I know most folks hold a dim view of Trey Gowdy. Rightly so. On Fox, just before they cut over to the hearing, he did state some truth.
You don’t get to the truth in 5 minutes at a time. You don’t interview the bosses, you talk to the witnesses for 5 hours at a time.
I don’t know how this 5 minute sound bite format ever got invented. I guess it was the advent of TV. It’s just silly.

If the issue ever is litigated to determination in the courts by a competing candidate, I predict a result that basically says: there are only two ways to be a citizen, by birthright or by naturalization, and the first is a “natural born citizen”, and moreover, unless otherwise specified in the Constitution as interpreted by prior case law, Congress decides who does or does not require naturalization and the rules for it, because the phrase “natural born citizen” was a newly-coined term of art that has no exact usage history.
At any rate, we would do far better to get clarified that anchor babies are not born of parents subject to U.S. law and jurisdiction, and are NOT citizens merely by virtue of being born on U.S. soil. This is a crackpot interpretation of the 14th Amendment and consequent cases.

These two laws, passed by Congress, give rise to a subset of citizens who are citizens at birth.
The WHOLE set of citizens at birth include natural born citizens and those native born who comport to those laws.
The law DID NOT equate citizen at birth to being a natural born citizen, as the law made those babies citizens, not their natural born circumstances.

That is not misleading. There are three forms of citizenship.
Natural born is one. A child born on U.S. soil of TWO parents who are citizens. Jus solis-jus sanguineous. Coming if I remember correctly, from our founding fathers drawing from the law of Vattel and English law, when writing the Constitution . They specifically wrote this for the P and VP to prevent foreign interference in our top govt. positions. The only exception was for those who were not citizens at birth from parent citizens because the country was not in existence yet when they were born here. That would be many of the founding fathers.
A child born on U.S. soil of non citizen parents is another as Debra stated above-made by law. Native born. Anchor babies.
The third are those citizens who immigrate legally and become citizens by choice and law as adults. Naturalized citizen.
The only one of the three who can become Pres or VP is the first one under Article 2. NATURAL BORN of two parents who are citizens at the time of the child’s birth.
The issue on natural born is the two parent requirement and if this was intended in the clause. The SC has squirmed around defining this natural born citizen issue for many decades. They refused to take it up when challenged for Obama being eligible. Standing was indeed the lame reason they have used to run far away from it.

Per the Constitution there WILL be:
– citizens AND natural born citizens;
– one is either a citizen OR a natural born citizen (per the presidential requirements vs that of Congressperson;
– Congress has the power of naturalization – which means the conferment of citizenship;
– Congress has enacted Naturalization laws, along with laws pertaining to how foreigners may go through a naturalization proceeding in order to become a citizen: both yield citizens made via laws;
– per the Acts I referenced, Congress has conferred citizenship to various categories of parentage which inure citizenship at birth to a child;
– natural born citizens are citizens at birth; Congress also declared those categories of children citizens at birth, BUT the latter are deemed citizens per the manner (statute) they became citizens, not because they are natural born citizens;
– citizens at birth is a whole set of citizens (ones that do not have to go through the naturalization process) and WITHIN that whole set resides a CLOSED sub-set of natural born citizens, which do not need any LEGAL definition because in nature it is understood that if the entirety of your blood is from a certain sub-category of humans (e.g., citizens of the U.S) and your body was born on the soil of a designated country, (e.g., these United States), then no natural law can take away the FACT that you are a natural born citizen of this country.
When my son took Constitutional Law, they never studied the Constitution, its intent, or the reasoning of its defenders and detractors. The entire class was how to use case law and precedent to reinterpret and bypass the Constitution.

There is sufficient evidence that Kamala was born in California, so unless you can find evidence proving otherwise she is a natural-born citizen per current standards. Because she fulfills the other requirements of being President, she is eligible to be President.
If you think the current standards are wrong then it will require changing them through the normal legal processes. I’m sympathetic to your complaint, I personally would like to revamp the eligibility for President to require that both parents of the candidate be US citizens. But there will be no changes before the election, and I think Bersey is right that it’s just not in our best interests to spend time arguing that she’s ineligible, that it would be much better to focus on the things that really aren’t debatable like her absolutely horrid handling of the border, or her history of sleeping her way into higher positions.
