downsize and simplify.
However, my library has been slowly but steadily regrowing, just this time in a digital format. My Kindle Paperwhite fits in my bag or the back pocket of my jeans, and thus I currently carry over 200 books with me wherever I go. If I break or loose it, I am able to re-download my entire collection into a new device. I still miss the feel of paper books sometimes, but my aging eyes appreciate the ability to increase the font size when reading my old favorites or the new authors I find when searching for bargains.
If that pay raise comes through, you might want to consider starting a digital library so that you never have to leave your friends behind again.
Good advice, Sherry
I have 100’s of books loaded on my phone – never without reading material. Plus the black background feature means I can read at night without disturbing my husband
That’s not to say I don’t have bookcases full of hardcovers – I do
But, I have discovered that most thrift stores won’t even take books any longer. Sad commentary on the times, but a problem for those who must deal with them at some point.
As with many people of my age, I have a certain distaste for e-books. But it might be prudent, as you suggest, to overcome that prejudice.
Now get off my lawn! (lol)
Understand, keep in mind. You know those words, those books. Possessions are just that. Sharing, no matter the reason is a chance for others to learn from same said “possessions.”
That was too funny! I am going to buy a gator toy and well, just maybe…
That.is.AWESOME!!!!
Watched it five or six times in a row, got tears in my eyes from laughing!

Good Morning WeeWeed!
Good morning all.
Kamala the chicken head, cackle, cackle, cluck, cluck.
How’s the farm Monti? Any bird sightings?
Good morning my friend.
Doves, buntings, wrens, mockingbirds, cardinals and hummingbirds to name a few. Have been missing the raptors that I love to watch especially the falcons.
Rains finally came after a long dry so things are looking up.
And you Colkitto?
After my Spring/Summer nestings, just the usual Cardinals,Thrashers,Carolina Wrens, Chickadees (who had raised a family in my Chickadee house) Goldfinches, and Titmice. I am watching for the migrants which should start with early Orioles (never seen any here unfortunately)Warblers,Tanagers in mid to late August. Once September comes it should be ‘happening’ in my yard/area.
One strange thing I’ve noticed this year, which is not good, is the big decrease in my usual resident flyover Chimney Swifts which I suspect annually nested nearby in an old building/barn. Some suspect the 5G towers which are near, but its the first year that I have hardly ever seen them, and their accompanying Rough-winged Swallows.
I do see my bats at dusk though.
Kamala and the coconut tree.
She looks like drunk here:

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said during a speech in Belem, Brazil, on Saturday that the price tag for a global transition to a low-carbon economy amounts to $78 trillion in financing through 2050.
Wow……..
Just tosses that number out there like it’s nothing….
In reality it’s probably double that when you factor in inflation and the fact that they really have no idea.
Good point.
Since when do government officials ever give an accurate number?
“On time and under budget” *NEVER * happens with government.
That’s why we have the phrase ‘good enough for government work’

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. – Ephesians 6:10
A war of words is being waged against Christians in America – particularly those who love their country. Individuals, families, social groups, and churches are being disparaged by terms such as “Christian nationalism” by news pundits and others as the most dangerous form of terror the United States is facing today.
The National Institute of Health in 2022 said there is a “relationship between Christian nationalism and support for political violence.”
A December 2023 report from the U. S. House Judiciary Committee titled “The FBI’s Breach of Religious Freedom: The Weaponization of Law Enforcement Against Catholic Americans,” details the agency’s actions under “the guise of tracking the threat of domestic terrorism.”
A news anchor earlier this month decried all Christian fervor as dangerous to democracy. The assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, this month may well have been motivated by such slanderous rhetoric.
The slings and arrows of the wicked one abound. Many suggest it is because he knows his days are short and the return of the Lord is at hand.
Some cite 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, 2 Timothy 3:1-17, and other passages concerning the end times.
Just before Paul outlines the armor of God that has been provided to each believer, he says in today’s verse, “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” Teacher, missionary, and author Ruth Paxson, who writes on the victorious Christian life, says, “God has no place for the spiritual pacifist. Every Christian is conscripted for both defensive and offensive warfare.
He calls every saint to arms. ‘Not into a religious playground or sports field, but into grim, terrible conflict we are called.’”
In the midst of the dark and evil attacks, God calls His people to engage in what Pastor Ray Stedman calls “intelligent combat.”
Stedman says, “It is a call to us to be men and women of God, to fight the good fight, to stand fast in the faith, to be strong in the Lord in the middle of the battle.”
Keep yourself aligned with your Heavenly Commander in Chief. Be led by Him and by His Word. He has not left you defenseless. Yours is the victory.
Pray for the Lord’s strength and protection to rest upon God-honoring men and women in America’s military and intelligence services.

Morning all,
I’ve always had a love for pancakes, and had considered IHop to have the best. The last two times I went to IHop the regular servers were no longer there, the atmosphere had changed, and the food was downgraded.
I have never ordered breakfast at Cracker Barrel and had avoided it up until now. I went the other day and their Pancakes were awesome. Kinda crepe-ish, different than when IHop’s were great, but really good. Another really cool thing, is they give you a small bottle of genuine Maple Syrup with your pancakes. I had always brought my own when going to IHop because Pancake syrup is high fructose corn syrup. Highly recommended. Here’s a recipe if you want to try at home and in addition Maple Grove Farms makes a really good Pancake mix and their online store has some other really good products.

Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird. This is the common Hummingbird most people, especially on the Eastern side of the Rockie Mtns are privileged to see. I’ve had a good run of them this year, visiting my many flowers. I saw them on my Phlox the other day. They are amazing to watch.
Yeap, the littles ones are now out. They’re short and fat and don’t quite have the RPM of the adults. Keep those feeders fresh and full.
Verse of the Day for Sunday, July 28, 2024
✟
“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
Matthew 21:22 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
FRIEND AND COMFORT
We think we know all about Jesus
We undoubtedly believe He frees us
His blood protects us from all harm
No rhyme or reason for alarm
By His stripes we are totally healed
We just need to trust our fate is sealed
It is our friendship with Him that reveals
The secrets that experience conceals
Jesus is a friend who ne’er lets us down
Through thick and thin He is always around
When we least expect He appears so close
He comes quickly by the prayer we chose
Did you know he is physician/therapist
He can diagnose/propose repair it best
When all have thrown in the towel tis true
He has the perfect plan for what to do
No one would believe if ever be told
His glorious guidance to behold
Unless they experienced the intimacy
Of a relationship with legitimacy
His patience purges tumultuous tears
His calmness fractures frightening fears
His nearness comforts the hopelessness
His strength befuddles broad brokenness
When we cry through the pain He lifts us up
Offers us a sip from the Blessing Cup
Encourages us to endure thru it all
As He readies us for His Divine Call
It’s an exercise in humility to give it all to Him
Not something He takes lightly on a whim
Tis a gift of assurance we’ll succeed
As long as we trust in Him and accede

HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY !!! ❤️❤️❤️
I SAID A LITTLE PRAYER
I said a little prayer for You
And You and You and You
It was so instantaneous
Cause I care so much for You!
I asked Our Heavenly Father
To bless each and every one
From early in the morning
Until the day is done.
I asked Our Heavenly Physician
To heal you; make you whole
To reach inside of you and touch
Your mind, body, and soul!!!
I asked the Heavenly Angels
To attend to all your needs
To lift you up and comfort you
And help you plant those seeds!!!
I asked the Holy Spirit
To guide, inspire, and direct
Every single step you take
Mind, body, and soul perfect.
I asked those who are suffering
Remember one important thing
After the trial is over
His blessings He will bring!!!
I asked God for some laughter
The best medicine we know
To ease your pain wherever
As you come and as you go.
But most of all I asked God
To heal your aching heart
And from you never never
To leave you or depart!!!

MISSING YOU
The family is quiet
I really know not why
There has been no real riot
Nothing that meets the eye
We were flourishing and strong
Even with the stress of each day
Then suddenly something went wrong
And we have somehow lost our way
Something has gone adrift
And split our family apart
There was a sudden shift
An attack on every heart
Some say life has gotten in the way
Too many distractions they bear
Some say away they must stay
And take solace away in prayer
Some are dealing with pain
Of the physical and the mental
From interaction they abstain
Thus with all we must be gentle
With whatever you are dealing
We will keep you in prayer
That God provide the healing
Be comforted and aware
If you have a problem with another
Let it not fester inside
Ask God for help with sister/brother
Let peace in your heart abide
Forgiveness is a blessing
Like no other that I know
It’s power to relieve the stressing
The hurt and pain it will slow
Please check in and let us know
You are okay and just fine
Let us hear and see you glow
Let your light for us it shine
Pray and then pray again
For God to give you a sign
Bring out the great Amen
And with us all be fine!!!

A PLACE TO REST
Our first thought at sunrise we say
Thank You for this beautiful day
For the birds that sing
The church bells that ring
Your promise to make straight our way
As the coffee is perking we pray
Our Armor of God keep evil away
For protection and strength
We humbly pray at length
So the enemy will not have his way
Our babies and animals need our care
We hustle with not a moment to spare
With breakfast a cooking
Disheveled we’re looking
We gather together blessings to share
The dishes pots and pans will soak
While we shower and shave not poke
We dress as we please
With the greatest of ease
And return to finish of which we spoke
With the kitchen all pristine and clean
Over a second cup we can glean
We’ll continue to pray
Before going our way
To work or the garden to stay
Whatever we do we do it for You
As it becomes clearer what we must do
We need you to guide us
To stay close beside us
We pray Your blessings will come and accrue
It is midmorning time to stop and rest
We stop at the Treehouse to be a guest
As we scroll on by
Posts will catch the eye
With each comment we are thankfully blessed
If you are in need of a place to rest
Come to the Treehouse and be our guest
There you will find us all like-minded
Bloggers who care to be reminded
Heaven bound we pray will end our quest

EVENING PRAYERS
A Powerful Evening Prayer for Peace and Serenity
Dear Lord,
As the day gradually transitions into the comforting embrace of night, I humbly come before you, seeking the precious gifts of peace and serenity. Please, dear God, enfold me in your tranquil presence, and help me find respite from the storms that may be raging within my heart and mind. Grant me the serenity to gracefully accept the things I cannot change and the courage to change what I can. May your divine light shine upon me as I seek rest and tranquility, knowing that your unwavering love and guidance are my constant companions.
Amen.

on the same topic of helpful drug side effects:
one of the anti-cholesterol drugs my doc has me on — fenofibrate — was determined to have some anti-Covid efficacy
never contracted it thru the pandemic, tho i live alone, no school kids around, etc
never got the vax, either, I remain a trueblood mostly thanks to the reading I did here at Treehouse at the time
then there’s Viagra, whose principal notoriety and utility are a side effect of what was being researched as a heart medication

stellar
I’m going to post this several times because we all need this.
How do you speak in tongues? YOU speak as if…..belief is after. All did away with? No you choose your path and God directs your steps.
How do you converse with your guardian angels. Put them to work on a use and then listen and watch what vision your imagination produces.
You are teaching and training your spirit and faith.
Anyone can see and converse with his angels, we choose not to.
I choose to, and I work towards his company.
This world is going to slice through all the fakes, better get right now.
