My first album was “Meet the Beatles.” I wore out the grooves. My dad was sweet about it, but it was clear he didn’t really care for it (especially the zillionth time)
At some point, I think Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops did an album of Beatle songs. He listened and said, “you know, this isn’t bad!” High praise indeed.

Brinton, a gender-fluid ‘pup handler,’ was facing up to 20 years in prison on felony grand larceny charges related to the baggage theft of an African dress designer.
Asya Khamsin, the Houston-based Tanzanian fashion designer alleged Sam Brinton stole her luggage in March 2018.
Brinton will undergo mental health treatment, complete 50 hours of community service and write an apology letter as part of his plea deal with prosecutors.
Under a civil lawsuit settlement, Brinton agreed to pay Khamsin an undisclosed settlement and wrote her an apology letter, the Free Beacon reported.

I made an Asian dish with salmon and shrimp and stir fry veggies.
To me… I thought maybe I was reactivity adversely to salt in the soy sauce. I simply have no toleration for it now… but gave Harry a piece of the unseasoned portion of the fish in the deep flesh and he got sick.
Kiddo felt fine, went to work, came home later, went for a walk together, and by midnight we were both just yuck.
Can’t pinpoint… fish, sodium, not sure. Going to be a long day, but was glad to coincidentally see this episode last night (there are no coincidences!) It was perfectly timely.

I will be missing my first major holiday with Savannah but I get a bit of fulfillment serving my brothers and sisters in my community stocking shelves. I get to think and pray all night long and though I get tired at the end of the shift, feel like I could run a marathon a bit later in the day.
All my coworkers are very eclectic and fascinating people. They all work hard for you in the shadows, behind the scenes. Some may be too “shy” for day jobs, but all are super sweet, even those who have lifestyles I disagree with Spiritually, all are warm welcoming and I consider them family. Let’s pray for those to come to a knowing and loving relationship with Jesus.

I work in the Orthopedic Department in the hospital here in Boston. I have heard from the doctors (as well as seen both pictures and x-rays) about some pretty nasty breaks/fractures/separations, how they have happened as well as how the MD’s go about fixing the patients up.
I am in awe of the work the hospital does with regards to what the medical professionals do day in and day out to care for patients, and in Orthopedics….how they literally put people back together again. (And…I have worked here for over 35 years !! Still amazed at the work they all do !!)
Hope you are feeling more better with each passing day !! When we are both fully recovered let’s go out on that jog !!!

Got a granddaughter who is in residency for orthopedic surgery. Her favorite is trauma.
I worked in the medical industrial complex a long long time and became quite the skeptic, unfortunately.
But….if you’ve sustained injuries requiring an orthopod, we really do know how to do that well. Our son is having ankle replacement surgery soon, and I’m sure it will have a very positive impact on his life.

I have a video of Savannah when she was around 3 or 4 years old – shooting backwards to a regulation hoop and sinking a basket FOUR times in a row. Her daycare director took the video. She was a little Avery Johnson in her time. Short but powerful. She started playing at 4 years old in Hoopsters then through Upwards Christian basketball.
Now, she won’t even try to shoot a basket unless it’s a three point shot. She has an angry throw.
She would have been good if she could play past 6th grade, but her school at the time had an ultra competitive team and only the elite could get on the team. We couldn’t have afforded it.
She was good friends with her mentor from that school. Savannah and Ty would “trash talk” each other and play together. They would compete as to who could leap higher. The upper grade girls mentored and coached the littles. This girl is salt of the earth and just love Tyasha.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Kyiv, Ukraine on Tuesday morning to promote a peace process, the day after he took over the Presidency of the European Council.
Viktor Orban took over the rotating presidency of the European Council on Monday, vowing to work for peace in Europe during his term, and promptly took up the longstanding invitation to travel to Kyiv from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a surprise trip Tuesday morning.
A press spokesman for Mr Orban said of his intentions for the day, which will include talks with President Zelensky, statements, but no press conference: “The most important topic of the discussion is the possibility of creating peace”.

Couldn’t agree more with the lessons of life’s trials. I posted the Focus on the Family interview with TobyMac about his son’s death. Broke my heart in so many pieces. He’s a good man, a great father, and a lover of the Lord… no matter what. He has performed over 30 years and thought this would be the thing that stopped him from performing, but he trusted God through his pain and he said God was Kind to him. Ohhh man… tears!
If / when you get the chance to attend a TobyMac concert… travel for it, if you have to. It is solid high energy bouncing up and down for 90 minutes. Big cheesy grins on your face, and baby children to grandparents rocking out. He’s SO good… he and his Diverecity Band.
Good friends with Michael Tait (lead singer from Newsboys) from their DC Talk days… both will be in Indiana the weekend of August 9th (Mac – Plymouth Motor Speedway) and 11th (Newsboys – State Fair Indy). We both took off from our respective jobs and we’re going.
When you have a daughter who loves the Lord and makes a joyful noise through music… it’s a pleasure to share that experience.
Incidentally, it was the first time Truett had purchased a Rx drug off the street to help him sleep, and it was laced with 10x the fatal Fetanyl dose. He was taking amphetamines (like Savannah’s Rx amphetamines) for clarity to write music like his dad. Truett loved the Lord and made a bad decision that cost him.
Toby said in the interview, that God Gave Truett 21 years. God Gave Jesus 33 years. Maybe that was all he had, so he thanked God for his 21 years with his son. This is his song “21 Years” written for his song.

When I get into the presence of God, I do not realize that I am a sinner in an indefinite sense; I realize the concentration of sin in a particular feature of my life. A man will say easily – “Oh, yes, I know I am a sinner”; but when he gets into the presence of God he cannot get off with that statement. The conviction is concentrated on – I am this; or that, or the other. This is always the sign that a man or woman is in the presence of God. There is never any vague sense of sin, but the concentration of sin in some personal particular. God begins by convicting us of the one thing fixed on in the mind that is prompted by His Spirit; if we will yield to His conviction on that point, He will lead us down to the great disposition of sin underneath. That is the way God always deals with us when we are consciously in His presence.
This experience of the concentration of sin is true in the greatest and the least of saints as well as in the greatest and the least of sinners. When a man is on the first rung of the ladder of experience, he may say – I do not know where I have gone wrong; but the Spirit of God will point out some particular definite thing. Agreed, and in my experience not all sins are equal, in the sense of being purged all together in one touch. Some are “hidden” so deep, we are often unwilling to confront, let alone admit to them. Sometimes, it or they are so intertwined into our being, it’s almost who we are. An example would be the “guilt” carried by the victim of abuse who for some reason has allowed the evil inclination (devil) to convince that person that they somehow are “guilty” or deserving in some measure – which of course is nonsense – and a powerful tool in the hands of the dark side to break a persons self esteem, and sense of worthiness of being a child of God. This is the type of “sin” that the Lord can speak “…laid it upon my mouth, and said Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.”. However and in my case at least, it appears all those transgressions “knowingly” committed, are not so easily wiped away. I seem to hear the message “Show me”. The lord is fair and just and perfect in all things – also reflected in “science” for every action a reaction, a balancing of the scales. We have the power to request and plead our case to the Lord, so in his mercy may put out His hand to tip in our favor.
Just finished mopping the kitchen floor, and as I try to do with most “menial” chores, is get into a semi-meditative state (better than focusing on the damn floor), anyway was chewing over that verse from Isaiah. (We have 32 teeth, equal to the 32 paths of wisdom) and it came to me that that situation may have been something like this – Isaiah, knowing he has some deep unfinished business, is finally about to admit it/them to God in prayer when God, knowing what is in the heart is sincere puts out his hand and touches his (Isaiah) lips. Why?? What do we do when we gently want to say to loved one that “It’s OK – I understand/know?? We gently touch their lips as if to say “hush” we will no longer speak of this – it has been “cleansed”- Now go, do My Will and sin no more.

A little story …
Funny how things trigger memories.
While making pimento cheese spread, I thought of my grandmother.
Her pimento cheese was the very best.
When Grandma was up in her eighties, I would visit often and have lunch with her.
The old, yellow, chrome kitchen table was still around from my childhood.
And a sandwich, coca-cola, and homemade chocolate chip cookies were a nostalgic delight.
My two grandmothers taught me about faith in Christ.
Neither were perfect people, but they lived Godly lives – flaws and all.
Grandma left me (and others) a precious gift – even from her hospice bed.
Unknown to me, Grandma had sharp words with her daughter-in-law the week before hospice, related to her sickness.
I never knew what was said, only that there were hurt feelings on both sides.
And those two were close, having loved one another for seventy plus years.
While sitting at her bedside, Grandma asked me to call her DIL to the room.
Grandma wanted to ask forgiveness for her irritable behavior –
(although she probably deserved a “pass” since her body had been shutting down – physically and mentally.)
Because she loved Jesus with all her heart, Grandma humbled herself to make things right with her DIL – and Him.
Two days later, Grandma died – yet her legacy lives on.
And, she had no idea how that action impacted me.
Or for that matter, her entire life.
We do not know who is watching our lives – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
May the Lord help us to be a channel of His love to others.
Love covers a multitude of sins – and love wins. (1 Peter 4:8)
Thank you, God, that Your Holy Spirit within my grandmother triumphed over evil during her last days on earth.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
